We are a couple living in a 2 bedroom apartment overlooking Spadina Road with a bright, spacious living area, a cozy kitchen, and a large master bedroom (your room!) with its own door to the balcony. Our building is from the 50s and isn't that stylish (baby blue and pink were apparently in vogue when they tiled the bathroom), but we keep it quite clean and tidy, and it has a nice energy. Here are the details:
*NEW*: For groups of 3-4, we can remove the desk and chair from the room and set up an extra queen bed to accommodate you!

- Located in the beautiful Annex, one of Toronto's most friendly, vibrant neighbourhoods

LIVING ARRANGEMENTS / ABOUT US:
We own a dance studio down the street (10 minutes away), so we're rarely very far from home. We live a pretty simple lifestyle, and our apartment is modestly furnished, with big windows, full-length mirrors and lots of floor space in the living room (= space to dance!). We don't have internet at home, but there is free wi-fi at the library across the street and at many coffee shops in the area.
Our schedule is a bit erratic because of our classes and events; we're usually home during the day and at the studio from mid-afternoon until late evening, sometimes past midnight. We often sleep pretty late into the morning, so you'll generally have to find your own breakfast, but please make yourself at home! You're more than welcome to use our kitchen to cook and store any groceries you buy, though we are vegetarian and for simplicity we prefer not to have meat or eggs prepared in our kitchen. We usually drink almond milk, but feel free to keep regular milk in our fridge if that's your preference. If you'll be buying prepared foods or take-out, don't worry about eating anything you like at our place (we don't mind, promise!).
Mid-afternoon is generally the best time for check-in, but if you need to check in while we're working, you can meet us at our studio (it's at Bathurst Subway Station, a 10-minute walk from our home) to grab the keys. Your room will have fresh sheets and towels when you arrive; please hold on to your towels for re-use throughout your stay.
No smokers please (sorry!). Danielle is allergic to cigarette smoke, and even smoking outside and then coming in a while later affects her breathing pretty badly for hours. :(
Please remove your shoes at the door whenever you arrive home. This helps us keep our home nice and tidy.
No cooking of meat or eggs in our kitchen (but feel free to buy prepared foods / take-out and eat it at our place).
Keeping noise levels low in the morning and late at night is appreciated (quiet talking is totally fine), and we'll try to do the same if we come home late.
No guests are permitted, but there are plenty of cafes and restaurants less than 5 minutes away if you'd like to spend time with locals in the area. :)
Very comfortable room. Location is great, 2 mins to Spadina station! Clean and tidy as well. Positive experience throughout.
As a first time Airbnb user, we weren't sure what to expect but we had nothing to worry about as we had a great stay. Everything was exactly like the listing had described so we didn't run into any surprises. We didn't get a chance to meet Danielle but Junyan was very nice and helpful. Would stay there again. Thanks for letting us stay there!
Great location! Very close to the subway and university. The room was nicely decorated, big and sunny, and clean. Hosts were quiet and our paths didn't cross too often during my stay - but friendly and approachable. Very helpful in answering my questions.
Junyan and Danielle were away during our visit but left very clear directions and we had no trouble finding their apartment. They contacted us to make sure everything was OK and were very solicitous. Our foremost requirements were proximity to the New College residences at the University of Toronto and parking. As we were a 10 minute walk from the university and guest parking was available, both of these requirements were well met. Having four people in the bedroom is a little cozy but it does work and with our hosts away we did not feel crowded. Some of us found it a little warm without air conditioning but we are spoiled coming from Florida and this may not be an issue for most visitors. If we return to Toronto we would definitely stay here again.
It's a nice apartment with a relatively small rooms but big living room. Junyan and Danielle were nice and quiet people. Even though we shared an apartment, we barely noticed them. First it was unexpected from an Airbnb host, but when I think about it, it was more of a private apartment feeling :) Very good value, would definitely book again.
This was a lovely large room in a very nice apartment, a short walk away from public transport. Everything was neat and clean. Junyan and Danielle are very generous with sharing their tea supplies and making their kitchen available for use.
We're a couple living together. We are vegetarian and love nature & animals.
During the week we teach salsa, tango and Brazilian zouk at our dance school, Dance Annex, located just down the street at Bloor and Bathurst.
Our motto is: love life.
