Mariam was a great host. Although we never met in person, Mariam was always available via text or phone with any questions we had. The apartment was very clean and comfortable to stay in. From the French Quarter we paid $15 for a cab with tip.
Miriam was a lovely host. Her house is very clean, spacious and in a quiet neighborhood. Miriam provided great recommendations on a sheet for us (i.e.: Buttermilk Bakery--their donuts are amazing!). She's also a very prompt correspondent, so if you have any concerns, she'll address it quickly. I would recommend this place if you want to be in a low key, yet convenient location. It's a nice spot to jump off from if you want to visit the French Quarter, Uptown, Tulane University etc. Also some Mardis Gras tips: if you have to cross St. Charles, or get into the French quarter, make sure to do so before the parades start or way after they finish. Lastly, if you want to leave the French Quarter during Mardis Gras, look for cabs from Rampart and Canal.
We truly enjoyed staying at Miriam's shotgun house. We felt right at home and it was great to stay there after so many nights spent in faceless hotels. This house is a New Orleans attraction on its own. Very clean, comfy apartment! Would definitely recommend staying there.
Our first airbnb experience and it was better than we expected. Miriam's very cool ad the house was just what we needed on our last day of vacation. A nice bed (three of them, actually), a kitchen with everything, a TV and CD player and a porch swing. We sat out there in the morning and met Miriam's neighbors who are great. This is a real New Orleans neighborhood. We met people who've lived on that street for over 30 years. Though we didn't need them, there were several heaters and air conditioners throughout the cozy home and the attention to detail was obvious. Judging from the journal Miriam leaves on the table, she has had many, many satisfied visitors and goes the extra mile, when asked. Here's the best part, it's quiet. We were there for the very front edge of Mardi Gras and the hotel we stayed in our first four nights was noisy all night, though well away from the French Quarter. It's a house with no shared walls. We slept like babies. Thank you, Miriam. We'll be back.
Miriam and her place were absolutely great. It's located in a very local, lived-in area that I think is really good about giving you a real New Orleans vibe. She was totally responsive and the apartment was clean and well-equipped.
Thanks Miriam! The house was perfect, comfortable and clean. Lots of info on local sights and activites. We loved our stay!
Miriam was great, very responsive. The place was clean, very hospitable, good movie selection, and just overall a blast. We will definitely come again our next visit in NOLA and recommend her place! Thank you Miriam!
We enjoyed our one night stay in Miriam's cozy shotgun house. It was cold the night we stayed, but the gas wall heater kept us nice and warm. The bed was comfortable, the shower worked well and everything was clean. WI FI worked well. We were able to use the washer and drying rack for a load of laundry. Wish we could've stayed a little longer.
Miriam was a great host! Her place is clean, comfortable, and well equipped. One of the best deals on Airbnb. I heartily recommend her.
The Sunshine Apartment was in a real New Orleans neighborhood; it was a shotgun house with a porch and swing and parking. It was large, clean with comfortable beds and a fully equipped kitchen. It was within walking distance of the Buttermilk Drop Bakery, and is a new favorite we'll return to on any future visits.
