  • The stay at Antonella's apartment was ok. If there was a problem, she tried to solve it, like it was with the internet. Had no internet access in the room for 3 weeks (out of 4 weeks), just low signal in the kitchen or the entrance where it's not comfortable to sit for a longer time and try to (website hidden) or send emails with large interruptions and without privacy... But as the problem was not solved up to then, she organized a USB stick, so that I was able to connect to the internet finally in the room. Due to facility, everything what is needed in a flat for a shorter stay is available. The location of the apt is quite good, especially because its near Via Marconi, where you have a variety of shops (for clothes and shoes, optician, household, supermarkets, ...), just the historic city centre is a bit far away, but its an acceptable time of around 30min bus ride.

  • We had a wonderful stay in Antonella's apartment, it was the perfect base for our long weekend in Rome.

We were welcomed by Antonella's niece, Lavinia, who was very friendly and helped us out with advice on travel around the city and some great tips for local restaurants!

The apartment itself is beautiful, clean and comfortable. We were pleasantly surprised by how quiet it was at night too, and getting a good nights sleep helped us enjoy the break all the more. The location is perfect for seeing the major sights, and we found everything we needed within a short walk.

We hope to be back one day!

    Thanks!

    Russ, Linz and Adam.

Dear Russell, thanks for your nice review.I am glad you enjoy your stay in my apt and in Rome. Arrivederci!

  • I had a thoroughly unpleasant experience staying at Daniella's house this last week in Rome. From the beginning, Daniella was difficult. I planned to stay at her house for three nights (March 26 - 28) while I was visiting friends in the city. Daniella was difficult to get a hold of on the date of my arrival, and informed me that she would not be home and available to let me into her house until 8:30pm, despite the fact that my plane arrived 6 hours earlier, at around 2:30 in the afternoon.

Daniella should not be an Air BnB host; she is accusatory and dishonest. On the night of the 27th, when I arrived back at the apartment, Daniella escorted me to her bathroom where she accused me of breaking the upper hinge of a window that I had never opened (or even touched). I explained to her that I had been out of the house the entire day, and that I had only used the bathroom sink once the night before when she was in the house. She repeatedly told me that she was "sorry" (for what, I am not sure), and told me to go to bed.

The next morning, I woke up to a notification from Air Bnb, informing me that Daniella had requested that I reimburse her "70 Euros" for costs to repair the window. This figure was arbitrary (or rather, it was fabricated), as there had been no handyman on the premises to assess/appraise the damage. Even worse, when I told her that I would not pay for the alleged "damage," Daniella ordered me to leave the house. This violated our mutual agreement through Air BnB, which permitted me to stay for three nights. Daniella made no attempts to refund me for the cost of the third night.

I was sincerely taken aback at my experience with Daniella, especially given her large number of positive reviews. Perhaps she is easier to deal with if you are not staying at her house near American University (I noticed that she has other spaces listed, which are in downtown Rome). I felt conned and manipulated by Daniella, and would strongly caution any prospective guests from staying with her in the future. If this had been my first experience with Air BnB, I certainly would not have used the website again.

    Response from Antonella:

I would like to point out the rudeness and lack of respect shown by the young Alex Report, already from the first contact to the time of his confirmation , claiming to bring in the accommodation for singles, others to sleep last night ( 28.03.2014 ) together and pointed out that he was concerned that its reservation ONLY ONE PERSON . Then , assuming that it is true the delay of his plane , agreed and amended several times of his time to check in ITS COMFORTABLE , prior to 03.26.2014 and 14.30 of this dovendomi away from MY PLACE OF WORK, not introducing himself and not even responding to repeated emails and scrittegli for news of his itinerary , then for 20.30 , not showing up again, but making call from his friend Cody able to speak Italian , to say that it would be arriavato after dinner , agreeing at 23.30 and arriving after midnight, accompanied by a girl that he entertained in his room and left the apartment after about 30 minutes. As for the damage to the window in my bathroom, it is verficato the next day, when evening upon my return after working on entering , I found the window and even tampered with a slight foul odor of organic espletamenti released probably not for a long time , having regard to the stay in the air. I want to reiterate that the entire apartment and thus the window in question is also protected by a substantial railing against intrusion and to emphasize the fact that the apartment beyond me NOT LIVE NO OTHER PERSON and therefore inconsistent adduction of the young Alex Rapport about the have responsibility for other people who could be transited in the house or the intrusion of thieves from the window , where the railing was, and is intact , they are totally , shall we say , imaginative . Also, being considervolmente practice of the house, I have found and have confidence that in my absence there have been rovistamenti in furniture and cabinets in the various rooms of the house is not locked and not useful for any purpose or need for the young Alex Rapport . I emphasize the fact that I am not a person neither aggressive nor violent , but lover of respect and education , partly because having a mature enough age and having had children , too , depending on the circumstances of use simply exposing healthy firmness certain rules of the house and using bass because the notification of the damage to the window , took place after the 2:00 am hour during the night and the return of Alex and hour no be normal and rational use yelling or overt aggressive behavior or violent . Then over dishonesty , they are much regretted that a young man like Alex Rapport against me using the terms so strong and offensive , since I being a person of far greater age , I...
