Description

The Space

Cool, modern, and refined - this hip, newly remodeled apartment is situated in a charming Victorian home - ready for you to entertain yourself and relax after a hard day exploring the wonders of San Francisco.

This modern-rustic, chic apartment in a charming Victorian home combines the best of San Francisco Victorian architecture with a newly remodeled, stylish apartment that features the cheerful, spacious aspect of interior modern design.

The master bedroom is cozy and warm with floor to ceiling windows. The french doors open out onto a beautiful garden patio, replete with Japanese Maples, wildflowers, and hummingbirds. *Note, backyard currently has some landscape work being done on it. The master bedroom, as with the main lounge area, comes with sconce lighting for a soft change in the evening, as well as wardrobe, ironing board, additional linens and pillows, everything you might need to be comfortable. The master queen itself has a hypoallergenic latex 100% organic latexco mattress - which is soft, and inviting.

Adjacent to the queen-size bed there is a little nook with a bunk bed, soft linens, colorful tones, and two sunny windows. During the day, this nook also doubles as a study for those so inclined - with a brightly colored desk, under a wood clad window looking out at the ancient trees of Holly Park and the bright San Francisco sky.

There is also a brand new couch that opens to a full-size bed, which is very comfortable with a mattress topper. In total, there are four beds (one queen, two twins), and a comfortable couch that can open to a queen. It can sleep 6 people easily, maybe 8 if the small ones squeeze onto the twin beds. If you have an infant, we also have a portacot with sheets. There are toys, and high-chair, if you have need.

There is a fully outfitted stainless kitchen with an island, 2 stools, dining table with four chairs, custom quartz counter, and retro-chic tableware, perfect for entertaining.

And speaking of entertaining, our neighborhood is lovely if you like great food and cocktails. A close walk to Cortland Ave, you can feast at gourmet Bernal Star, or catch a movie with the kids in Bernal Star's movie garden. Or you might like to try Glen Park's Bistrot Francais. A neighborhood gem - a tiny place, loud and energetic with deliriously delicious food. (Make sure you are mindful how much you eat because dessert is captivating.) Then again, you might just like to make your way to Valencia Street - and go to Bar Tartine or Pizzeria Delfina - bold, creative, delicious restaurants with wonderful service and a vibrant atmosphere. And then you could take a walk in the morning down to Sandbox Bakery, and perhaps enjoy a Valrhona chocolate croissant, a triple ginger snap, and Latte made from Ritual Roasters or De La Paz beans (two of San Francisco's finest coffee roasters - my personal favorites). And if you worry you may have over-indulged, you can run (or stroll) it off the next morning with a circuit around nearby Glen Canyon (a wild expanse of forest that only the locals know about), featuring miles of gorgeous paths, or Bernal Hill, featuring amazing views of the Golden Gate Bridge, Mount Tamalpais, Berkeley, and the entire Silicon Valley. And if you're traveling with kids, there's a playground at Holly Park (with baseball diamond, tennis court, basketball court) - again, stunning views of the city (and a great place for a picnic with fire pits for barbecuing.)

The apartment has free wifi, a delightful new shower, new Maestro cast iron soaker tub, custom subway tile work with niches, fully equipped kitchen with new stainless KitchenAid appliances, quartz countertops, Grohe faucets, dimmable lighting, mahogany etched slate-smooth floors, custom Victorian molding and trim work.

We are very close to public transport, bars, and cafes - downtown is a quick 10 minute train ride, or a 15-20 minute bus ride.

We are relaxed, happy hosts - here to help if you need it, and invisible if you prefer to relax without interruption. It is a fun, cheerful, and inspiring space, perfect for resting after all your adventures, or a great space for launching them. We love our home and hope you will, too.

If you have to mix pleasure with business, we're 15 minutes from the CalTrain which takes you close to all the main campuses in Silicon Valley - Apple, (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN), Tesla, etc. And in terms of getting to the apartment from the airport, you can take a cab here, the BART, a bus, the Super Shuttle (a very inexpensive, great way to get here -- just search for “Super Shuttle" to check fares and schedule a pick-up/ drop-off). Getting here with public transportation is very inexpensive and very easy. You just take BART to the Glen Park stop from the airport walk a couple of blocks (or you can jump on the MUNI BUS 23 Monterey at the station and take it to the corner of “Leese" and “Crescent").

We are extremely close to multiple MUNI stops (San Francisco's public transportation system), so public transportation is easy, cheap and plentiful. However, if you're driving, please note that while we do not have a parking spot, it's an easy neighborhood to find free parking in. And the good news is that (apart from street sweeping every two weeks) parking on our street is unlimited.
