Delightful views, days spent floating in a lake, taking coffee on the sandy beach while you dip your toes in the water, what's not to love? The cabin was clean, quiet, and pleasantly rustic, but still with the comforts of home. A great spot to relax and disconnect.
I'm an Airbnb host in Ottawa and overall I was disappointed with my stay at this chalet. For the amount being charged and the description of the property I was expecting more. Lac Goulet is not a lake it's a pond and the beach is essentially a 3 foot opening to the water. But The major issues were with mildew and state of the mattresses. After a day of hiking in the park we were really looking forward to using the hot tub. We took the cover off only to be overwhelmed by the smell of mildew, the tub itself was also not clean. It was unusable for us. Then it rained that night and the ceiling leaked around the fireplace which revealed signs of mold. There were also signs of mold in the bathroom. The master bed mattresses has a noticeable sag in the middle which makes for an unpleasant sleep especially if you have back problems. At the current price point I did not find good value in this rental.
Hi Dan, thank you for your feedback. I'm sorry that you didn't enjoy your stay at our chalet. We make a point of providing a very accurate description and photos, which our guests appreciate judging on the high ratings we constantly receive. Our little beach has a 15 foot opening onto our lake. While it's not a huge lake with motor boats, our lake is great for swimming and relaxing. This is the first time anyone has complained about the size of it.
There was a downpour during your stay, which contributed to some water infiltration via our chimney. I don't think that there was enough time to mildew to develop, which I confirmed upon my visit after your stay and when I did the repairs. I did not find mold in the bathroom, can you please let me know where you found it?
Finally, we did purchase a new mattress and bed and I'm waiting for the "friend with a truck" to drive it up. I'll gladly offer you 25% off your next stay.
Alex was attentive and answered questions quickly. The cottage is quite comfortable and clean. The kids loved the little dining area and enjoyed playing by in the water. Overall a positive experience.
The location is fantastic. The lake is beautiful and looks just like the photo! The deck is a nice place to relax. Not far from Tremblant National Park which was a lot of fun for the kids.
