check in was easy. we received the check-in Information a day before arrival. Ahmet gave us a different room that we booked cuz ours wasn't ready yet. the room was clean, the beds were squeaking, towels were provided, the ceiling in the bathroom and the shower was mouldy. it was a bit noisy but it didn't bother me too much. the Café downstairs was cute. the Location is perfect. two minutes from Victoria and walking distance to Buckingham Palace, big ben, etc. it's obviously not a Hotel. but if you spend most of the time outside it's ok for the Price.
well located for this price. However the room was not the one we booked, no hot water with the shower and the bed was not really clean...
Well we got to the place on the morning around 10am and we still had no contact with the host :( we were wondering next to the flat when we got called by a gentleman of the next door cafe that give us access to the flat so in my opinion this was Bad right away because we call the host no answer and the people that give us access to the flat was not the Host so i believe the Host as no idea what the word Host means. Any way we got access to the flat look small but the location was great and for the price in the area we couldn't expect much more at least had our own bathroom. We relax a little and we notice some water marks on the selling but it was dry so we thought is jus one night so will be ok. We went to London spent a good nine hours walking around the city when we come back to the flat around 19:00 we found the room pouring water from the sealing on top of the bed next to the door and the floor was also full of water we had to found a place to stay in a rush we were lucky to find one in croydon so we end up spend more in trains and trams we call the Host obviously no answer and we contacted the same person that give access to the room that suggested that we would change the bed cheats and we could still stay there?????? Well i requested a refund right there and then the gentleman said that had to speak to the Host the same one that didn't Answer the phone.
We finally manage to speak to the host that said would refund us by bank transfer.
So we move on to the next place.
Well if you ask me would you book this place again? I believe you know the answer.
If you ask my girlfriend she would say Airbnb Never again.
So i believe Airbnb is great web page but Host like this will damage the image of the site.
From 1 to 10
Has a weird smell in the room. Guess it was from the toilet!
Wifi was terribly weak and disconnected frequently.
Location is the only great thing as it's only mins away from victoria train stn and few mins more from victoria coach stn.
Host was prompt in our booking and requests.
The landlord allowed us to place the baggages before 2pm. However, we were not able to check in right after 2pm as the cleaner hasn't started their chore yet.
Me and my boyfriend stayed overnight in room number 4. From reading previous reviews we knew what to expect so were not shocked or surprised at the appearance of the room.
- Good location to tube and coach stations.
- Convenient cafe underneath the rooms.
- Relatively clean room.
- Margita and the cafe owner seemed nice.
- Ceiling heater warmed the room quickly.
- Emails were replied to quickly.
- A plastic section of the shower was broken.
- Very small bathroom.
- Toilet continues to make loud noises for a considerable amount of time after flushing.
- Kettle full of limescale with a broken lid and a couple of slightly dirty cups were provided.
- Could only get two channels on the tv, bbc 1 and heart radio station.
- Very poor internet connection which could only support one appliance at a time. Considering we both have smartphones and had a laptop this was inconvenient.
Overall we had no issues staying here, it was perfectly acceptable for an overnight stay and we would both consider staying here again. The location is the winning factor of this room, but if you don't mind a small room and bathroom Margita's accommodation is acceptable and quite cute for a couple.
It's a cozy room with a great location. If you're up to explore London and just need a place to sleep and take a shower, this room is perfect
The room is really small -- no wardrobe, just a chair, and barely a place to open a suitcase (thank heavens we had only one!). But the bathroom was not small, it was tiny -- quite impossible to use a towel without hitting something. There were no facilities at all to hang or place a towel or clothes. The shower cabin needed renovation badly -- on our second day it lost one of its details, which then occupied 10 сentimetres of so precious floor space. Sometimes one could have a rather long time in order not to freeze while taking a shower.
In the description it was stated that the room had tea facilities -- in fact there was only an electric kettle: no cups or glasses of any sort to make some tea. It was quite a dissapointment, we had to use the souvenir mugs we'd bought.
Another unexpected thong was a necessity to move out to the hotel nearby for the last night (Margita wrote about it a week before though, saying that the owner had triple booking for that night). That hotel was bearable, but it caused additional trouble because of extra packing and unpacking. Moreover, the guy at the reception desk there didn't let us leave our lugguage -- therefore we had to pay additionally 9 pounds for a locker at the Victoria station -- expenses we didn't expect at all!
All in all -- quite an experience, OK if it is only 1-2 nights to spend -- the location is indeed a big advantage. Though I'm not sure I will go for it once more.
UPD Almost forgot! There was no wi-fi as well. There were some networks available, but they all required credentials to join, which we were not aware of.
Very cheap stay in central London is the only good thing to say about this place. It was cheap and central!
Very very noisy, bad bed, miserable and just functional bathroom ( shower was tiny but surprisingly worked!). Toilets made an awful sound when flushed.
Room was dirty on arrival, although quick response from owner who has cafe under the rooms.
Had read reviews and knew what to expect. Still chose to go and indulge on other things instead of paying for room.
2 min walk from Victoria station, great break fast at le pain quotidien across the road
This room was tiny, dirty, cramped and very depressing. There was only an old kettle, radio clock and TV. No fridge. Also no coat hangers in the wardrobe and no where to put anything. The bathroom was so small, I barely fit in the shower and the toilet didn't flush properly. Saying all that, it was the cheapest place I could find, there were some good shops, cafes and supermarkets around and it was minutes from Victoria station. So, if you're on a budget and don't care about the above mentioned then go for it.
The best thing about Margita Rooms is that they are VERY close to the train station. 2 minutes walk to one of the main stations in London. and when it is closed, there is a night bus from Oxford Circus to the station, 24 hours! so if you want to hang out after the underground is closed, the bus will take you to the rooms ASAP.
The room is nice, not so clean but good enough for tourists who seek a place to sleep. the price is very reasonable and the staff took care of everything i asked them to do. i enjoyed the stay and will definitely come back.
