BedStuy is one of the hot neighborhoods right now in Brooklyn, NY! Wow, it really has shifted over the years. I've been a resident here for 10 and it's really amazing to see all of the history blend with all of the trendy up and coming places to eat, drink, and play all within a few blocks of walking! Over all what I love is that it's incredibly diverse and non pretentious!
Public transit is very close. 5 blocks walking to the local train, 6 (longer) blocks to the express train. There are also great buses that run frequently and accurately to cross town locations as well very close by. :) It's only 15 minutes to Manhattan.
To be respectful and honor each other, we observe quiet hours after 12am until 8 am. (No noise is to be heard outside of your room.)
No smoking indoors. If you decide to smoke, please do so out on the front stoop.
Any damages to the property, yourself, or your guests beyond the fault of the property and it's management will be your responsibility as to all reparations.
You of course may have guests over to visit during non quiet hours, but no parties (3 or more people) without permission. Please inform me of any guests who'll be staying over night at the house with you as we'll need to negotiate the terms.

All trash must be put in proper receptacles.
My stay with Hayley was just wonderful. Hayley is a warm, welcoming person, and an amazing host. The room is spacious, bright, and clean, and in a beautiful Brownstone house. The neighbourhood is lovely, even in winter. And the house is just a few block from the Kingston-Throop subway stop, so very convenient when you want to go to Manhattan. I loved staying with Hayley, and I really recommend this place!
Hayley was friendly (thanks for staying up so late for our check-in) and easy-going. Overall very smooth person :) Room is huge and bright, bed was comfy. Kitchen and bathroom are downstairs. I'm actually scared of dogs (and I still booked the place b/c it looked so great!) and was a bit tense when entering the kitchen/bathroom b/c Jasmine was waiting there for me :) If you love animals/pets (there is a cat too), you might love it even more, but if you're not the pet type, I thought you should know. And yes, I guess they are both lovely animals :)
It's five blocks (6-7min) to the C line (subway), there are bus stops around. We were in Midtown Manhattan in about 30 min. Were not in the neighborhood often, but it looks nice and calm.
If you don't mind traveling a tiny bit to Manhattan and are not scared of dogs, this is a great place to stay! Hayley, thanks again for the MoMa help!
I stayed at Hayley's place for three months....until this point one of the best times of my life!
Hayley and the rest of the people in the building are very friendly and open, which made this place feel like home whenever I came back from Manhattan. The neighbourhood is very calm, lots of families, and also very safe in my opinion. I never felt unsafe, possibly because there are always people in the street coming from the subway, even around 3AM.
Anyway, if you are looking for a short or longterm stay in NY this place is just perfect, it's clean, the room is very big, there is a cozy garden....but most important, the people are just great and inspiring !

About the Host, Hayley
Greetings! I look forward to hosting you in our Historic Brownstone Duplex! Our home is really a different experience because it feels open and spacious, and as I like to call it, more like an "urban oasis." I'm the property manager, your hostess, and I live on site. With years in hospitality, I do have a sense for what makes comfort and I love to see others feeling relaxed and happy.
As a tidbit about myself, I'm also a visual artist. My work has it's roots in drawing, painting, and mixed media. That being said, I love all things creative but also have a love for organic cuisine, wine, natural health/wellness, and animals. (We live with a beautifully sweet larger dog and cat!) Some things I really appreciate are mutual respect in honesty, maturity, quiet ambiance, cleanliness, and of course, learning through laughter! Operating within the "Golden Rule," people often describe me as a generously gracious and a genuinely kindred spirit who understands that kindness is not a weakness.
I do look forward to hopefully meeting you and Bon Voyage!
