Our house is on three levels. The self contained, air conditioned studio apartment for two is on the lower level and dedicated to our Airbnb guests. It offers complete privacy. It has it's own private entrance and is not accessible through our house. There is a sparkling pool for you to use and a comfortable chair to relax on underneath the Pandanus palms surrounded by eucalyptus bushland.
Secluded, private, pool side, room nestled into the trees on the side of the spectacular Mount Coolum. The apartment has a queen bed, shower, toilet, table and two chairs, couch, microwave, kettle, toaster, sandwich maker, electric skillet, blender, TV, BluRay DVD player (with an eclectic collection of great movies), fridge, towels, (beach and bath), hair dryer, wardrobe and coffee plunger. You can enjoy your meal on the outside table in a tropical bush setting. There are a few basic food items such as salt and pepper, salad dressing, oil, coffee, marmalade, vegemite, margarine and honey. Please note there is no hot plate in the kitchenette, however there is a Weber BBQ outside your room for your use - let us know and we will give you instructions on its use. Tea, coffee, sugar & milk are provided. We sometimes leave some surprises for you.
The private undercover outdoor barbecue area overlooks our bird attracting garden and Mt Coolum National Park.
We have recently added a new laundry for the use of guests. It has a front loading washing machine, dryer and large sink. Great for travellers.
Just a few steps and you're on the walking track to the most spectacular view of the Sunshine Coast.
Only 2 minutes drive to a long, clean, safe surf beach.
A café at Peregian, Hand of Fatima, has the locals raving. There are good cafés at Marcoola - Bulli and Little Boat which are only a few minutes away by car. Let us know what you think of their coffee.
In 5 -10 minutes you can drive to the town of Coolum.
We are half way between Noosa and Mooloolaba which both have an excellent range of restaurants and cafes. If you're heading to Noosa for coffee, our favourite is Little Cove. It's always busy.
At Cotton Tree, not far from the Sunshine Plaza, towards the beach, we recommend, Urban Garden. A new coffee nook in the Sunshine Plaza, Foster and Black, also serves excellent coffee. This is a short walk from Urban Garden.
There are two golf courses very close, (Palmer Resort and Mt Coolum) and several on the Sunshine Coast.
The Sunshine Coast airport is about ten minutes drive.
If you are looking for a relaxing escape or somewhere central and quiet to base yourself while exploring the area, then Mount Coolum Hideaway is the place for you.
If you want to get back to nature then you've found an Australian paradise!
Guests can borrow surfboards. There's many surf beaches on the sunshine Coast. Just ask us for an update on conditions before heading off.

Gary and Debbie
Hi I'm Gary.
I live with my wife, Debbie, beside spectacular Mt Coolum. I love living on the Sunshine Coast, surfing most days and enjoying the outdoors. We are both full time teachers, so we won't be around much on week days. Our two sons have moved out and we have a self contained, private unit which we like to share. We love traveling and talking to others about their travel adventures. Last year we went to Costa Rica and Mexico. We stayed at several airbnbs and loved them all. We are looking forward to meeting you soon. Cheers, Gary.
