A cozy one bedroom, one bath cottage with an open floor plan kitchen/dining/living room is your home base for exploring the Kalapana Coast on the Big Island. The manager and local artist, Heather Wilkinson, lives next door in a two-story house in Seaview Kalapana Estates with her wily cat Mr. Undertoes. Heather will be your source for how to get the most out of your stay on the Puna (east side) of the island.
Your unit accommodates up to two persons with a full size bed in the bedroom and a single size futon in the living room. The kitchen is equipped with dishware, pots and pans, etc. and has a microwave oven, coffee maker, gas stove and refrigerator. Parking is provided just outside your front door. Wireless internet is complimentary and coin operated washer and dryer are located outside your back door under a spacious covered patio common area. But you may prefer to dry your clothes on your breezy patio clothesline. The atmosphere here in Puna is totally laid back, friendly, and in tune with Nature.
A local Saturday market with the island's freshest produce is within walking distance. Wednesday evenings another local market in Kalapana welcomes the community with dinner sold by a couple dozen food vendors and live Hawaiian music. Kahena Black Sand Beach is only a three minute drive from the Ohana and many great attractions including flowing lava, warm ponds , snorkeling, surfing, and steam bathing are within easy driving distance down the Red Dirt Road, which is actually paved now. Heather and Mr. Undertoes invite you to experience a unique lifestyle in Seaview Kalapana Estates.

We really enjoyed our 2 weeks stay at the Ohana. The place is very nice and clean. The utilities were all present and fully functionnal. Heather (and her cats) are great host,
They were a lot of great attractions around the Ohana : lava pools, black sand beach, good restaurants, etc.
We recommand this place and we would like to stay there forever! :-)

We enjoyed our stay in Heathers condo. Very quiet and safe area, very nice and clean condo with everything we needed. We would definitely come back again. Thank you Heather!
Heather's Ohana (email hidden) to base my explorations of Hilo and Volcano from. The cabin was spotless and well equipped. A little further out than I had realized, but I loved the scenic drives to and from Heather's place. Recommended.
Great little place, super serene and peaceful. The ohana has everything you need!
The ocean, old lava flows, greenery made this a wonderfully scenic and serene location to base our stay on the Big Island. Heather's Ohana is well appointed and met our needs perfectly. Heather (email hidden). We look forward to travelling to the Big Island and staying in the coastal Puna area again.
Best value in seaview by far! Thanks Heather for another great stay!
We enjoyed our (website hidden) was spotless and had a comfortable homey feel to it. Loved listening to the coqui frogs and the rain at night through all the open windows. Didn't miss air condition one bit.
This is just the sweetest space! Very spacious, clean and comfortable. Very well equipped kitchen. Nicely decorated, you can just feel the Aloha. Washer and dryer were just out the back door as was a clothesline. So handy for an extended trip. I recommend totally!
I lived in Heather's Ohana for an extended stay not too long ago. The space is large, well equipped and sits at what i feel is the best site to call home as you explore the sights and community. The host Heather will take care of you well and offers two rental units that are top notch.
