Newer cottage with timeless feel. Crisp and airy. Everything you could possibly need. Walk to the ocean and enjoy coffee along the shore in Acadia National Park. At night, marvel at the stars you feel like you could reach out and touch.

The space
Two bedroom cottage with a Queen bed in one room and a single in the second bedroom. Comfortable furniture, nice but not precious. Sit on the deck and enjoy ocean views and breezes with your morning coffee. Television with cable and DVDs if you want to put your feet up at night after a busy day sightseeing. Where you’ll be

Winter Harbor, Maine, United States

The cottage is located in Wonsqueak Harbor, which is one of several villages in the town of Gouldsboro. The house is literally a few hundred feet from Acadia National Park on the Schoodic Peninsula with a network of new bicycle and hiking trails. For those who want a more sedentary stay, just stroll over to the park with a cup of coffee and find a rock to sit on with the ocean gently rising and falling right in front of you.

I am a longtime journalist who moved to the area permanently in 2008, although I have visited here for more than 30 years. The Schoodic Peninsula attracted me because of the beautiful part of Acadia National Park that is located here, actually, just steps from the cottage. The Peninsula is one stunning vista after another. The lifestyle is laid back. I enjoy directing people to the best the area has to offer in terms of hikes, drives, galleries, concerts and the tastiest burger.
