My fiance and I were extremely disappointed in our stay. While the location was good, the place itself left much to be desired. We were told we could drop our bags off upon arrival at 10:30AM, but there was no one there to let us in. We attempted to contact through phone, e-mail, and airbnb message- but we received no response. After going back and forth multiple times to try and get in, we were greeted at 2:30pm and told it would be ready at 3:00pm. Valentine apologized and said "you'll have a gift"... which never happened. The building smelled like stale cigarette smoke. The furniture and decor is not as pictured. The garbage was not emptied, the fridge had leftover food, the bed had hair in it, some of the towels were wet, the floors and tables were covered in dust, and the bathroom had black mold/mildew. It's a warm, dark spot near the train to lay your head at night- but we'd recommend spending a few extra dollars for cleanliness and comfort.
Electronic communication with the hosts was OK, though I never actually met either one of them (Valentine or Thomas). Leo, Valentine's friend and colleague, was friendly and welcoming. The flat itself was not as advertised; the furniture pictured was not present and there was little in the way of lighting. Having seen such a highly reviewed location, I was not expecting to to find a flat in such disrepair and so unclean (toilet was dirty, shower has not been thoroughly cleaned/had mildew removed in some time, everything caked with dust, sheets were covered in hair). There is a bit of water damage and mold, so if anyone has any allergy sensitivities, beware.
With a little more upkeep/repair, this would be an outstanding listing, as the location is absolutely fabulous (10 minute walk to the Louvre, major train/Metro station within 2 minute walk, several restaurants/cafes around).
Small, darkish studio apartment in a great location close to shops, restaurants and underground rail.
We had a wonderful stay in Paris! We loved the apartment, it was very clean and open. The location is amazing. Super close to everything. It's walking distance to the lourve and many other things to see in Paris. The metro is within walking distance as well. Everything you need is really close. The restaurant below, La Fresque, had really great food for a really reasonable price. We ate at La Fresque both nights we were in Paris. We would definitely recommend this apartment.
Valentine and her colleagues are nice and welcome.
I and my wife really appreciated that they helping us to move our heavy luggages into the house.
Valentine's restaurant, La Fresque, is great!. We would definitely recommend to have lunch or dinner here.
The location is perfect, close to the metro RER B and line 4, walking to Le Centre Pompidou, Louvre Museum, Notre Dame Cathedral within 15 mins only.
You can find out many cafes and restaurants there, and a shopping mall (under construction but still opening) in front of the house.
A fan and floor lamp are provided in the room so that the darkness and airless of the room have been solved.
I stayed here for 3 nights in May. The apartment is in a very good location, very close to the metro and just a short walk from the Louvre and Notre Dame. It is surrounded by many shops and restaurants. The apartment is small, dark and hot, but this isn't really a problem for me as i didn't spend much time in it except to sleep because I was too busy enjoying paris. Here are the negative things:- the apartment is dirty, there was a layer of dust and dirt covering every surface, the microwave was really disgusting, left over food residue all over. This place just needs a really good clean.
1. Host - best. Quick response and very friendly relations,
2. Placing - best.
3. Comfort - so-so.
4. Cleanliness - so-so.
The apartment is quirky but comfortable enough. No views. The biggest plus is its location in Paris. The heart of tourist land wonderfully located. Beside Chatelet-Les Halles station it is very easy to get to and from CDG airport without effort. We had a little mix-up and checked in 1 hour later than planned, which was an issue because we were very tired after a thirty hour flight, but this was made up to us later. Everyone was very friendly. Not perfect but OK!
The restaurant downstairs is a genuine French bistro with an almost exclusively Parisian clientele.
