A Perfect getaway for families or friends traveling together. Enjoy the beauty of Rome and come home to an oasis of silence and nature with your own pool, garden and gorgeous view!
This gorgeous summer house has been completely renovated in the spring of 2014 (now!). Situated only about 35 km north of Rome, located in the beautiful medieval (and somewhat famous) town of Bracciano. Ideal for a family with kids (big or small!), a group of friends, or people looking for a quiet spot... with a beautiful view of the lake, private pool (5x12 meters) and big garden!
The villa is situated only 15 minutes by foot from the center of town (= train station with hourly trains to Rome) and less than 10 minutes from the lake. (by foot!). So you can leave your car in the enclosed garden. (private parking)
The lake has exceptional clean water (drinking quality provision intended for Rome!)
No motor boats have been allowed on the lake for decades. It's a volcanic lake with two othercharming medieval towns on the shore, lots of restaurants offering regional specialties, etc.
The home consists of 2 bedrooms (one rather small but with one or two beds, can be made up as one double bed), two bathrooms (the bigger one with tub, the smaller one with shower stall), a large living room (48 square meters with open fireplace), a small but fully furnished kitchen, an inner courtyard/patio (16 square meters - you can even sleep there on hot summer nights! and accessible from all rooms of the house) It sleeps up to 6 adults (2 in the living room on two seperate sofa beds). The flooring has just had a makeover and has now got a wooden floor in the living room and bedrooms.
We have a 4 year old daughter and a baby boy so it's child-friendly and books and toys are available (as well as garden furniture, swing and hammock).
The layout of the house is that of a Classical Roman villa, very convenient for couples traveling together as both bedrooms grant privacy. We have return guests (one couple in their 70s) who have been coming for over 20 years!
We live simply but beautifully!
The town of Bracciano has got an important medieval castle and a gorgeous old city center with magnificent views towards the lake. Trains to Rome run every 30-60 minutes and the price both ways including public transportation inside Rome (very convenient!!) is 6 E only. It takes about 1 hour to get to the city center of Rome.
Enjoy the beauty of Rome and come home to an oasis of silence and nature with your own private pool, garden and gorgeous view!
The Area and Surroundings
We are situated right below the Castle and the Lake of Bracciano. (do a web search for "castello di Bracciano" - it's really impressive!) The town (ca. 12.000 inhabitants) has all you might need-- shops, restaurants and in the summer month some happenings like nice (free) concerts, open air cinema, theater etc.
The train ride to Rome takes about one hour and the ticket is 2,30 Euro one way. Trains run hourly, sometimes twice an hour, so you don't need to take your car to Rome, which is very convenient! The world famous Etruscan excavations of Cerveteri are within an hour's drive, as well as the enchanting towns of Nepi, Viterbo, Sutri and many others who have not yet been discovered by mass tourism. Tarquinia and others Etruscan towns are also within relatively easy reach. You can equally drive to the resorts on the Mediterrean beach in less than an hour, if you want a change from swimming in the lake.
If you arrive by plane, you can rent a car either at Fiumicino Airport or in our area.
There are lots of other things in the area to discover-- a vast forest (with 'adventure playground' for older children), horseback riding, even rock climbing, you won't get tired of it!
The whole house, with private garden and private pool. All yours ;)
I'm there if guests need me, living only a few miles away.

Laura & her family welcomed us from arrival and were helpful right through to the end of our stay. She showed us local shops, including driving to buy some shopping as we were staying for a while. The house itself is spacious especially the living room. The kitchen has all utensils you need to cook & bake. The house was a home way from home, and has been improved from the pictures on line. The garden provided enough running space and bug hunting environment for our 2 elder boys. The pool is refreshing after hot summer days. Bracciano itself is a great base to see the region, including Rome. The house is conveniently based halfway between the lake and the town. From the lake you can take the boat to see Anguillara Sabazia & Trevignano Romano. The train to Rome is just over an hour. With a car we were able to go to Terme di Stigliano, Ceri, Cerveteri, beaches (Santa Severa & Ladispoli), and lakes including Lago di Martignano & Lago di Vico. We were limited due to having a young baby, and I'm sure more regions are accessible through longer journeys. The only downside were the Mosquitos but these are to be expected in Italy and in the Mediterranean... Come prepared.
Laura's house was simply perfect! She was an amazing host, helped us to plan our trip and made everything so simple! We felt just like home. The house is spacious, so is the garden. The view of the lake is very nice. The location is practical: we walked to visit the city of Bracciano, drove a few minutes to nice villages by the lake, we went to the beach which was sandy and vast. It was perfect for our family, we had an amazing time. Hope we could come back some day!
We had a very nice holliday in Lauras house, nice pool and clean was it too. We loved the wiew over the lake, and the shout cut to the town was qvickly, and the best pizza at the pizzaria to. Laura was VERY helpfull, and was ready on mail all day for good advices.
Laura was a lovely host, she met us at the train station, took us for a walk through town and pointed out places of interest on the way to her home. We loved her backyard and the pool was fantastic on the hot days. She accommodated my coeliac disease well and even bought me gluten free pasta to take to her chef friends restaurant. If you visit make sure you bring a flashlight as the walk down the hill at night back to Laura's house is exceptionally dark.
Grazie tanto Laura!!
Laura's Place is great! They have a wonderful lake view, and the villa is perfectly located just halfway between the lake and the picturesque town-- both are less than 15 minutes by foot. Trains to Rome are frequent and convenient. The room is rather small but quite comfortable, and the bathroom was large and clean. Although Laura and her family liven the place, we had lots of privacy. Recommend!
Lovely house with a stunning view of the lake, 15 min. walk from the train station. Laura was great at organising our stay and anticipating requests. Recommended!
Our stay in Bracciano at Laura's house was great! She has a really cool house with an amazing view, and we enjoyed spending the day just relaxing by the lake and pool. The room and bathroom were clean and comfortable. Laura, her partner Roberto, and their daughter were all amazing! We wish we could have stayed there longer.
