The Space

Relax and unwind in this beautifully restored Georgian mansion circa 1904.

You don’t need to be a history buff to appreciate this exquisite three room master suite and private balcony.

The Federal Room features a working fireplace, central a/c, wi-fi internet and smart TV’s, luxury bedding of 100% Egyptian cotton sheets, down pillows and comforters.

The Federal Room features a showcase display of Union blue Civil War and Indian War patterned uniforms circa 1902 worthy of any museum. A “Blood and Fire” flag. motto of the Salvation Army, a 58-caliber Springfield cap and ball rifle model circa 1860 as well as canteens, bugle and original Frederick Remmington art.

A spectacular walk-in closet full of antique military uniforms, antique Remmington, Colt and Smith and Weston pistols, guns and rifles. Brittish military helmets and swords is more than words can describe.

Guess what painting the safe is concealed behind, is it the portrait of General Meade?

The armoire reveals a smart TV/ DVD for wi-fi or Netflix.

The mahogany fireplace and solid oak doors give this massive regal room its well-deserved stature of the original “master bedroom suite”.

The library adjoining the Federal Room leads out to a private front balcony extending the entire length of the house flanked by two large Corinthian columns.
This room accommodates families with small children on a pull out cot or simply use as a separate office for privacy or reading.
The coachman’s uniform (framed) was found in the coach house. Fashionable at the time, oak doors and trim were hand painted in” faux bois” with special rollers and feathers and required a special technique which has been completely restored with the original tools found in the carriage house.

The Federal Room master bath features a Kohler Jacuzzi tub with poet Longfellow quotes scripted on hand painted tiles of wild prairie flowers. The adjoining jade marble vanity and hand painted sink with gilt fixtures ad elegance to this exquisite private master bath..

  • We had an amazing weekend at the Manor. The host recommended that we switch rooms to accommodate 3 adults and an infant, which resulted in us staying on the 2nd floor of the guest house. It was a great move for us, as it included a full sized kitchen, 2 bedrooms and a private bath. Mark, the Innkeeper and Michael, the Chef are PHENOMENAL and Pat was wonderful at keeping everyone comfortable.

  • We had a fantastic time at South Broadway Manor, Michael's attention to detail & consideration was exceptional.
We had a very comfortable stay there, with my only regret being unable to learn ALL the history behind this historic and beautiful home from James. James is a gold mine of knowledge and I would recommend allowing half an hour or so to go on a tour of the home.
If we go to Fallingwater again, we will stay at South Broadway Manor again. Michael was the perfect host.
We especially loved the fresh baked cookies & home made lemonade on arrival!

  • Not to be missed! The South Broadway Manor provides it ALL! From the exquisitely restored home, to the impeccable furnishings, to the gracious welcome and entertaining conversation, Michael and Pat made our evening and morning most memorable. We stayed in the federal room which was an absolute treat - from the historic artifacts to what I must say is the most comfortable bed I have EVER slept in to the exquisite balcony. But as is often the case, the most memorable and enjoyable aspect was the time spent getting to know our hosts. We enjoyed a late evening conversing and sharing stories about old houses and renovations - the good and the bad. The breakfast was to die for - paramount flavor and service. To sum it up, our stay was an absolute pleasure. Thank you Pat and Michael for making us feel so welcome and special.

About
Your host, Mark, is an accomplished innkeeper/cook and will strive to make your stay enjoyable and relaxing. He is well-versed in the history of the house, and will give you a tour of the Manor upon your arrival. Pat Hill reached up to scratch her head at an antique auction held in the back yard of the Brennen estate, and accidentally placed the winning bid, becoming only it’s second owner! "It’s been a labor of love with fastidious attention to detail ever since.' The restoration process has been painstaking and detailed with the help of many local artisans and craftsmen. From cleaning 100 years of coal soot from brick and mortar to, repair of Tiffany style stained glass to replacement of fixtures to the final touches of master painters and decor. It's filled with the Hill art, antiques gun and uniform war memorabilia worthy of any museum. See the rare pre-prohibition find stashed under the staircase from the Henry Clay Frick Old Farm Rye Distillery. The mansion and guest house has been restored as closely to original as possible while maintaining it’s architectural integrity and yet updating it to today’s safety standards including handicap accessibility. “Hill, a New York fashion model who was born in the Pittsburgh area, poured more than three quarters of a million dollars into it, transforming the estate into a luxurious bed and breakfast in the ‘90’s.” – CBS ~ Old World Charm meets First Class Amenities.
