Convenient House on the Lake

House - Private room · Lebanon, NH, United States

The Space

Visiting a child at Dartmouth? Coming for business at DHMC? Want a fall color trip, summer lake escape, or winter cross-country ski getaway in New England?

Our place is perfect for you. Sleep in this gold jewel box of a bedroom with comfortable queen-sized bed, Italian marble floors and a giant picture window with an incredible view of the lake, mountains, and stars. Private bath with shower and bathtub is attached to your room.

In summer, step out the front door for kayaking, fishing, or swimming in Mascoma Lake, or out the back door to hike or bike the 20-mile Northern Rail Trail between Lebanon and Grantham NH; a short walk along the trail brings you to the Mascoma river for fly fishing. We can lend you the kayak, a bike, and/or basic fishing tackle, or feel free to bring your boat for waterskiing or other adventures.

In winter, snowshoe across the frozen lake or on the trail, or ice-skate on our front yard rink. Small kids love to sled down the hill! Warm up afterward with cocoa in front of the wood stove. We have snowshoes to lend for adults and kids, or bring your skis or snowmobile to use on the trail.

We're a 10 minute drive to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, and a 15 minute drive to Dartmouth College, too.

The room is perfect for a couple. We have a child and welcome children; if you bring a child or two along, they can sleep on an air mattress we'll provide in our son's playroom, or on a futon in the living room, adjacent to your room.

NEW: We now have a gorgeous new 3 person outdoor hot tub with a view of the lake!

Check In
  • Jeremy and his family were incredibly warm, accommodating, and friendly hosts. It was a pleasure staying with them, in their beautiful home. We enjoyed a lovely weekend, and the hot-tub overlooking the lake was a great way to relax our sore muscles after a long day of skiing!

  • Our weekend stay was comfortable and thoroughly enjoyable. Jeremy and his family were warm and helpful, and the room and spacious bathroom thoughtfully appointed. We appreciated the carafe of coffee Jeremy kindly put out for us each morning. While we spent most of our time at Dartmouth, which was an easy drive away, we did have time to enjoy a relaxing row on the lake. We would return without hesitation!

  • We loved our stay here! The lake was gorgeous and we took out the kayak with a bottle of wine. It was a beautiful night and we had a fire underneath the stars. We didn't realize there was a hot tub to boot! Jeremy was hospitable and was welcoming but also realized we wanted more privacy. He gave us both a warm welcome and enough space to do our own thing. I would stay here again in a heart beat! Unfortunately, we had to leave early to go on our next adventure but wished we could have stayed longer.

  • Jeremy and his family were so nice to me. They made me feel comfortable. The view of the lake was awesome and peaceful. I definitely will stay there again!

  • Beautiful setting, great host, nice accomadations. Arrived first night early enough for me and my wife to borrow Jeremy's kyack and paddle to the middle of the lake and enjoy the New Hampshire sunset. We then enjoyed some wine and cheese from the same view in the photo above.

Our last morning we enjoyed a beautiful walk along the lake, the path 50 yards behind the house. If you hate the motel feel that permeates from every hotel in the area and don't need to pay $250 a night for the tradional B&B, this is the place for you.

  • We really liked waking up to the view on the lake. It was gorgeous. The host was friendly and accommodating and made good dining suggestions (we went to two suggested places and the food was excellent). We felt welcomed and enjoyed quiet time sitting by the water and drinking wine on the deck. The landscape in the summer was astounding. For those who like walking, running, or biking, this house is adjacent to an extensive trail (the Northern Rail Trail), which runs alongside the lake. Having a private bathroom was a plus -- nothing fancy, but everything worked.

  • What a great place to stay! Absolutely gorgeous on the verge of a lake. With a panoramic window, we could overview the lake right from our bed.
Jeremy is a very friendly communicative host, who happily shares his home, his bikes, his kajak, his hot tub and his thoughts with you.

  • A very lovely setting, peaceful. Jeremy was most welcoming without overdoing it. The room and bathroom were simple and clean; the view of the lake serene. Wonderful to receive brownies on first eve! And bottled water was a nice touch. Hot tub was divine--during the "supermoon" on a clear clear night....
My only recommendation for improvement is a firmer bed.... there was a bit of a sag in the middle.
