Our very comfortable one bedroom apartment at Coconut Love Beach House, is set among a tropical garden on a quiet street and breakfast is included. It's only a 3 minute walk to the beach and a 10 minute walk to Cahuita National Park.

The Space

Our very comfortable one bedroom apartment has a queen size bed. Two ceiling fans, one in the bedroom and one in the sitting/kitchen area. Kitchen has a fridge, stove, coffee maker, blender and toaster. Living area has a couch set and coffee table. Bathroom has a walk-in shower with hot water, hand soap, shampoo and body wash. Balcony with tropical garden view has patio furniture and a hammock. We offer a full breakfast each morning which includes organic Costa Rican coffee or a variety of tea and orange juice. An organic fruit smoothie with different choices everyday. For our main's you have a choice of a breakfast burrito, a yogurt and granola parfait or a fruit bowl. We serve this on our balcony between 7:00-9:00am every morning. We also offer free WI-FI, safety box, parking and cleaning. (our low monthly rate does not include breakfast) kids under 12 stay for free

Our tropical garden is full of palm and fruit tree's plus many varieties of tropical flowers. Different species of birds, butterflies, humming birds, toucans and morpho visit us everyday. We even have a couple of sloths who live in our cinnamon tree.

Interaction with Guests

Gabor and I (Jess) cook and serve breakfast each morning. We are available to help with anything we can until about 7pm everyday

The Neighborhood

We are located in a very safe and friendly neighborhood. We are walking distance to the beach, the Sunday farmers market, a bank with ATM, restaurants, Cahuita's famous reggae bar, corner store's, a fruit and veggie stand and a local butcher. Almost all fruits, meats and cheese are organic from local farms. There are always fishermen walking around town selling their fresh catch of the day and others selling chilled young coconuts called pipas.

Getting around

The public transportation in our area is really good. The bus is usually on time every hour on the half hour. We have a bus stop only a 3 min. walk from us. The bus goes all the way down the coast to Manzanillo.

  • This ranks as one of the nicer places to stay in Cahuita. Each 1 bedroom apartment has a privated covered balcony with a hammock and a lush view of the tropical garden.

Your hosts serve a delux breakfast every morning and speak perfect English. For 850 colones you can take the half hour ride to Puerto Viejo. A fifteen minute walk gets you into town and the park entrance. A five minute wal lk leads to other beaches that you may enjoy all to yourself.

Cahuita appears to by a typical Caribbean beach town with mostly gravel roads tracked by stray dogs, and at least one offer for weed or "guide" services every time you walk down the main street in town. Everyone was friendly and not to pushy as long as you keep your distance.

The park was the best part for me. You will see monkeys and sloths in the trees, although without binoculars, its hard to see much. On the ground are various crabs and lizards. It doubtful that you will see the toucans or least durinf July when I was there. It is best to prepare for rain with an umbrella.

Jessica and Gabor are THE perfect hosts: they are very welcoming and caring of their guests.
The coconut love is in a very quiet area of Cahuita, five-minutes- walk from one of the most beautiful beaches: Playa Negra.
The cleaning and the linen changing of the apartment is to the highest degree of a five star hotel. The apartment is like in the pictures and there are a cosy garden and a relaxing hammock at guests' disposal.
The breakfast are unforgettable: Gabor is definitively the breakfast's wizard!
Cahuita is a place to go during your visit in Costarica: only one suggestion if you go there during rainy season take a repellent with you.

  • We enjoyed our 3-night stay in Cahuita with Jessica and Gabor! They were welcoming hosts and didn't hesitate to answer our questions or give us candid advice about food/activity options in the area. The apartment was clean, spacious and comfortable, and the kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed. The breakfast served every morning was delicious (we would recommend the french toast). The town is small, so everything is within walking distance. Playa Negra was only a few minutes away. Cahuita National Park has lovely hiking trails and we saw tons of wildlife while we were there. It was fairly easy to get to Puerto Viejo and there were some gorgeous beaches further down the coast. Our time on the Caribbean coast was very relaxing and was the perfect way to end our trip to Costa Rica. We would definitely recommend this apartment to anyone visiting Cahuita!

  • Very nice place to stay, the hosts are wonderful people!
The parking is a bit tight for a medium size car, but not too bad either, it's better if you have a small size car. The room was in good condition, the fridge made a popping noise when turning on or off the cooling process, and takes a little while to cool stuff.
There is no Coconut Love sign on the outside of the apartments, so look for the wooden fence.
The breakfast was good too, french toasts, eggs, yogurt, fruit salads, coffee, orange juice, very complete.
The neighborhood is not very pretty, but you'll be fine, nothing to worry about, only a few dogs on the surroundings.

  • We had just a lovely stay in cahuita with Jessica and Gabor. The apartment was very clean and comfortably spacious for two of us. Breakfast in the morning on the deck was a very bright way to start the day. French press coffee, very freshly squeezed juice, eggs and fruit. We loved quiet mornings in the hammock and crowing back at the roosters. jess and Gabor were very forthcoming about advice and recommendations about travel, activity, dining, whatever. Only drawback I can note has to do with the town itself, just a heads up- groceries are difficult to come by if you can't get to Sunday's farmers market. Cahuita is beautiful and quiet, perfect for some r and r.

  • As we promised our recommendation in German (Thanks for the unforgettable stay in Cahuita): All jene, die echtes karibisches Feeling erleben wollen, sollten auf jeden Fall in Cahuita bleiben (Puerto Viejo ist doch schon sehr "amerikanisiert") und im Coconut Love B&B nächtigen.

  • Jessica and Gabor are THE hosts that you should have when visiting the Carribean side of Costa Rica. They really did everything possible to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable! Highly recommended!

  • We enjoyed our stay here very much! Jessica and Gabor were out of town, so their parents were acting as backup hosts and were terrific. Everything went very smoothly, and the breakfast was made to order each day and delicious, served on the upstairs balcony surrounded by fruit trees.

The bed was very comfortable, kitchen had everything we needed, 15 minute walk to downtown Cahuita (such that it is). Internet was very solid. Shower is warm, not hot. If you need a hot shower in this climate, you're nuts.

They even came in and cleaned the room after our second day, which was totally unexpected and not really necessary but much appreciated.

Overall, a terrific choice for Cahuita.
