This is a particularly difficult review to write, I think the main question you should ask yourself before booking is, how much are you willing to pay for a view.. It's unquestionably stunning, and waking up to it every day goes a long way to appease the things that are wrong. I guess we came at a bad time, there was just us and one other couple staying. The atmosphere was just odd, it felt a bit like being at your nans house. The manager was overwhelming and a tad rude, however the other staff were very sweet. It's expensive and other than the niceness of the view I'm not sure it's worth it. The food was pretty bad, and not always available, on the card in the room it says dinner served from 7.30-10pm, we were asked one evening of we wanted anything around 5pm we said we would come down later to order as we were relaxing in our room (the main reason we came) we went down at 7.20 and were told we could only order fried rice or noodles as it was too late for anything else, we were disappointed but said okay, we would wait 5 minutes as we had planned to eat dinner with the other couple. When they came down at 7.25 we were swiftly told we were all too late and all we could order was toast or a sandwich... For the money we were paying this is totally unacceptable , particularly as there is no where else you can go for food. I ordered cheese on toast which by the time it came out all we could do was laugh. It looked like a 5 year old had made it. I feel sad being negative as our room was gorgeous and dealing with pri from the beginning was easy and efficient. I can't help but feel it would be easy to right the wrongs, a new manager for a start and a better chef. We ended up travelling on with the other couple so it wasn't a total loss, however I think we all left feeling a little bit out of pocket.
Although the hotel is a bit of a trek to get to, it was completely worth it. I felt very relaxed from the moment I arrived. It was a wonderful and peaceful place to stay and decompress. The views from the room and dining area were amazing. The only criticism I have it that the hotel manager was quite bothersom, and overbearing. He would not leave me alone and would interrupt me while having breakfast, and while I was reading in the common room. He even bothered me while I was trying to watch a movie and having my evening tea. He needs to remember one of the main reasons guests stay here is to relax and not be bothered ever few minutes. Aside from that hotel manager, Club Lespri is a beautiful place to stay, great food, great accommodations and a great price. The rest of the staff were kind and wonderful. You may have to tell the manager not to bother you. I had a the opportunity to meet the hotel Owners (husband and wife) They are wonderful people and I wish them great success.
Great house. Just the road is super rough....
We had a fantastic stay at lespri. The drive up to the hotel is quite insane and be prepared to tell the driver that the road is super rough and the best option is either a tuktuk or a jeep. We were given the best room and a dinner was whipped together for us within half an hour of our arrival. Lalith was the sweetest and most attentive host and we were overall overwhelmed by the level of service and friendliness. The view from the window is stunning. It was worth every bump (literally). The sound of the monks praying along with the evening thunderstorms made for a fantastic atmosphere. We spent the day relaxing at the pool and lounge chairs were pulled out for us. For those keen on catching some sun, the pool is ideally located and gets sun all day. We can highly recommend this for anybody who wants a break from the city or just wants to enjoy a spectacular view with excellent service.
It's really a surprise experience for our family and I think it will be a surprise for all the tourists who want some unique experience. The most impressive parts of our staying are the sound of the wind at night mixed with the praying of the monks early in the morning from the temple in the valley. It gives me a sense of sacred. Also on our way to find the club, the difficulty we overcame reminds me of an old Chinese saying: Greatest views locate at the most unreachable places. The staff's hospitality makes you feel like home. The design of the windows is the highlight of the building. We didn't see Pri in person but heard her voice on the phone. She was really nice and helpful. We'll surely recommend my friends come and stay.
This place is a bit of piece of heaven on earth. You need to visit this place to believe it. The view is mesmerizing. When we look out of the window, we see all clouds below the property. Only negative about this place is the reach to the property. Initially, for first time it really looks very difficult, but once you reach the place, you really feel it's worth.
The property is well maintained and the care taker 'Lalit' is a real cool guy. He followed up with us and guided us to the property. Once we checked in, he spoke to us about our food preferences to ensure we get a good meal as per our taste. Kudos to Lalit and his team to make our stay a memorable one.
Your review and the experience is an encouragement, and certainly make us even more hospitable in our efforts to look after all our guests and giving them comfort in every way. We are happy to learn that Lalith was very helpful in looking after your needs and had made your stay comfortable. The roads Authority has taken over the construction and they are concreting it in stages. and few parts are already done. It would be really great if you could kindly make a review on trip advisor when you do have the time. My staff joins me in seeing you over again in the near future. May you be blessed with good health and good luck in the new year!
