This Charming Boerum Hill Jr. 1 bedroom is located in a beautiful greystone on Bergen Street between Bond and Nevins.

Enter the ground floor unit through your private entrance and enjoy a cozy short term stay in this art filled and fully furnished unit. Original details and woodfloors provide a classic brownstone feel and modern amenities are provided with plasma TV with cable, and internet. The apartment is on the first floor and has a garden in the back for you to enjoy your morning coffee or tea outside. The unit has a new, high quality queen bed, stocked kitchen with refrigerator, toaster oven, range and stove, microwave and coffee maker. The bedroom/living room has a desk area, 2 comfortable chairs and there is a bathtub with shower in the bathroom.

The owners live upstairs and are wonderful hosts. Please note they have a cat in the building on the second floor above. The cat isn't allowed inside the guests space but you may see him in the garden or common hallway. This would be notice to someone with very severe allergies.

Two blocks to the Bergen Street F train, 4 blocks to the A/C at Hoyt Schermerhorn and 4 blocks to the Atlantic Pacific Station where you can catch nearly every train into the city. Steps from Smith Street or Restaurant Row as well as Atlantic Avenue shopping and restaurants. A wonderful location...

  • The apartment is perfect for a couple with a small bathroom, a nice kitchen and a generous bedroom/bed. Such a nice garden to have your morning coffee in! We spent many hours there reading, having coffee and socializing with the cat. :)
We visited in April/May when the whole neighborhood was blossoming and we really appreciated the well kept, tidy apartment. Denise, who met up with us to give us the keys, was really helpful. Wifi and linens/towels included and plenty of closet space.

A few notes: There are plenty of subways nearby, the closest ones being Hoyt/Schermerhorn (A,C,E) and Bergen st. (F,G) but you still have to do some walking (7-10 mins) to get home.
As our hosts were home during most of our stay we could hear them quite a lot through the ceiling (they live upstairs but you have a separate entrance). It is no wonder since this an old brownstone house (and it was nothing that disturbed us) but worth mentioning.
It also gets rather cold when it's damp outside (there are extra covers if you need them).

    Don't miss out on:
Paisanos Deli on Smith street (sandwiches to go and all sorts of Italian food you can imagine)
Rucola, Italian restaurant just around the corner on Bond street

Both Smith street and 5th avenue are nice for having coffee or dinner or going shopping. The park and the weekend Brooklyn Flea market in Fort Greene are walking distance.

  • it was very professional and easy to deal with the owners and the rental agency.
the apartment was clean and great for my parents.
the heating was a bit tough to regulate, but except from that, no complaints. Would strongly recommend!

  • A great space in a great spot, John was a good host and sorted us out with an air bed too. The shower is really nice. The garden was a bit over grown but we didn't feel the need to use it anyway as we were quite busy. There's a subway station close by, the G line can take you to Williamsburg and the F line right into Manhattan which is pretty handy.

  • Our Bergen Street stay was very enjoyable - a little home away from home in wonderful Brooklyn. The full size kitchen and lovely back garden were highlights for us. We were a little surprised that Jennifer was not actually our host but Eva and John were quite approachable and full of helpful local advice.
The self contained apartment is on the lower ground level and offers complete privacy.

  • The luxurious dogwood tree in the garden was in full bloom and the space was clean, light and airy. Everything I might need was supplied and easy to find. One has complete privacy yet the genial hosts are available. Thoughtful touches like a bag of fresh coffee and NYC/Brooklyn guide books made me feel welcome. I was definitely made to feel comfortable and at home in Brooklyn!

  • We stayed in this wonderfully decorated apartment, hosted by John and Eva, for the first part of our trip to NYC. The apartment was clean, warm and welcoming, with everything we could possibly have needed. The bed was comfortable, the apartment relatively quiet at night, and the location was perfect with handy access to the subway just a short walk away. Unfortunately, as we visited in early Autumn the garden wasn't at its best but it was great to have that extra space if needed. Plenty of storage too, which is handy if you are travelling for a while and need somewhere to unpack your stuff.

  • Great flat. Super warm (almost too warm!) and lovely owners.

  • We stayed here for a week after hurricane sandy forced us out of our apt. It was a lovely neighborhood (very convenient for commuting to the financial district), and a warm and cozy apartment. Would stay here again, but hoping we won't need to now that our power is back!
