Surroundings under a 5 minute walk include: A few steps and you're on the little passenger ferry (Aqua Bus) to Granville Island, any Bus, the hop-on/off bus,The Burrard St Bridge, The Seawall, Granville Street (night-life centre), Italian & sushi restaurants, the beaches, and 6 coffee shops. Surroundings within a 10 minute walk: Robson Street (Shopping!), Davie Street (groceries, nail salons etc), The Art Gallery, Historic Vancouver Hotel, the Skytrain, Yaletown, English Bay.
Gastown and China town you can get to easily by taking one bus (the apartment is only 20 meters from the bus stop). You can also walk there in approx 23 minutes.
Your view is of the Burrard Street Bridge. And Burrard Street is the main street that runs through the city.
It is a Concrete building: You won't hear your neighbours and they won't hear you. (within reason of course!) The unit is at the end of a long hallway on the 5th floor.
It is a no-smoking building. No pets.
There is a bike shop to rent bicycles in the same building complex, and you are 20 meters from a main bus stop.

Melanie was a great host. Great communication and she bent over backwards to ensure that I had a good stay. The apartment was exactly as expected based on the photos. On the day after I checked in, I had a minor issue with the hot water. Melanie’s response was amazing - she had a plumber on standby within an hour and also proposed a quick fix in the meantime that worked perfectly. The location is fantastic – 10-minute walk to Yaletown, 10-minute bus ride to Gastown and minutes from Granville. The apartment was a little loud but is expected given its prime, downtown location.

Melanie's apartment was fantastic. The bed was extraordinarily comfortable, the balcony was wonderful to spend evenings outside overlooking the city and we enjoyed cooking a bit in the kitchen. This is the first place I'd look to stay every time I come to Vancouver.
My boyfriend and I stayed 3 nights at Mélanie's place in August 2013. The place was super clean, very well located and fully equiped. Mélanie's communications were great and she really made sure all our expectations in terms of arrival and departure time were met, she really did a fantastic job. She is a lovely lady and ensures her guests are well received. We really appreciated our stay at Mélanie's place and I would recommend the experience.
