This is a great place to enjoy Lima. All the other reviews are very accurate. We have no hesitation is giving this top marks and we thoroughly recommend staying in this airbnb.
Carla is extremely easy to communicate with and very helpful with information. The house is lovely and in a beautiful area. The room I had was on the third floor and had its own bathroom. Just outside is the sitting area where WiFi is accessible. The view from there is terrific. Sra. Rosa and Brigida were kind and helpful.
Carla's house was a fantastic stay in hip Barranco. The view alone is worth the cost! Carla was not there but I was greeted by her super sweet mother and housekeeper who both took great care of my friend and I. The location is perfect for Lima and the room was sensationally clean and cozy. I would recommend this airbnb stay to anyone.
Our stay at Carla's home was wonderful. They are very thoughtful hosts. Everything is very clean and quite. The view at the ocean is a gem. The breakfast is simple but sufficient.
Barranco we only can recommend. There is a Café "Sofa" near by where you get a good capuccino and good food - more European like - very cozy and a good service. But we ate in a lot of different places, even very siimple ones and the food was always good.
We didn't feel unsafe once. Even in the center of Lima where we experienced tons of people without any rushing or pushing. You learn just to go with the flow. We loved also a ceremony in the huge San Francisco church. Everything was so alive and joyful. Kids could play around and nobody felt disturbed.
Thanks to Carla and her wonderful family for the wonderful experience we had. Also we can recommend André, who picked us up at the airport at night. He made the time getting to Barranco easy for us, explaining some of the highlights of Lima on the way - big Thank You
Only I wouldn't recommend as an older person to stay in Lima longer then 3 days during the winter time. Lima is very foggy, cold and you can't get your clothes dry.
Carla was very accommodating! She consistently e-mailed me throughout my trip to make sure my arrival, time spent at the house, and departure went smoothly. She is a great host and her family and housekeeper are so friendly and welcoming! She also recommended some delicious restaurants to me. Best of all her sweet housekeeper taught me how to make fried plantains! What a comfortable and pleasant experience!
Beautiful house with stunning ocean view, nice housemates, great location, and the house is always kept clean. Really nice, warm family vibe. I always enjoyed feeling like I was coming "home" if not to my specific home, nice when you're living abroad.
Had a chance to stay at Carla's and her mom's home in Lima. Amazing location, awesome ocean view, lots of shopping around. Carla arranged a driver to pick me up at the airport which was very reasonable as Lima is a Huge City. Thanks Carla!!
Eveything was, as expected, nice and clean.
The location is great in front of the ocean and not so far from the trolley which leads you directly in the very centre of Lima !
Un lugar para repetir, unas vistas muy bonitas, lugares tranquilos y seguros alrededor, seguro que vuelvo pronto.
This was our first visit to Peru and quite frankly we were totally confused about where to stay and how safe the districts were. So I just went along with what I read in the reviews and Tikay's reviews were far ahead of any other places I was reading about. The reviews were if anything understated . There are only two things you need to know. First, In Lima the prettiest area is the Malecon. There are bus tours that travel along for sight seeing, there are bicycle tours through the Malecon, Peruvians visit for romantic vistas and walks. And acually there are many many more activities. Now the second, and this is all you need to know, Tikay is located right on the Malecon. You walk out the door and you are there, you look out from the patio on top and you can see so many sights, the sunset, the fishing boats, the yachts from the marina. We stayed for over a month and never got tired of the view. My wife was so pleased that the location was also so close to four Catholic churches only 5 to 15 minutes walk to all of them. Carla and family were very gracious hosts and we will treasure our experience with them.
