My friend and I really enjoy our stay in Benedetta's apartment. As is described, the apartment is only 10-minutes-walking-distance away from the railway station and pretty convenient to the surrounding tourist attractions. Restaurants, cafeterias and supermarkets are all easily approached. The apartment itself is quite spacious，tidy and well-equipped. The host Benedetta is quite friendly and is always available once you have any problem. If my friends come to Florence, I will recommend this apartment without any hesitation.
Benedetta is a lovely lady who was most friendly and helpful in making recommendations or accomodating what ever I needed to make my stay most pelasant. the room was clean and exactly as it appears on the picture, the views from the room were spactacular. The palace is gorgous and situated most beautifully on the river and quite central to everything Florence. I had the best time and this was partially due to where I stayed and my host. thanks to Benedetta for sharing her beautiful home.
I have only positive things to say about our stay. Benedetta is a charming, helpful, uncomplicated hostess. She gave us a list of her favorite places in Florence and gave us tips on restaurants. The lovely apartment is within walking distance from all touristic hotspots. Our bedroom was clean and quiet... everything was perfect. However, the bed is a little bit on the small - narrow - side. It only fit two adults if they are slim and/or are fine sleeping pressed against each other.
I highly recommend this place and would book it again anytime.
Benedetta was a wonderful host and spent time acquainting us with Florence, recommending restaurants and areas that we might not have visited otherwise. We very much enjoyed waking to a the panaramic view of the Arno and walking home to the apartment at night along the river. Thank you Benedetta for a lovely stay.
Benedetta is nice, warm-hearted and easygoing. She greeted me with a big smile and always asked me if there was anything i needed. The location of the apartment is fantastic! It is easy to find, with only 10-15 mins walk to Florence SMN Train Station and it sits right next to the river therefore very close to everywhere, especially Plazzo Vecchio, Uffizi Gallery & Ponte Vecchio. You can have a morning walk along the river everyday to enjoy the romantic atmosphere of Florence. The place of Benedetta is large and clean and have enough space to put my luggage. And there is elevator! Elevator is important to me as I had a big luggage. Oh yes, and the cookies made by Benedetta are delicious! I recommend her place sincerely.
I do not recommend this place. It reeks of cigarette smoke as Benedetta smokes heavily as is mentioned in another review. It seems as if little of the tourist money is spent on keeping up the place. It is dark and dingy, many light bulbs missing and the rug in my room was filthy. The furniture is shoddy and not repaired. The "curtains" were crooked and broken running on a piece of rope. The kitchen table still dirty. And the coffee pot was malfunctioning. I emailed about an iron and was told there "is an iron but it is broken." No further effort put forth to accommodate a routine request. All of this communication was done via email as she was not present and it would sometimes take her up to 6 hours to reply.
Benedetta never mentioned that she would not be present which is relative since all of her reviews are based on the interaction with and information from her. I was also not informed until two days later that I could contact the guy who gave me the key with any questions. Which meant an international call or text.
I was told my door only locked with the "key" so I did not take it with me at 3 AM when I went to the bathroom. I was locked out with no phone or any way to get help. AT ALL. Mortified and scared and went into the Private area to see if there was something I could do. As it turns out my room doesn't have a key. It is a broken off door knob with the hardware removed. And there were several of those laying around. Which means access to my room was available for anyone staying there.
I mentioned the coffee pot malfunctioning to Benedetta thru email as a courtesy and this became a very negative interaction as she refused to believe me. I thought it was that the carafe was not the original since it was difficult to remove and insert and therefore the water was not draining continuously, and here is what Benedetta said to me via email, "So, is there any need to know the "truth" about my coffee machine? Since I assure you that the carafe is the original one does it really make any difference since you think the opposite?"
I solved all of my issues myself, but it was Benedetta's extremely poor and untimely communication that soured my stay. That and the shoddy look of the place.
Here are Benedetta's parting words to a paying guest in her house, "A suggestion: try to see the bright "side of the moon", your attitude doesn't sound like you're enjoying life."
I deeply enjoy life but I did not enjoy staying at Benedetta's apartment.

I am a natural born traveller, I felt in love with social and cognitive science then I took a graduation in Cultural Anthropology. Later, photography and my love for the sea drove me to the sailing field and onboard life.
I've been sailing for six years: Egypt, Polinesia, the Caribbbean, Equador, Azores and many others, five transatlantic and one pacific ocean crossings.
In all these years I've been hosted all over the world, as a backpacker, as a professional mariner or a simple tourist.
Time by time I learnt to know, respect and appreciate mankind and all the living things.
I really love music, any kind but quality is mandatory ;-)
Actually I'm back to redescover my Tuscan roots.
Stay tuned and enjoy!
