  • We arrived late on our first night and Gloria was very accommodating. The King room was spacious and very comfortable. Rich and Gloria are casual, engaging, comfortable hosts and we will definitely go back. It was more like staying with friends than at a B&B.

  • We loved staying with Rich and Gloria! Now we have friends in Philly!
The house is truly a villa with beauty and comfort everywhere! Rich is a gifted tour guide who took us for a personal tour with lots of stories and insights about Phiily. He is so funny and kind. Gloria is generous, artful, and
soulful as a person and a fabulous cook and hostess as well. Our room was
comfortable and spacious. Breakfast was set beautifully with special treats each day including perfectly ripe fruit--strawberries, raspberries, and melon in this cold winter season. Each morning there were interesting international and national guests at breakfast which too was lovely. i feel sorry for
those who stay in isolation in a hotel when they travel. i am thankful to Rich and Gloria for a lovely 3 night stay and are looking forward to the next time.

  • This was a beautiful and appropriately historic B & B in Philadelphia. The host and hostess were gracious, attentive, entertaining, and great to be with. We were there on a snowy weekend and found the rooms warm and extremely comfortable. The food was outstanding. We will return when next in Phillie!

  • Could not have ordered two people as wonderful as Rich & Gloria. We were made to feel so welcome, we love the beautiful Historic Room we stayed in and the beautiful antiques everything was perfect. Gloria is a marvelous chef and Rich the perfect host. I cannot forget to mention Rocky their beautiful Dog who completely stole away our hearts. Best place ever!

  • Rich & Gloria were very gracious hosts - they clearly enjoy pleasing their guests. Their mid-19th century home is roomy, comfortable, well furnished & decorated. There is a large first floor dining room for breakfast, and a large sitting room where you can relax with coffee. Our 2nd floor room was very large with a huge bed that must have been larger than standard king-size. Gloria cooks a wonderful breakfast with an endless supply of blueberry pancakes. A large coffee making machine is set up the night before - if you are an early riser, just turn it on & coffee is ready in minutes. Rich is very familiar with local history going back to the Revolutionary War and he does tours - we regret we did not have one during our stay. The home is in Germantown, which was the site of an important battle. The bathroom was shared with 1 or 2 other rooms, and this should be taken into account when planning bathing. Overall, this was a very pleasant experience.

  • Rich and Gloria's home was the perfect bed and breakfast that transported you to a relaxing historical period of grace and beauty! Their service was second to none. They will always be my first choice when I visit Philly - I can't thank them enough for their hospitality.

  • ~ A true WOW in PHILADELPHIA~

From start to finish, a completely positive experience!

Rich handled our initial telephone inquiry like the PROFESSIONAL TOUR GUIDE for PHILADELPHIA that he is in every possible way. His service was friendly, helpful, and welcoming.

I should mention that I was a completely new user to the airbnb platform. It was Rich (not airbnb) who gave the most help and guidance to me to use it.

Next I will address the quality of the total package.

We arrived heavily laden and our vehicle was packed for an extended stay - complete with our traveling felines. We received a greeting plus an offer of help. There was private parking behind this house on Walnut Lane, close to all the wonders of the great city of Philadelphia!

The house, these hosts' home, is a real gem. Have a good look at the photos - then go appreciate it for yourself. It is a beautiful historical house in a glorious location. You'll be amazed by all the trees and natural beauty right in this distinct Germantown neighborhood.

If you are not driving, the Tulpehocken train station is within walking distance.

Gloria is the hostess with the most-est! What wonders we enjoyed at the breakfast table. She asked what would be our desire for the timing of our breakfasts. Then, in a beautiful dining room, we shared fun conversation with our hosts and the other guests in residence.

On the first morning we got to enjoy GLORIA's GLORIOUS PANCAKES. Like other reviews have mentioned, these are indeed the very best pancakes you will ever be served - YUMMY and also beautifully presented. Gloria was more than gracious when asked for her recipe by offering the details to assure my own success.

The room we booked was on the second floor, just steps from the shared hall bath. It is indeed a room for a king (and queen!) Despite a bit of initial apprehension, there were no awkward moments in sharing this bath. The room and bath are well equipped. We had many conveniences to utilize - not to mention a truly comfortable King size bed.

It deserves mentioning that this B&B is a real find for those of us who need to travel with our friendly, well behaved pets. Gloria and I discussed our expectations to our mutual satisfaction upon arrival.

In summary, HIGHEST PRAISE to this couple for making our first experience utilizing the airbnb such a success.

To our great host and hostess, I look forward to returning to Philadelphia. GLORIA and RICH personally made "Philly" a great representative of the tourism slogan: "PHILADELPHIA, the city that loves you back!"

If you decide to travel to Philadelphia, you are sure to enjoy this property. Here's why: you will get exceptional value and comfort along with remarkable attention to detail from this pleasant, accommodating host couple. I raise my glass to Gloria and Rich, our great PHILADELPHIA host and hostess! Thank you kindly!

Thank you Deborah for taking the time to leave such a heart-warming and sincere review of your stay at our B&B, Villa Anna. Please come back and see us again real soon! Having you, Joe and your 2 Kitty's here was truly our pleasure!

    Best Wishes,
    Rich & Gloria

  • Great Historic House with private secure parking. Will return when we are back in Philadelphia.

  • My wife and I had a great week here! The location was great. You can walk 7 minutes to the train that takes you in to the city. We had Rich take us on a tour on our second day and liked it so much we went on another tour with him on the third day. He really is a professional tour guide. We would not have learned or seen that much of the city if we stayed there a month otherwise. Gloria is beautiful, very gracious and a wonderful cook. She is an artist too. I wish we had had time to look through her little store where she sells her hand made creations right by the front door. The room we stayed in was huge and the bed was very comfortable. Sharing the bathroom was never a problem. The shower had great hot water. Our overall experience was very pleasant and I would definitely recommend staying here. I'm glad that we did not stay in a hotel by the airport because we would have missed so much. Thank you for such a great experience!
