When visiting London LOCATION is the key.
It's so huge that you could end up in an area with no tube or limited rail links. No such problem here because you are 2 mins walk from Mornington Crescent tube station with local shops, supermarkets, pubs, good restaurants & just an 8 min walk to CAMDEN MARKET. 10 mins stroll west and you are in London's famous Royal 'The Regents Park' and LONDON ZOO. The British Museum is a 10 min bus ride away.

Take a 6 mins walk to EUSTON Mainline Station, 8 mins walk to EUROSTAR St Pancras International/Kings Cross, and only 10 mins to Georgian Bloomsbury. All in Zone 1 Central London.

**Just 2 tube stops to OXFORD STREET, London's Premier Shopping Street.**
If you go shopping in Covent Garden or Oxford Street, it's only a short bus or tube ride back to drop bags, before touring elsewhere. A 12 minute tube ride south drops you in Leicester Square and 12 mins north starts your exploration of Hampstead, it's village and the Heath. I live behind EUSTON Station with rail links to to the North of England and Scotland should you wish to venture further into the UK.

Buses are plentiful 24/7 and the Boris Bike Scheme Rack is right outside my flat for ardent cyclists.

Your sheets & towels are provided. I sleep on the sofabed in the separate lounge, when guests stay, and it works perfectly - if you rise early or come in late, use the kitchen & bathroom freely ( shared with the host ), it won't disturb me.

Shower Gels & Organic Bath Oils and Soaps from the Marrakech Souks are free for you to use and Jo Malone fragrances after bathing. Pamper yourself. Also, I travel a lot so I know what is required when travelling alone, and how expensive SINGLE BOOKING is, especially in London, hence my value nightly rate :

*No High or Low Season.*

Monday - Thursday. £43 per night.

Friday/Saturday/Sunday £49 per night.
( click CALENDAR above for availability )
*airbnb will then add a small booking admin charge*

LGBT people are welcome, as your host is a gay senior - perfect for single women travelling alone, as well as for gay friendly str8 men.

My I bedroom flat is small and compact, and designed in Moroccan style with low lighting, I love it in autumn or winter when it's dark and cold outside and warm as toast inside - perfect for crashing out after a days sightseeing.

YES! - FREE unlimited High Speed Broadband WiFi in your room ! - Bring an ipad / phone / laptop or use my MacBook Pro to check emails. Multi-Channel TV also in your room if you fancy a night in.

There is a good size desk in the bedroom and any objects you can see in the photos can be stored away if you need more 'laying out' space. I like to spread out a bit when travelling. If you want to spend an evening in, there is no objection, but most visitors want to explore London to the full, with vibrant theatre, club and music venues nearby.

Teas, Coffee & Juices always available throughout your stay & tell me what you like for light breakfast. No 'full english', but no full moroccan either : cereals, fruit, yoghurts, toast, pastries, marmalades etc. With a key fob for entry, come & go as you please. I work from home so I am around in the morning, for sightseeing directions, even if you get up late.

Gated street level entry with key fob, to the 6 storey block via a garden courtyard, has 2 separate security doors with video entry-phone & cameras, so feel safe, and two lifts are ready to take you to the 3rd floor. The flat is NON SMOKING but you can smoke a quick one on the large entrance balcony if needed.

An extensive Personal Development library is available to browse through for bedtime reading, if you just want to get away and find yourself again, get back on track and return refreshed. Find out more about your host by clicking *more info* next to my profile pic.

  • I can only repeat what others have said here about David and his Moroccan Retreat: it's a thumbs-up! I stayed for 5 days, and got on very well with David from the word go. He's a perfect host: there when you need him but he never gets in your hair.

He made me feel very welcome and looked after me very well, too. Thus, I woke up to the smell of fresh coffee, and bread, jam, cereals and fresh fruit salad appeared on the table; a stack of lush towels was all mine; and as David is around a lot, I could always approach him for what turned out to be first-class advice, e.g. about restaurants in the area. I was allowed to use both the fridge and the microwave, so that obviously cut down on the amount of money I had to shell out for food.

The flat itself is an incredible feat of interior design: it is like stepping into another world - shades of orange, cerise, pink and strong blue everywhere, and as the flat is very warm, you really feel as if you were in an exotic location! Although Eversholt Street is fairly busy, the flat is quite quiet, and because the bedroom is at the back, there is next to no noise to disturb your sleep even if you leave the window open 24/7 (as I did). Lots of plugs, good quality wifi, a tele, a big bed, big desk/table. Oh, and it is clean, too.

