We had an amazing weekend at the Manor. The host recommended that we switch rooms to accommodate 3 adults and an infant, which resulted in us staying on the 2nd floor of the guest house. It was a great move for us, as it included a full sized kitchen, 2 bedrooms and a private bath. Mark, the Innkeeper and Michael, the Chef are PHENOMENAL and Pat was wonderful at keeping everyone comfortable.
The Eleanor House was a great place for us to stop over the new years with our cats in tow (as we traveled from Wisconsin). Clean and well equipped so no complaints there. We were blocked off from the additional rooms which was a bit strange, but that's fine, we only needed one bedroom. (A reduced price would've been nice for that though) HOWEVER, neither on airbnb nor when picking up the keys day of did anyone mention that there were people living in the basement! We could hear the TV immediately, then full conversations, then the barking small dog. We weren't at the house much as we were out enjoying Ohiopyle State Park but it certainly wasn't quite the 'whole house' and was actually quite awkward for a couple days of romantic getaway. We felt as though we had to whisper and tip toe around - if we could hear them, they could hear us. This home is lovely, but not conducive with two levels of living like an apartment - it would need a lot more sound proofing! Other than the awkward noise issues, the home was lovely and comfortable.
Beautifully restored B&B, and our hosts, Kermit and Karen, were absolutely fantastic! We were even able to eat breakfast with the owner, who gave us a personal tour of the manor. The location was perfect for us, as we were visiting family in Scottdale, and we plan to stay here again. The three people in our party fit comfortably in the spacious downstairs unit of the guest house, a the gas fireplace kept us warm and toasty.
We had a fantastic time at South Broadway Manor, Michael's attention to detail & consideration was exceptional.
We had a very comfortable stay there, with my only regret being unable to learn ALL the history behind this historic and beautiful home from James. James is a gold mine of knowledge and I would recommend allowing half an hour or so to go on a tour of the home.
If we go to Fallingwater again, we will stay at South Broadway Manor again. Michael was the perfect host.
We especially loved the fresh baked cookies & home made lemonade on arrival!
Not to be missed! The South Broadway Manor provides it ALL! From the exquisitely restored home, to the impeccable furnishings, to the gracious welcome and entertaining conversation, Michael and Pat made our evening and morning most memorable. We stayed in the federal room which was an absolute treat - from the historic artifacts to what I must say is the most comfortable bed I have EVER slept in to the exquisite balcony. But as is often the case, the most memorable and enjoyable aspect was the time spent getting to know our hosts. We enjoyed a late evening conversing and sharing stories about old houses and renovations - the good and the bad. The breakfast was to die for - paramount flavor and service. To sum it up, our stay was an absolute pleasure. Thank you Pat and Michael for making us feel so welcome and special.
Kate and her partner were fantastic hosts. The Manor is a splendid building rich in history. A great place to stay after a visit to Fallingwater. Would love to drop by again in our next journey to the states.
Rick is the best, this place rocks, love it!
