About this listing
Sylvette's riad situated in the medina is a perfect way to experience marakesh. Not only was the location great (it's not too hard to find and near the Bab Ksour gate), but we were also taken great care of. The breakfast that was included in our stay was wonderful- it was also perfect as we had lots of excursions planned and sylvettes hosts in marakesh were very flexible in relation to when we wanted to have an early start to the day. The riad itself is beautiful. We decided to rent the whole riad with use of one room and it was quiet and perfect from when we wanted to get away from the hustle and bustle of the medina. Our rooms were cleaned every day and the riad was spotless. Lastly although sylvettes was not in marakesh, she made sure to cater to our every need via email and was very responsive and helpful. I would 100% recommend sylvettes riad to anyone traveling to marakesh- it was the perfect accommodation.
Hassan is great helps u in every way and is not the kind of guy looking for kickback or to screw u over. He is totally genuine. This is not an entire private apartment but its a riad. It's a room in a shared building. But i liked this place. Hassan sent a taxi to pick me up and Sylvette was very nice too.

This is by far the the worst place I have ever been, Sylvette Alard Riad's is simply disgusting.
We got welcomed by the host called Laila, I rented one room for me and the other one for my mother. The first night I slept next to my mother cause she was sick and need to take care of her. As soon as i woke up Sylvette Alard wrote me a message "why did you not sleep in your room?" while I had rented this room.
Sylvette Alard is simply a person without any manners.
The next morning I tried to put the lamp on but this one as already broken so I told this to Laila that we have no light.
Laila told us that she knew that the lightwas broken but Sylvette Alard does not want to replace it. A few hours after this Sylvette Alard messaged me again "Laila told me that you broke the light" wich was not the case.
In my opinion Laila is telling us a different story then to th owner Sylvette Alard wich s very bad to treat your visitors like that.
Besides all of this, I broke the coffeepot in the kitchen cause it slipped out of my hands.
I went to Laila and told her that I broke it and I was willing to buy a new one, she told me that this was a good idea.
You can already guess what happend, Sylvette Alard wrote me another message "You broke the coffeepot and now we need a new one for 60 euro".
This was not a senseo machine or what so ever this was just a simple coffeepot that Sylvette Alard wanted 60 euro for, more then my daily stay!!!
I was curious to know if the breakfast they served us in the morning was fresh so I checked the firdge and what I saw was horrible!!!!
The pancakes had green dots due to expiring the date, Laila just warmed them up for the visitors.
Besides this, the kitchen was half boken, the stone was just broken into pieces, we only got nw towels the first day and the 3rd day, the heater in mainroom does not work properly, the remote for the airco does not have battery's I had to buy them myself.
The bath in te livingroom is dark, there is no light!
It is a cheap stay but it is not worth it al all. Because of this very bad service and xpirience with Sylvette Alard I took pictures of the rotten pancakes, the broken down kitchen, the broken lights and will spread them all over the internet so people will never expireince what we had.
I hope I informed you, kind regards.
It was soooo cool to be in this beautiful riad, we felt very comfortable in this lovely place. Leila did great breakfast and Hassan was very friendly as well. A big plus has been the heater in the room, cause at night in January it was quite cold. :)
Looked exactly like on the pictures, our favourite place was the roof top terrace... At all it was a very quiet place and we relaxed from work very good.
For driving from airport to the riad it was worth to go with the driver, named Aziz, due to the fact that the riad is hard to find the first time (you'll get used to it very fast!). For going back we took of course our own cab, as we knew the neighboorhood better.
I definitely would recommend this place!
Sylvette's riad is so beautiful and in a great central location. Although Sylvette wasn't there personally she always quickly replied to all messages and answered perfectly all our questions and requests.
We were very well looked after by Leila who made us lovely breakfasts and cleaned our room every morning and Hassan who was invaluable in helping us navigate and settle into Marrakech. He escorted us to the places whenever we need it.
I would 100% recommend staying here - you can feel a real touch of Marrakech there.
Riad Dar Sabbah was a real highlight of our trip to Morocco. It's a beautiful home, comfortably furnished and in a perfect location. Right in the heart of the medina and in walking distance to all major attractions. Our local hosts, especially Hassan, were generous and helpful.
