♥ Owl or Nothing has 'adopted' a little injured Barred Owl named Artemis from the Carolina Raptor Center! A portion of your stay goes directly to the raptor center monthly to help feed Artemis and other local owls. More info about Artemis can be found in the guest guide located in the home.

The Owl or Nothing accommodation features a master bedroom on the main downstairs level, equipped with a queen bed suitable for guests with mobility impairments (however, please note that there are a few stairs at the front entry of the home). The main level also has a full bathroom, the only one available on this level. Moving upstairs, you will discover two more bedrooms with queen-size beds accompanied by two twin memory foam pull-outs, as well as another full bathroom.

Guest access
The house is equipped with a keyless entry. You will be issued a personal code that expires upon checkout. Just enter the home and relax after your long journey. Please let me know if you want me to meet you upon arrival!

Guests have access to the entire house and property. Driveway parking is uncovered and plentiful.

Other things to note
This home is carefully managed by the owner with love and attention to detail. We prioritize quick response times, local knowledge, and fostering meaningful connections with our guests while also respecting your privacy.

Please note that smoking is not allowed in the home and parties are prohibited in accordance with Wake County short-term rental regulations. Quiet hours are in effect from 10 pm to 8:30 am.

Whipoorwhill Downs is a serene and peaceful neighborhood, perfect for those looking for a quiet and relaxing getaway. With towering trees and well-maintained properties, taking a stroll around the area is a true delight. You'll be able to take in the fresh air and natural beauty, while also admiring the unique architecture of the charming homes in the neighborhood. Plus, the friendly neighbors are sure to give you a warm welcome and make you feel right at home.

Owl or Nothing is close to Downtown Raleigh, Cary, Apex, & minutes to Historical Yates Park, and Lake Wheeler Beach Park! Family-owned farms (Hidwell Family Farms is our neighbor), NC State agricultural land, and wooded acreage surround it.

Lake Wheeler: Whether you're here for work or pleasure, get out and enjoy a nearby walk (or provided rocking chair relax sesh) at the 800-acre Lake Wheeler Park. A few min drive will bring you to a large Lakefront recreation area with beach, boat rentals, picnic pavilions & a children's playground.

Historical Yates Mill Park: One of the Raleigh area's most iconic and photographed parks, this wildlife refuge & agricultural-history site is centered around an 18th-century water-powered gristmill. Also, just minutes from the house, the 172-acre park has a 10-acre pond and four miles of hiking trails (much of it single-track)!

There are several other things to do in Apex, NC:

1. Visit Salem Street: This is the main street in downtown Apex and is lined with shops, restaurants, and historical buildings.

2. Halle Cultural Arts Center: This center features art exhibits, live performances, and classes in dance, music, and theater.

3. Apex Farmers Market: The farmers market is open on Saturdays and features fresh produce, baked goods, and crafts.

4. Apex Nature Park: This park has several trails for hiking and biking, a fishing pond, and a play area for children.
