  • Awesome stay! Rupert was super accommodating and friendly, and the space itself was amazing for the price. Our own little home in Portland, with everything we needed. Highly recommended! Thanks!

  • I have only been to Portland this one time and I absolutely loved it! This is the ONLY place I will stay! I recommended it a hundred times over. Rupert was so nice and his place is fantastic. From the moment he greeted us we knew we were in for a special treat. I went running that morning and fell in love with the neighborhood. You will never regret staying here! Thanks Rupert! I will be back with my family!

  • Staying here was our intro to Portland, and this rental made it all the better! All the amenities and the overall building are in outstanding shape, kept immaculately clean. As someone who is a bit of a Coach House enthusiast in Chicago, I found the decorative touches to be extremely smart. We started calling it 'home' in less than 2 hours upon arrival.

As soon as check in time came, Rupert met us right there and was polite, personable, and just plain wonderful to talk to. We stayed for much shorter than he had been used to - and had we not been bound for the Oregon Coast shortly thereafter we would have stayed here longer - my fiancee and I found the Kinley Manor Experience to be highly accommodating and hospitable. We definitely want to come back here!

In terms of where the rental is situated, it's right on what feels like the cusp of Lloyd Dist. and Irvington, and it feels like a far superior alternative to somewhere else just down the street more impersonal like the Doubletree or Red Lion Hotel if you are in on say, a convention or for business travel. It works for Business and Pleasure!

Bottom Line: While some places are just plain nice and don't necessarily warrant a revisit, this would be my first place to look upon coming back to PDX, No questions about it. A+ Rupert & Scott!!

The Rupe Group Enterprises
We, Rupert Kinnard and Scott Stapley, have been the proud owners of The Kinley Manor Coach House since it's construction and official opening in June of 2006. Scott has a background as a mental health therapist and I, Rupert, am a writer/illustrator/cartoonist/graphic designer. I am also a Motown fanatic. I grew up in Chicago, IL and Scott hails from Redding, CA. During our years as guesthouse owners, Scott and I have enjoyed welcoming people from as close as down the street to people from as far away as Saudi Arabia and Australia. When asked is our place is a Bed & Breakfast Inn, we are fond of responding, "We provide you a bed but if you would like to offer us breakfast, we would consider it." We are both avid film lovers, frequent live theater, truly enjoy living in Portland and are very active in our community. We absolutely honor all of our guests...especially all of our return visitors. If we had a motto I would say that it would be: "We don't look at life as having ups and downs. We see it as a series of adventures and challenges."
