A chance to stay in my lovely house whilst I am away! House has one bedroom with two single beds and a large sofa if a friend needs to stay.
Lots of delicious resturaunts and beautiful beaches on the doorstep!
My cosy house in the centre of the busy village of St Agnes is up for rent while I am away. The house was built in the 19th century out of wood from a ship wreck. It has a woodburning stove and is five minutes walk from two beautiful beaches.
There are resturants and pubs close by all serving delicious food! As well as fish and chip shop, and cafes.
Parking is on the road outside the house can get busy however there is always free parking spaces at the top of the lane to the side of my house a minute or so walk away.
There is also a bus stop outside the house with local bus routes to the surrounding towns and villages. Truro is the closest train station if you are without a car.
A perfect base to discover Cornwall... or just St Agnes! Discover the history and legends of Cornwall, or just go surfing!
(Surf shop close by renting boards etc!)
Guests have access to the entire house except my bedroom which is filled with my things.
Interaction with Guests
I will be away but will happily answer any questions. My nieghbour will be doing the cleaning for me and will be available to answer any questions about the house if I am not available.
St Agnes is the most beautiful fishing village with lots of great history and legends.
It is central to the rest of Cornwall and is full of life!
There is a bus stop outside the house and train connections to the rest of th country from Truro train station. Although I would recommend just going for a walk!
Other Things to Note
I have a lovely garden across Wheal Kitty Lane with a gate marked 'private' there is a table and chairs and it is a real treat to sit out in with a glass of wine on a nice evening!
Guests are asked to make themselves feel at home!
I am flexible about check in however I ask that you arrive before 9pm.
We had an amazing time staying at Antonia's. She made us feel at home and she was keen to advise us on where to go and what to visit in Cornwall.
The house is lovely and really comfortable and it is the perfect location to explore Cornwall and St Agnes.
Great house, great host, great stay!
Antonia was an excellent and welcoming hostess. Typical funky cornwall style surf house with the uneven walls and beautiful cottage feel. Antonia is very relaxed and helpful and her house is in walking distance of all the real village amenities of St Agnes ( butcher , baker, candlestick....) and of the sea for surf. I would thoroughly recommend staying here we will definately be back when back in St Agnes. Thanks Antonia.
Antonia is amazing! I would 100% recommend staying at her cottage. The house is a traditional Cornish cottage, my bedroom was comfortable and the bathroom was nicer than a lot of hotels I've stayed at. The main treat though is Antonia herself who treated me like an old friend - she even gave me some chicken soup!
Her home immediately felt like mine too
One of my best airbnb experiences
p.s. and she's very gorgeous too
Antonia was waiting for us when we arrived and showed us where to find everything we would need, as well as maps etc of the local area and where we should go to eat.
The cottage is truly charming, even nicer than in the photos, and the shower is amazing! Saint Agnes is a gorgeous little village, quaint with lots of great pubs and eateries and lovely beaches. Plenty going on but not overrun with tourists.
Antonia was also really helpful when my partner had a problem with their back, she called round friends to find the number of a reliable physio we could call.
Antonia was staying in the house and doing some renovation work on the exterior, which meant scaffolding and a workman painting through a couple of days.
She also went to bed very early (before 9) which meant we had to creep around (not easy on creaky wooden floors) and we also felt uncomfortable using the bathroom in the eve for fear we would wake her.
All in all a pleasant stay and we would definitely return to Saint Agnes.
I am really sorry that Jayne and her girlfriend felt they needed to creep around my house, I simply would not have my spare room on Airbnb if I was scared of noise!
The wooden floorboards do creak, it is a old house (built in 1840s) and subsequently is not as quiet as a modern house and does need to occasionally have maintenance, unfortunatley this happened to fall on the time Jayne was staying.
I will occasionally go to my room early to do some work and give people some space, however I am generally awake until 11ish. Unlike the people staying in my house I am not on holiday and quite often will need to be up early for work.
I think possibly Jayne would have been happier staying in a hotel in the future?
Anyone staying in my house is very welcome and definately do not need to creep around!
Great place to stay.
Carnival had a really good atmosphere.
Inevitably this meant noise level did ramp up a bit. But we had been warned and it was not a problem for us.
Trying to work out when we can get back down again!
Antonia has been a fantastic host, made me feel welcome from the first minute. The house is beautiful and perfectly placed in the centre of St. Agnes. Can only recommend!
You can't get a better place to stay then Antonia's gorgeous cottage in the heart of St Agnes. It's definitely more than a home away from home. The cottage is in a prime location for walking to beach, the pub and all the best eateries in the village. Antonia provides a superb welcome and is beyond generous with her time. It HAS to be mentioned the bath/shower in the cottage are brilliant!
