Manfred is a really cool and nice host. He has some great tips for your stay in dublin... and he knows all the good bars and clubs ;-) i'll come back soon
Manfred was traveling so I only met Tom and he showed me around the place. There is a nice café downstairs on the corner and I grabbed a latte and a bite to eat there each day before heading toward city centre. It was a bit of a walk to get to city centre, so I walked to the Mayor Square LUAS stop (about a km) to get to the area I wanted to go each day rather than wait on buses or pay for a taxi, but I also walked to/from the apartment and city centre a few times with no issues. I kept having trouble with the door lock though, and that is likely due to user error! I finally found that if I leaned on the door I could feel the bottom lock unlock and then the top lock would open the door, so I figure I should share that knowledge with future travelers. :)
I am very grateful to Manfred and Tom these days . Manfred is an excellent host and very nice person.
The apartment is very well situated , about a 15 minute walk to the center , and is very welcoming , I recommend to anyone who wanted to spend the fantastic experience that I went through.
Tanks for everything.
We spent a nice long weekend at Manfred's. Although we didn't meet Manfred himself, his roommate Tom took good care of us. The room was exactly as described and the kitchen as well which was spacious and well equipped. Note that if you have a bad back, the bed might be too soft. Big thanks to Tom and Manfred!
Manfred is really a great host, open minded and friendly ! His apartment is in one of the nicest and most recent parts of the city, and only 15/20 mins walk to city centre and all the pubs of Temple Bar.
The apartment itself has a lot of space, bed & bathroom are nice; and both him and his flatmate do everything so you can feel like home.
Will definitely recommend his place to anyone interested in staying in a quiet place but at walking distance of city center !
Manfred's apartment was a very nice place to stay at in Dublin. The room was a 15 min walk to Trinity College/Temple Bar district and though not centrally located, we enjoyed that it was a quiet apartment building and neighborhood. We loved the cafe downstairs, Il Valentino. We did not get to meet Manfred, who is the host, but his flatmate, Peter was accommodating. The bedroom was a good size for two people who spent most of their time out & about. The bathroom was huge and those facilities worked great.
Manfred made me really feel at home: he is a comforting person. He also knows Dublin very well as he has been around for quite a while. I will certainly recommend his place for friends to stay while in Dublin.
