The space

Due to demand, we only respond to FULLY VERIFIED guests who provide a clear profile photo, full name, age, name of current employer and/or school, and descriptive purpose of visit. Thank you for your understanding.

Live in in the heart of Little Tokyo and the Arts District with other international travelers and visitors! Clean, convenient, and inexpensive. You won't find a better deal in LA.

Furnished dorm room available for minimum four days, long term stays encouraged. Rooms come with closet, sink, bed, desk, chair. Unfurnished rooms are also available, please see our other listings.

LENGTH OF STAY - We generally accept reservations of 30 days maximum length. If you wish to reserve for a longer period you may discuss that with the apartment manager after you check in for your initial stay.

ROOM DESCRIPTION: Private rooms are for one individual, have locks on doors, and come with a sink. Kitchen, toilet, shower rooms are shared, and professionally cleaned each day. This is a dorm-style atmosphere with great long-term tenants, international travelers, and a friendly on-site manager. Please bring your own towel. This room is similar to the others I have listed, that's why I am just using the same photo. For views of the premises look at the other properties. Thank you for not requesting additional photos of the rooms.

PARKING: Free street parking is available nearby (but it goes quickly), otherwise it is $4.00/day at the meters. Metered spots are enforced from 6 am - 4 pm and they cost $4.00 per day.

GETTING THERE: From LAX take the FlyAway bus ($7.00 one way) to Union Station, then take the Gold Line to the Little Tokyo stop. The building is two short blocks away.

WEEKEND ARRIVAL: Please keep in mind that if you are arriving on a Saturday or Sunday the manager may not be there in person to let you in, but there is a lockbox from which you retrieve your keys.

CHECKING IN: Check-in is at 3 pm, Check-out is at 12 noon. Once your reservation is accepted you will receive a phone number for the on-site manager, Alex (different from the one currently listed). Please contact him immediately to discuss check-in details. Please do not wait until the last minute to call. Thank you!

SECURITY DEPOSIT: Because most of our tenants are long-term guests, our security deposit is the equivalent of one month's rent. The deposit is held by Airbnb through your credit card and they will return it to you after your stay. We have had a couple hundred individual reservations with our building and have only had to make deductions for damages a couple of times. If you are a responsible guest, you should have no worries.

ADDITIONAL GUESTS: Additional guests are not allowed without prior notification and prior permission given by the host. Unless agreed to otherwise, any additional guests who stay past 10 pm will be charged an additional $10 per night. If an additional guest is brought without prior permission and paid for in advance, you may lose your security deposit or have your reservation cancelled. Thank you in advance for not bringing overnight guests without prior permission.

Guest access

Shared bathrooms are cleaned daily, as is the shared kitchen. Laundry facilities are on site. We have a communal, international atmosphere.

Definitely I will come back soon! Great place to stay for a short or long time. Safe area, quiet and the Metro is very close. Jefferson and Alex are available for any question you have.

I love staying at this place. It is very minimal but has everything one needs for a stay in LA. It is conveniently located between Little Tokyo and the Art District. Very close to the metrolink . I've stayed there several time when I have come to LA and will stay there again in the future.

This was an old lodging house serving male Chinese workers during the era of the Exclusion Acts. Its located on the edge of Little Tokyo in an area being rapidly gentrified. If you're interested in historic places, this gives you a sense of typical SRO housing of a not so distant past. Long hall ways w/lots of rooms running off it punctuated with rooms for showers and rooms for toilets. Great location for connecting to a disappearing part of old downtown, Boyle Heights -- the remnants of the Lower East Side of LA. I loved the experience!

Good location and good price are the plus points. Place itself is clean enough albeit pretty run down. If your room is facing the street the metro is pretty loud nearby and will take a few nights to get used to.

I love staying here. It is very minimal with a feeling of old downtown LA. Not fancy but it is clean and quiet with an international feel. Great location in Little Tokyo and the art district. Very close to MetroLink and buses. I wouldn't stay anywhere else when I go to LA. Great rate but the cleaning fee adds a bit to that.
