Great spot in Muskoka! The cottage in person matched the pictures in the listing exactly. Also, don't worry, all those drawers and cupboards in the kitchen were stocked with everything you could need to prepare a great meal.
There are so many activities that can be done at this cottage! Some of us would play volleyball while others lounged in the Muskoka chairs. We took one of the canoes around the bend (there are some nice houses on the lake!) and hiked around a bit. Even the sports fans were able to watch the World Cup on the TV in the cottage.
Some added bonuses:
- Dave was flexible with us only going a few days instead of the whole week since there was a timeslot
- Also, he gave me the phone number of the property manager so we were able to get a little of extra sleep the morning we needed to check out
- One of the people in the group left an article of clothing at the cottage and Dave was able to coordinate it's return to the city with the person staying after us
Overall, great stay. We met a couple of families that have a booking each year so they can have a mini-reunion and I can totally understand why.
Dave has a great cottage and our group had an awesome time there! The place was very clean and came with everything we needed for a great stay (stocked kitchen, new BBQ, bed linens, etc. but bring your own towels). The cottage is on a property with about 8 cottages in total (multiple owners) and the amenities (fire pit, beach, lawn area, beach volley ball court, non-powered boats, etc) are shared amongst everyone but works well. Silver Lake is small but awesome for swimming, canoeing, and relaxing by a calm lake. Lake Joe is super close (5min drive to Gordon Bay Marina) and perfect for renting a boat to spend time on the water touring around or skiing/tubing. Dave is super quick to respond to any questions and very helpful. There is a Foodland grocery store about a 10min drive away in MacTier. Thanks again!
