Suitable for anyone seeking to explore the area without having to drive many miles back to the city every day this private studio with separate entrance is bright and airy. Spend the day at the beach, visit a farm, winery or the new Graton Casino. There is much to do and we would be happy to send you a list of our favorite places. We are located in a beautiful grassy valley that ends at the sea. The weather can be windy or foggy or absolutely gorgeous. You just never know!
While staying with us you might get your picture taken while hand feeding a large Longhorn steer!
Amenities The Guest House Studio has a Queen sized Tempurpedic bed and a couch. It sleeps 2 adults comfortably and a child or two, depending upon their ages. The bathroom has a shower and tub. The kitchen area contains a microwave, a refrigerator, a sink, an electric hot water kettle and a Kuerig coffee maker. There is a television and High Speed Internet access. There is no telephone in the Guest House but Verizon has good service here and ATT works. We provide coffee and tea. The Studio is heated with a radiant floor heat system that uses solar panels to heat the water. Very comfy. Parking is outside the unit.
Location - We are located on Valley Ford Road just 15 minutes from the Pacific ocean, Bodega Bay and Sebastopol. We are just 20 minutes northwest of Petaluma and 45 minutes from Pt. Reyes. We are just 12 - 15 minutes from the Graton Casino! The town of Tomales and Dillon Beach are just over the hill and the drive is barely 10 minutes. Its just under an hour to drive to the town of Sonoma and about the same to Napa. San Francisco is about 1hr and 10 minutes. A little more if you are coming from the airport or if it is commute time. Valley Ford Road is a main artery to the Sonoma Coast beaches and is an easy, non-windy drive. Just follow the campers and boats!
Equine We are equine friendly! In addition to our studio guests we can accommodate a few horses and a trailer. We have a small pasture with apple trees and grass that is large enough for the horses to run around in but still small enough that catching them is not a problem. In the dry months we have a small arena that you may use to exercise your horse or get them ready for a show.
Trailer parking We have parking for your trailer, boat or RV. No matter what you are towing or driving, we can probably accommodate you!
Things to do in the area We have a pinterest board started to capture area attractions. Keep checking back to see it grow. pinterest kristinembeck west-sonoma-county
Prices listed include a 9% 'Transient Occupancy Tax' that we must collect for the County of Sonoma
We are sorry but we aren't accepting pets at this time :-(
Guests are welcome to walk around the ranch and pet the horses. We do ask that guests not enter the barn or the pastures without a host. We also have a large deck that is available for watching the sunset or sipping your morning coffee.
I aways have at least a brief conversation via airbnb with my guests before arriving and try to be present to greet them when they arrive. After that I give them privacy but am on the property to answer questions, make dinner recommendations etc. We may also (time and animals cooperating) introduce our guests to our horses and longhorn cattle.
Its so close to the beach! Oh and the redwood forest..and the wineries..and I love that we are on the Cheese Trail. There are many great places to eat and farm fresh food prevails. There are so many different activities to partake of! The people in West County are friendly and fun.
A car is necessary in this rather rural area. A winery tour can be arranged but for most other things you will need to drive. There is no public transportation from the Ranch
We are sorry but we aren't accepting pets at this time :-(
Our studio is not wheelchair accessible and there are stairs to the unit.
My husband and I were surveying the region to help make a decision whether or not to move to the area, and our stay on Twisted Horn Ranch sure helped tip the scales! An amazing home away from home, and such hospitable hosts.
My girlfriend and I both work in theatre with very hectic, late and early schedules. We both found a day off and decided to spend it at Kristine's ranch studio. It was excellent! Kristine is a wonderful host with a beautiful home set in the ever relaxing, quiet and gorgeous Sonoma County landscape. We're considering taking another trip as soon as we can. Definitely a must stay.
My stay here at the ranch was perfect - quiet, serene, beautiful and such friendly hosts! (both humans AND animals). The room was so comfortable and upscale, and being a 10 minute drive to Bodega Bay was incredible. I can't wait to come back again!
This was our first Airbnb experience and it was wonderful! The accommodation was beautiful and so clean. I get tired going to hotels and seeing fingerprints on doors, handles and cupboards but here there was not one to be found! It rained for most of our stay so the playing cards and dominoes came in really handy.
We just spent one night at the ranch, what a pleasure! The suite was stunning and had everything we needed for our short stay. And the bed was so comfortable it was hard to get up in the morning! Beyond the suite, the ranch was pretty and it was a great joy to be around the animals. And to top it all off, we were given some tasty scones for breakfast by our friendly hosts. What a great place to stay!
You can see that there's a certain pattern to these reviews of the ranch suite. Everyone touts the very nice accommodations and gracious and generous hosts.
That's because that is indeed what you get!
Everything about it feels clean and fresh and Kristine goes well beyond the basics, stocking the refrigerator, providing nice bathroom amenities etc.
This was such a great airbnb experience. The ranch is just wonderful - animals, fresh air, great views. Kristine and her husband were such lovely hosts. Very thoughtful and kind. The apartment itself was really nice. Comfy bed, super clean, great bathroom and a very helpful local guide to the area. Can't recommend this place enough!
In amazing surprise. A very large, comfortable, clean, quiet room. An actual long horn steer ranch with a friendly, welcoming dog, and real steers to befriend. A wonderful place to get away to, even if it is only 20 minutes from Petaluma. My wife fell in love with "Rocky" the ranch's pet long horn. The kitchen was well stocked for our morning coffee and tea, and Kristine provided us with delicious home made scones each morning. We plan to go back when we have more time to unwind and enjoy the environment.
Twisted Horn ranch studio is a five star accommodation in wine country (and near Bodega Bay) with excellent road biking right out your door. The studio is expansive (600 sq ft & vaulted ceilings), well appointed (granite countertops & cozy in floor heat), newer construction, filled with sunlight and extremely clean. Kristine is the perfect host and the room came with some delicious surprises including home made scones, local cheese, organic half and half, premium coffee and orange juice.
The road biking is extraordinary! Quiet country or wide shoulder roads took us up and over to the coast on Coleman Valley Road one day, another day we biked to Petaluma for a more relaxing ride through the country and for a longer ride, we biked into Sebastopol and up Westside Road to Healdsburg and Cloverdale.
After our bike rides we enjoyed the numerous vineyards or grabbed a meal at Bodega Bay or Sebastopol.
We look forward to returning very soon. Thank you Kristine!
We had such a great stay! It is a beautiful private guesthouse in a wonderful setting. The studio was large, clean, quiet and comfortable! Kristine was very pleasant and accommodating.
My only regret is that we arrived when it was too dark to see Rocky the Bull! Hopefully we'll get to see him on our next trip! I would not hesitate to stay here again. Thanks for a great stay, Kristine!
