The Space

Ideal for groups travelling with children or extended family!

The Victorian Room comfortably sleeps four with the full size spring coiled feather bed as well as a mahogany twin trundle sleigh bed.

“Faux Bois” or the French translation “false wood” which was of high fashion in the late 1900’s when interior decorators commissioned artists to hand paint patterns of wood using feathers and wooden block rollers to “tromp l’oyes”, or “fool the eye”. This room reflects the look of maple painted over a poplar fireplace, crown mold and the interior side of quarter sawn solid oak doors.

Experience a clawfoot tub/shower and pedistool sink beneath Tiffany style stained glass windows circa 1904 in our original family bath.

This room is air conditioned and has free Wi-Fi and a smart t.v.
For your convenience, there is a fully equipped kitchen with laundry facilities. A hot gourmet breakfast is served in our elegant dining room or on warm sunny days on our back patio bistro where you can dine and cajol day or night!

  • Kate and her partner were fantastic hosts. The Manor is a splendid building rich in history. A great place to stay after a visit to Fallingwater. Would love to drop by again in our next journey to the states.

About
Your host, Karen and Kermit, are an accomplished innkeepers, and will strive to make your stay enjoyable and relaxing. They are well-versed in the history of the house, and will give you a tour of the Manor upon your arrival. Pat Hill reached up to scratch her head at an antique auction held in the back yard of the Brennen estate, and accidentally placed the winning bid, becoming only it’s second owner! "It’s been a labor of love with fastidious attention to detail ever since.' The restoration process has been painstaking and detailed with the help of many local artisans and craftsmen. From cleaning 100 years of coal soot from brick and mortar to, repair of Tiffany style stained glass to replacement of fixtures to the final touches of master painters and decor. It's filled with the Hill art, antiques gun and uniform war memorabilia worthy of any museum. See the rare pre-prohibition find stashed under the staircase from the Henry Clay Frick Old Farm Rye Distillery. The mansion and guest house has been restored as closely to original as possible while maintaining it’s architectural integrity and yet updating it to today’s safety standards including handicap accessibility. “Hill, a New York fashion model who was born in the Pittsburgh area, poured more than three quarters of a million dollars into it, transforming the estate into a luxurious bed and breakfast in the ‘90’s.” – CBS ~ Old World Charm meets First Class Amenities.
