Hi, Blair was a perfect host! Quick responses, ready with a solution when necessary. We were in NYC for 5 nights, the appartment was very OK. Yes, maybe small, but still had all comfort needed. The appartment is ideally located!
Hope to be back one day!
Carmen & Maarten
The place was very small but the other reviews noted this.
The main area seemed cleaned but not sure the sheets were cleaned.
Our bag was stolen the 1st day we arrived and needed a new set of keys. We didn't receive the keys from Blair until 8 hours after requesting them, which means we were locked out for 8 hours. She then not only made us come to her, when it was convenient for her, to get the extra set of keys but tried to charge me $50 when the policy states $25. She then also requested I make myself a copy because she had "no time". As I let her know my dissatisfaction with her policies in this situation she threatened to not give me the keys at all, meaning I would have no access to my belongings at 10 o’clock at night.
Lastly, she tried to keep $90 cleaning fee from my deposit which I protested as I took pictures of the "clean" apartment before I left along with another $7 for a key copy. Air BnB thankfully didn't allow her any of my deposit
If you don't have to deal with her AT ALL the place may be accommodating for your needs. The area is great so if you could find something around here, that's not here, you will have a nice stay. :)
Please see my 220 positive reviews :) jennifer is a difficult person who left the apartment in really bad condition. My cleaning lady called me from the apartment to tell me how dirty they left it. She lost her keys and we gave her a replacement set. It was very late at night and we could not get copies so I told her to please leave the set in the apartment and she agreed to get keys copied in the morning. She did not leave original set even though she promised.
The flat was wonderful and just what we expected. We stayed for three nights in considerable comfort for a good price. The location is great, the surrounding area is very fun and other areas of Manhattan are not far, whether walking or taking the subway. The host did not communicate with us as well as we would have liked. Check-in and check-out procedure was very unclear.
Blair was able to accommodate me in super short notice. Awesome host!
I stayed in the flat for a month in the summer and although the flat is small it has everything in it for a comfortable stay. I was very impressed how easy and straight forward it was communicating with Blair. She was a great host and made me feel super comfortable knowing that it was easy to contact here if I were to have any problems (which I did not ) . East Village is also a fun diverse area with many great spots near by. Was very happy with everything . Thank you Blair
Blair was a lovely host for this apartment. The apartment was clean and exactly as the pictures are. The East Village is a great location, close to lots of cool bars and restaurants. The air condition works well, as it was really hot when we stayed in July! The apartment is very tiny, particularly the bathroom, and my husband and I felt quite cramped after our 11 days stay there, however NY apartments are very small. The bed is also not very comfortable. Overall if you plan on spending a lot of time out and about the city this is a secure great location to come back to.
My husband and I enjoyed our stay. I really hope we can return soon. Blair was very helpful with grocery store info (Trader Joe's a few blocks away) and public transport info (subway stop a block away). The apt was very clean, and although it is tiny, it had a full size fridge and all we needed for me to make some GF meals. The mattress is very firm, which we are used to but might be difficult for some people. The courtyard was a big plus so that my husband could smoke his pipe in the evening. I would recommend for one person or a couple. There is a bar right outside the front (secure buzzer entry) but the apt is down a hall, through the courtyard, and toward the back of the building, so there's no noise from it. There are some restaurants a couple blocks away, a deli right across the street for necessities, and a few celebs live in the neighborhood (my husband saw Tom Cruise one morning). Overall, an excellent stay.
We got to NYC six days after Sandy hit the city, and enjoyed very much our stay at the East Village apartment. Despite it being a bit small for the four of us (Blair had warned me it'd be a tight fit beforehand), it suited us just fine (especially because we basically just stayed there long enough to shower and sleep). Blair was very thoughtful and always quick to reply whenever I had a query, which put me at ease from the start. The location is the main feature here-- there's a market about half a block from the apartment, and the L train is one (rather short) block away, not to mention the bars, restaurants and pubs close-by. The bathroom is tiny (but okay) and heating doesn't have a thermostat (that'd come in handy when it's not too cold out), but the wi-fi was great, as was our overall experience.
We had a great stay in New York despite the storm Sandy.
The flat is located in the east village, close to a lot of good restaurants and bars. It is tiny, but for a couple on holiday or between 3 (potentially 4 very good friends) it is a very affordable option.
The flat was very clean.
Our area lost power on Monday night (in the middle of our stay) and Blair was very helpful and made sure we were ok and she even offered us to stay at her own place.