The location is great if you want to be in central London: the tube (Mornington Crescent, on the northern line) is a minute away; 15 minutes on foot get you to Russell Square; 10 minutes the other way, and you're in the heart of Camden Town.

So, all good! I'll be back!

  • Very nice experience from start to end. Great help with directions and advice on transfers. Apartment is nice and clean. The bed was comfortable and the desk big. I simply have nothing to remark on!

  • Thank you David, you are a wonderful host!
Very pleasant, warm and involving. Lots of fine words have been spoken by the guests, and they are all true. So there is not much more to add to.
David and I had plenty to chat and he will guide you wherever you want to go.
Nice, quiet place to be, clean and comfortable. The breakfast was more than sufficient. Highly recommended.
Next time I will stay longer, David! Until next time, Roel

  • I was in London on business so just needed a calm place to relax before a busy day the next day. David was a very welcoming host and his home is a lovely little slice of Morocco to find in an unexpected place.

The bed was very comfortable, with lots of plugs available nearby for charging my electrical devices, there were fluffy towels and I could use the lotions and potions in the bathroom. Breakfast things were plentiful and of very good quality and the location is excellent, a short walk from Euston or Mornington Crescent and very easy to find. Although I didn't need it there was a lot of local information and advice available and David was always easy to get hold of before the booking.

I'm very glad to be returning for another business trip next month!

  • Everything you've read is true. David is a wonderful and kind host who is easy to talk too and was happy to keep me company during the breakfast he prepared for me. The room is beautifully decorated and makes one feel at home right away. Would love to come back sometime.

  • So many positive reviews for David can't be wrong. And they aren't! I had the most marvelous stay at David's home. He is super welcoming, accommodating, and delivers exactly what he says. The apartment is lovely, well situated, clean and very comfortable. As a host, I enjoyed connecting deeply with David and I thoroughly enjoyed his company. The only sad part was this was a one night stay.

  • After 5 minutes I felt at ease, after 30 I felt at home. Everything regarding my stay with David Parker in London was a fresh breeze of hospitality and friendliness. The pictures provided speak perfectly well for the standard of the apartment, as does the address for its location, but the advertisement can hardly prepare you for what interesting and devoted conversational partner David is. As seems to be the consensus of all his visitors: I can't recommend the Moroccan Retreat enough, and I will surely be visiting again.

  • This was the second time I stayed at David’s, and his Moroccan retreat is really a wonderfully cozy and relaxing place after a busy day in London. The place is in a great central location yet very quiet, beautifully decorated, and a freshly prepared breakfast awaits you in the morning. David is a friendly, thoughtful and easy-going host who’s happy to chat with you, but will also let you go about your business if you have things to take care of. Highly recommended!

  • I don't like to repeat, but I can tell you that all review are valid and true. David is an excellent host, he is not a London bus, but he picked me up at the train station, show me the neighborhood a little bit, facilitate maps and share useful tips.
He also let me the breakfast ready during my short stay (it was not expected and priceless)
He was always friendly and respectful. The room was clean and ready to use. I really enjoyed my short stay in London. I strongly recommend him.
Thanks David for all your hospitality.

  • For a second time I've sent time at David's flat in Camfen and it gets better and better it seems. Clean apartment, gracious host (offering up coffee each morning to this typically hung over lad) and in the perfect neighborhood. Each day before leaving he would even help me confirm my commute on the train to ensue I was going the correct way. Highly recommend his flat, especially seeing as this is the second time I've stayed with him in 7 months. Total sweetheart and well worth it. Thank you again David, and I'm sure I'll see you soon.

Yes Morocco is my spiritual home, ( but I'm White British to be PC, not Moroccan ) London born and lived in London for over 50 years and been clean & sober for over 30 of them. Most of my friends are much younger than me and connected to clubland, music, media, IT or the creative industries. I travel a lot, love blogging and social media. I am not an average pensioner, as you can see from my flat, and my reviews bare this out. Also, I'm not a London Bus ( but on reviews it does show you where you've been ). I am not interested in what you look like ( not should you me ) but much more interested in the energy and content of your written profile and how you communicate with me, so don't hold back! :) LGBTQ people are welcome, as your host is a Gay Senior - perfect for single women travelling alone, as well as for gay friendly str8 men who are not bothered by such things. All welcome. Interests include : Travel, Graphic Design, Art & Architecture, Performance Art, Personal Development, Yogic Rebirthing Breathwork, Spirituality, Coaching, Airports, ebay, The Bloomsbury Group, and daily shopping in M&S.
