Our apartment is located in a “hutong”, a traditional Beijing alley where you can experience the colorful, bustling yet laid-back life of China’s capital city, while still being close to its modern centers, whether you feel like strolling through the ancient allies, or being overwhelmed by the flashy modern architecture of the entertainment and shopping center in the “sanlitun”-area.
The apartment is located within 5-10 walking minutes from two subway stations (Line 5 and 2) and 3 minutes from Beijing’s famous restaurant street “guijie”, where you can taste specialties from all over China after a long day spent sightseeing.
Our apartment is a warm, newly furnished studio with a kitchen-area, living room and queen-size bedroom on the upper loft. Gas cooking or microwave are both at your disposal, should you feel like experimenting with the great range of exotic ingredients you can find in Beijing’s many supermarkets, one of which is just 1 minute away. A washing machine is of course included as well.
If you just feel like relaxing at home after a long day, feel free to turn on our TV and check out a movie from our growing DVD-collection at your disposal. Also, there is no need to invest into overpriced drinks at mediocre coffee-shops just to have a chat with friends or family on their wireless accesses, as our apartment comes with a free Wi-Fi broadband connection.
Bread, eggs, jam, coffee and tea are waiting for you in the morning (or any time of the day, should you be up for a snack) and Miyo and Maria are happy to recommend spots for a traditional Beijing-breakfast to you.
Towels, sheets, plates, cups/glasses and cutlery are already there, as well as cleaning products like laundry detergent.

We had a great time staying at Miyo's place in Beijing! Miyo was quick to respond to our emails and was very accommodating in arranging our check-in and check-out. The hu-tong apartment is exactly like the pictures, clean and comfy for two people. The location was great for us because we could walk easily to two different subway lines. Overall, a fantastic stay!
Apartment located in a very typical and charming area, nice mezzanine, but the bathroom is a little bit narrow and the bed a little bit hard.
Miyo's apartment was very cute and clean. It was perfect for a couple. The Hutong neighborhood was very cute as well and the people were friendly. It was kind of hard to find the place but I think the taxi dropped us off at the wrong street entrance. The apartment was pretty close to 2 subway stops including the airport express, which was nice and there was a main street with many restaurants to choose from.
Miyo's apartment is in a terrific spot if you want to get a taste of life in Beijing's hutongs. It's also close to one of the main long-distance bus stations and to subway stations, and only a few stops from most of the main city attractions. The apartment itself is small but adequate for a couple of people. It has all the usual equipment, including a washing machine (which wasn't working while I was there, though Miyo kindly did a load of washing for me). Two things to bear in mind are that the stairs leading up to the bedroom are very steep, and that the bedroom roof is steeply sloped - I bumped my head several times before I learned to duck when I got out of bed. There's an air-conditioner - though I couldn't get it to throw out much heat on chilly nights, even when I turned it ridiculously high. There are also wall heaters downstairs, though I couldn't get them to work - if I'd phoned Miyo, I'm sure she would have enlightened me. All in all, I found it an excellent base for my ten days in Beijing, particularly because it put me in the middle of daily hutong life, with all its bustle, clatter and fascinating daily routines. That may be a negative for anyone wanting lots of peace and quiet, but I'm sure most Airbnb travellers would appreciate it.
Miyo was a fabulous host - very helpful and flexible with check-in / check-out times even when we had flight delays. Her place was clean and warm and in an authentic part of the city which was busy and exciting. Initially the flat was hard to find - even though we were given good directions (even prepared for us in Chinese) the flats (of which there are many in the same area) are not numbered and so had to rely on help from friendly neighbours. The flat had everything we needed - it was great to be able to get our washing done and the loft bedroom was cool even if the bed was a little hard. For the price and all the other perks we thought the flat was perfect for our stay in Beijing! Thanks Miyo!
The reservation was canceled 25 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Miyo worked with us to meet us late at the location, even though it was around 1 AM because of long taxi lines at the Beijing Airport. We were happy to find her place warm and cozy and really enjoyed our stay! We used the washer and the beds were just fine too. Great host, we were happy to stay there and would do it again!
