I am renting out beds in my 2-bedroom apartment in Clinton Hill.
It is a spacious loft on the 5th floor of an elevator and security camera building.
It has an open concept kitchen and living room combo, so it feels very spacious. In addition to that, it has a 12 feet tall ceiling, with giant windows.
The room will be shared which is 180 square feet. It is as big as 2 rooms, with that high ceiling, it can fit like 10 people, but I will only put 4 people in it.
The G train is only 2 blocks away, and the bus 38 will lead you to downtown Brooklyn, while the bus 48 will lead you to Williamsburg and Greenpoint.
The famous doughnut store Dough is only a couple blocks away.
The supermarket is right downstairs.
In general, it has a convenient location. Did I mention, it's only a couple blocks away from Pratt Institute?
People in the building are friendly, and a mix between college students and young families.
So if you come to New York, come visit Brooklyn.
I am renting this out as a shared room because the more the merrier. I want people come to New York make friends, create memories, so I will throw dinner parties sometimes.
-Wash dishes after your meal
-Clean up your hair after shower and shaving
-Label your food
Feels more like a friendly flatshare than a hostel! I had a great time here, seriously! The price and the location are both amazing.
Hanh seems a really nice girl I just saw Her once, I stayed at the 516 apt , it was spacious , good wifi, full kitchen , and the people living there were friendly , everything good with my stay . Very close to G subway station.
This homestel is amazing! It's a place I called home for that 1 week! I met several roomies here! Most of them were students living there for about 3 to 6 months. They were friendly and nice people to hangout with.
I didn't have problem going to the place because the directions given were clear. It is a quiet neighbourhood with one of the cheapest and delicious pizza in NY right downstairs ($2.25 for a huge slice). There is a grocery store with relatively cheap stuff.
Manhattan is merely a 30 mins train ride away. The home was really close to the subway.
The homestel was relatively clean, considering the number of people sharing a bathroom. I mean it's everyone's responsibility to keep the room clean.
I was there right before winter, the weather was like 30 to 55 degrees (0 to 10 degrees Celsius). The heater surrounding the house kept me warm throughout the night.
Hannah is a very friendly and nice person to talk to. She gave me good advices even for my journey to Washington DC. I reached the place at about 7.30am because of my flight. I felt bad because I disturbed her sleep. She welcomed me to the house even though the check in time was 2pm. I did my laundry and took a nap on the sofa while waiting for my bed to be ready.
It's a shame that I was told that she may discontinue homestel because of her personal goals. A little sad to hear that. I mean this homestel concept is really a success! Nevertheless, I wish her success in the future!
I do hope that we can still keep in contact via (website hidden) and I'd love to stay there again if I were visit New York again!
Had a great time at Hannah's place. The apartment was clean and roommates were welcoming, which was great after a long flight. Though I only met Hannah briefly, she saw to it that everything was in order. The place is located right near a few supermarkets and delis, which were great for groceries or ordering affordable takeaways. Manhattan was only about 25min away by subway. All in all a very pleasant stay.

I moved to California after highschool in Vietnam.
Then I moved to New York after college in San Jose.
I want to become an entrepreneur, and work on opening my hostel in Brooklyn in the near future. It has been a year since I rent out my apartment on airbnb. I met many interesting people all around the world.
At this moment, I am in California, hoping to start my own food truck, and non-profit organization. My friend Stephanie who travels around the world with her silk in now in charge of my place.
We hope you will enjoy your stay with us.
