I had a great experience at Tricia's place. The location was extremely convenient, being only 1 block from the Metro. The area is vibrant, with plenty of great coffee shops and restaurants. There are also convenience stores and groceries nearby. The apartment itself is nicely furnished and clean, with a very comfortable bed, and the price is very reasonable given the cost of area hotels. The only thing to be aware of is that accessing the apartment does require maneuvering a manual garage door, so if you have mobility issues, you should contact the host first.
I would highly recommend staying here for leisure travel to Washington DC.
We had a great experience staying here. Tricia made us feel very welcome and was very helpful with local restaurant recommendations, etc. The location is ideal for walking around the U Street/14th Street area where there are many lovely shops, restaurants, outdoor cafes and clubs; it's a very exciting area with lots people on the streets day and night - great for people watching. The studio is cozy and the bed is comfy and Tricia puts out juice and snacks for your first morning breakfast. This was our first airbnb experience and definitely won't be our last.
The small apartment was perfect for our flying visit to Washington DC. It was exactly as photographed and closer to the tube that it looks from the map. The subway is literally across the street. Check in instructions and directions from the airport were step by step and perfectly clear. Made our short stay extremely stress free and we were able to maximise our time in the city. If I were to return to the city I would definitely book the same place again. Small touches like a little breakfast made us feel so welcome. Thumbs up review! Thanks!
This place was amazing, location location location. So close to the metro, and perfect for discovering DC! close to 14th street and Ust, which made going out for dinner just a perfect stroll. Very much reccomend the place!
Service and communication with host was amazing, ready to help with any questions, but also a lot of privacy!
One of the most amazing Airbnb experiences I've had. Wonderful neighborhood and room, and an even more wonderful host.
Tricia sent us a very easy to follow details on how to find the place a few days prior to arrival. The apt is very close to a metro station, also very close to many restaurants, bars, shops, trader joe's etc. Very easy to get around. We were able to find street parking but she also had a parking spot available for an added fee, which she let us use to unload our stuff when we got there. The place is clean and neatly organized. Had plenty of towels and kitchen stuff, though we didn't really cook while we were there. It was cold in DC while we were there and the basement was probably colder than the rest of the building so I had to ask Tricia to turn up the heat a couple of times (temp controlled remotely by her) which she did for us promptly and was so nice about. She even dropped off an extra blanket for us to use, which we ended up not needing after she changed the temp setting for us. She was really easy to get a hold of over text messages. Overall a great experience staying at her place. The footsteps upstairs was pretty prominent but we didn't really mind, if you care about noises you might want to take a note of that. The only thing we wish were different would be the wifi strength. It was pretty spotty. We ended up using our smartphones while in the apt, or brought our laptop to coffee shops / convention center which made things just a tad bit less convenient since we were there for a work conference and needed internet frequently. I do have to stress that the internet thing was a very small factor though, because Tricia was an excellent host. We were able to make do just fine.
I don't know how I can put into words how perfect of a location this apartment was in! You're in the middle of a block, so on one end is a Trader Joe's for stocking up on snacks and on the other is the Metro for getting around, and you're so close to anything you else could want. There are so many restaurants right up the street…even more if you don't mind walking a few blocks. We always felt safe walking around late at night; it's just an overall great area of the city. You're right in the middle of the Vintage District too, if you like that kind of thing. I'm so glad we chose this location!
The apartment itself is so cozy and you feel right at home. The bed is really comfortable and the bathroom was nice and roomy. We met Tricia the first day and she was so nice and welcoming; she was also very helpful with suggestions throughout our trip. She is just the perfect host!
Stay in the cool (and convenient) part of town…seriously! I will be recommending this place to everyone I know that's headed toward DC. We enjoyed ourselves so much here!

About the Host, Too
I am a fun, diverse person who enjoys traveling, love to learn about other people's cultures, a foody, wine lover and believes music is what brings life to us. I am multilingual who speaks Spanish, Italian, some French and can understand Portuguese. My top places so far that I have visited and could go back to are Thailand, Turkey, Italy, France, Barcelona, South Korea, Roatan, Bocas del Toro, Puerto Rico and the Greek Islands. But I could probably visit many other places, as traveling is a passion for me! I have stayed in many type of lodges/hotels and I believe the best ones are the one that you feel comfortable and at home. I really hope you enjoy the stay at our place and will be a home away from home.
