LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION
The balcony has a great view - the Sydney Harbour Bridge is a treat to wake up to every morning!
In the perfect Sydney location, the apartment is just minutes for Rushcutter's Bay and it's beautiful view of the harbour. Darling Point has the most gorgeously elegant Eastern Suburbs feel like a calm resort at the heart of one of the world's busiest cities. You're minutes away from both the city centre and the beach.
AT HOME IN THE APARTMENT
It's hard to believe that you are so close to some of the busiest parts of the city. Your bedroom is large and bright, with lovely sunlight gently streaming through the lush surrounding foliage. There is a very comfy double bed. Bed linen, pillows and towels are of course provided and you will find your room freshly made up and ready when you arrive. There is a built in wardrobe in your room.
You will also have shared use of the bathroom, kitchen, laundry and living area. The bathroom has both a shower unit and a large separate bath where you can relax and ease muscles tired from sightseeing! The kitchen is equipped with an electric hob, oven, microwave and a fridge freezer. You are welcome to use the pots and pans and kitchenware if you would like to cook.
The living area is large and bright and furnished with two sofas and a desk where I write when I am working from home. There is Telstra wifi so we have an excellent signal and you are welcome to use the internet. There is also plenty of parking around the apartment.
There is a pool in the apartment complex which you are welcome to use.
THE EASTERN SUBURBS, DARLING POINT, DOUBLE BAY, PADDINGTON
Darling Point is one of the most delightful areas in all of Sydney. Waterfront mansions and millionaires are our neighbours. When Tom Cruise and Nicole were married they lived in a house 200 meters from the apartment! We have a convenience store located in the mews garage of the original building that the apartment replaced. Staffed by incredibly nice and friendly locals the store sells all your basic needs as well as having a fresh food counter with tasty treats and really great coffee.
We are minutes from the waterfront and Rushcutters Bay park, one of the most gorgeous waterfront city escapes in the world. Run the track or take a blanket and lay in the sun under one of the many spreading trees as you watch the yachts bobbing in the marina.
Across the park you'll find Elizabeth Bay and Potts Point with all the dining and drinking options the city is famous for. Kings Cross and it's crazy nightlife is the next suburb - take a photo of the famous Coca Cola sign.
Double Bay is a quick walk down the hill to the east with all it's luxurious charm and old world glamour. The glitterati sip lattes by day and good wines by night.
Inland, you'll find Paddington has a host of great pubs, winebars and restaurants as well as the best boutique shopping in the city. Leafy streets and elegant old terraces with ornate latticework balconies give the area a unique look.
From the airport:
Train - Take the Airport Express right from the terminal and you'll be at Edgecliff Station in 29 minutes, tickets are $16.20 for an adult single.
Taxi - From the domestic terminal taxis take 20-30 minutes and cost around $35, from the international terminal it takes 30-40 minutes and cost around $45.
Train - The apartment is a brisk 10 minute walk or a lazy 15 minute stroll to Edgecliff Station. The train takes 8 minutes to city or 3 mins to Bondi Junction.
Bus - There is a bus stop 20 meters from the entrance to the block with buses that run into the city and out through Double Bay to Bondi Junction
Ferry - The most adorable way to travel around city is on the water. Take the ferry out to the heads at Watson Bay where you can see both the ocean and the harbour or ride the ferry into the city centre.
Train tickets offer best value if you purchase a weekly ticket but this may not work if you are visiting for a short time. A weekly ticket that will take you anywhere from Bondi Junction to the north shore of Sydney costs $27, a daily return is $4.60 to the city. Be aware that most Sydney buses now only accept prepaid tickets. These are easily available from newsagents everywhere. Single tickets are $2.10, tickets for 10 journeys are $16.80.
Planning your travel routes:
(website hidden) is a fantastic interactive website which allows you to plan your route using buses, trains and ferries. As well as a route calculator there is detailed information about all the tickets available so that you can get the best deal. With this as a resource it's really easy to explore Sydney!
Rosemarys Place has a gorgeous view to the harbour bridge. Our bedroom was tidy and we had everything we needed.
This place is close to some really good restaurants and shops (knoxstreet eg) and also edgliffe station is just only 10 min walk away. And if you fancy a quick coffee or snack - there is a cute cafe just next to the house.
We just met rosemary only a few times because she is a busy working lady :-)
Rosemary's place was great. Ideally located for my work as well as handy to the city. She is a great host and is happy to chat or give you space. The room was spot on and the view of the harbour was a nice bonus. Will look to stay again when I'm back in town. Thanks Rosemary.
Tolle Gastgeberin - tolle Aussicht - tolle Verkehrsanbindung !
Sehr zu empfehlen!
Rosemary was a charming host! Friendly and super accommodating she makes you feel at home straightaway! Even down to inviting me to have dinner with her and her colleagues one night. Apartment is perfectly located, super easy access to the city but also a little oasis of calm. View is really incredible! Hope to go back next time I'm in Sydney.
Rosemary's place is wonderfully located in a quiet, lovely suburb of Sydney within easy walking distance of Edgecliff train station, from which You can go anywhere. The bedroom is neat, clean and comfortable. Rosemary is very nice and busy with her own business, which she and her assistant run out of her home, but she is happy to offer suggestions of fun activities or even invite you out with her very nice friends.
I had a very nice, long stay with Rosemary. Oh, and her cleaner comes in at least once a week and does your laundry!! :)
Location with views. Having breakfast while looking at the harbor bridge is very hard to beat. Nice spacious apartment, which is close to everything, train, buses and ferry. Both Rushcutters Bay and Double Bay are both just a 5 minute walk. Rushcutters has some very nice cafe's and restaurants by the water. Nice little coffee shop just 30secs from apartment.
Rosemary is a really nice and lovely host. Everything was good, she explained what we had to know and if we had questions, she was there to answer. We recomman her as a host.
Thanks for the great time I had in your apartment!i can really recommend this nice room in darling point!such a perfect view of harbour bridge and opera house from the balcony...
Rosemary is such a nice host and I had a great time with her!i will definitely come back...
What can I saw about Rosemary - a lovely woman, laid-back, accommodating, funny, kind, and most of all, a fantastically located place with killer views! I spent a month with her in Darling Point, a beautiful area of Sydney that's close enough to the CBD, but not too close that it's overwhelming.
I'd highly recommend you stay with her.
Rosemary is a superb lady and very kind. During my 2 week stay while searching for an apartment, she often offered to take me out to the beaches or pubs. The cleaning lady is a definite bonus. I would say the only downside for me is that the apartment is slightly far from Edgecliff station, about 15 minutes. It is a relatively short walk but not great when I'm late for work and running for the trains. It should be fine for travellers on a flexible schedule and actually quite scenic.
