Fun student's flat - SHARED ROOM 1

Apartment - Shared room · Via Cappuccina, Venice, Veneto 30172, Italy

The Space

We are a group of international students, artists, young and nice people who share a flat. In summer we have some bed places free and we share it with fellow students/artists/young people visiting Venice.
The room is the one in the photo or an other, all places are in shared double rooms, you will have one single bed, one table and one chair, a closet. In the room there will be drying rack, iron and small ironing board.
Breakfast is generally NOT provided, but you can use the kitchen any time and there are cheap supermarkets around.
We also live in the flat and we are doing some progressive renovation, so there can be be a little bit of mess around the flat but of course not in your part of the room, that will be given clean and ready.

Our flat is located in Mestre, in the mainland of Venice, not in the part with canals and gondolas. To go to the Historical Center of Venice you have to take the bus or train and takes exactly 10 minutes. Buses run all day and all night, so there is no limit of transport.
The flat is in a strategic position:
- 3 minutes walking to Venezia Mestre train station (all trains stop there)
- 2 minutes walking to the ATVO bus terminal for the airports (VCE Marco Polo and TSF Treviso)
- cheap/free parking area just in front of the building
- we have one private parking space for one car (10 euro extra/day)
- in the surroundings of the flat there are very cheap and good supermarkets and any kind of shops, also ethnic (Indian, Chinese, Bangladesh, African, Russian, ...) plus normal and cheap Italian restaurants (much better quality and lower prices compared to the touristic area)
Buses to/from Venice Historical Center (island part) run all day (every 2-5 minutes) and all night (every 20 minutes), one ride costs just 1.30 euro and it takes just 10 minutes to get there.
It's also possible to get to Venice Old Town by train (less frequent, 1,20 euro).

Indicative arrival time should be agreed at least few days in advance.
If you don't provide in advance arrival time, we can't guarantee that there will be someone home all day to wait you, we have also our life.

At the beginning of your stay we provide you:
- keys of the flat and keys of your room
- information booklet with maps and info about the city and the flat (in English)
- clean room with fresh sheets, pillowcases, blankets and towels

Shower gel, shampoo and soap for washing machine is available in the bathroom.

At the end of your stay, before 12:00 (noon) you are expected to:
- leave the room reasonably clean
- return they keys provided
- put used bedsheets, blankets, pillow cases and towels in the proper container in the bathroom
If you need to leave your luggage in the flat till your departure you can get an other pair of keys to enter in the flat later in the day.

There are two shared bathrooms, with bath tub/shower, washing machine, hair blow dryer. One bath tub is also jacuzzi, if you want to relax after a long day.
There is a big and comfortable living room and kitchen corner, big fridge, WiFi Internet and there is one PC that is available for shared use of everybody.
The living room is available for cooking, talking, partying all day and all night by everybody in a shared way, it is not allowed to sleep on sofas.

  • Tom is extraodinary! He picked me up in the station and prepared excellent dinner for us every night. He showed us around Venice at night and invited me to an art exhibition. You get to explore Venice from a local point of view! I bet he is the best host on airbnb ever. You really won't regret staying here. It is literarily just 2 minutes from the rail station. The booklet is just fantastic. I received a great deal of help from Tom. I won't list them all.. it will make his life much more difficult later haha. Just come and stay. Don't even trouble yourself comparing with other listings.

  • Tom was fantastic! He was so welcoming and generous with his time and knowledge. He has a great informational booklet he wrote with helpful advice about getting around Venice etc. I had breakfast and dinner with him and his flat mates, which was really nice. The room was very clean, and the apartment is very conveniently located near the main train station and bus stop to get to Venice in 10 minutes. I highly recommend staying here! I had a terrific experience.

  • Recommend Tom's house to you without doubt. I should say I felt at home within five minutes after I arrived. I met Tom and we talked like old friends. You don't wanna miss the Venice survival guide given by Tom - very specific, detailed and hilarious. Tom is a very good chef for sure. The apartment has everything you need, and it's very friendly and warm. It is located in the residential area in Venice, where you could avoid most tourists and enjoyed a bit as a resident. There still too much to say...thanks Tom's house gave me a feeling at home when I travelled alone.

  • I would recommend Tom's flat. Everything you need is there, and its only a 10 min bus ride away from Venice's city center. Tom is a great host, even invited me out with him and his friends to an art exhibition in Mestre my first night there. And then after he cooked a lovely pasta dinner! He truly did his best to accommodate us. Also provided us with maps and a guide with how to get around the city. No complaints!

  • Tom was a great host. Had an amazing book put together to make getting around and places to see very easy. All his flat mates were very polite as well. For the price, it's a great way to go. It's not pristine so if that is what you are looking for, look elsewhere. Reminded me of college living. Good times.

  • My best airbnb experience so far!

Tom was a fantastic host! Already in our corespondance, he gave me so much great advice about traveling and Italy. When I arrived I got a little booklet he personally whic contained tons of useful informations about the flat, neaigborhood and Venice. (I do suggest strongly that you read it - it will save you so much time and money and initiate you into little secrets of locals).

Location of the flat is great, less than 5 minutes walk from the railway and bus station, good connection to airports, close to several supermarkets and 10 minutes bus ride to Piazza de Roma in Venice. My room was clean, with comfortable bed, a big writing desk and with lots of wordrobe space. I was lucky to have a really nice roomate, too. I was able to use the washing machine and the kitchen, which was very handy for me. WIFI was fast. The placement of bedrooms in the flat is very good, so the noise from the common area(living room- kitchen) do not really bother and you can have peace and quet if you need it. Having 2 bathrooms is really handy, so I never had to wait to take a shower or powder my nose, despire of the number of people.

When I arrived on my first evening, I was a bit suprised by the amount of things stored in the coridor and the living room, but to be honest this mess stoped matteing to me 5 minutes later when I was introduced to Tom and girls who live there and served a home cooked Italian dinner. Everyone was helpful and kind and I got a lot of good advice. The atmosphere in the house was so heart warming, that I started feeling at home in no time.

I definitely would like to return to this place and I very much recommend Tom and the room he rents. He is a host with a big caring heart - and this is an experience no hotel or hostel stay can compeat with.

  • Tom is a very nice person! He made me feel very welcome. At his house he gave me a small file with orientation about the house, Venice that were great! Really close to the train station!

The room is quite good and the bed I slept in (single) was really confy. The apartment is what you expect for students. A bit cluttered but no big deal...

He cooked for us a great risotto and everyone was very friendly!

    Great overall! :)

  • Meeting Tom and his roommates was a very nice experience. He was very helpful, knew a lot being a native to Venezia and very friendly. He helped me book tickets to trains to other cities, helping me to the train station, and was so very generous in sharing meals. The bed I slept in was very comfortable and I would definitely stay with Tom in the event I go back to Venice again. By bus, it was only 10 mins or so to historical center over the bridge so it was a very good location.
