The Space

Riad Petit Palais de Marrakesh is a small but gorgeous private rental home in the Medina of Marrakesh. It is located in a calm area only a five-minute walk away from the famous Jemaa El Fna square. It has two bedrooms which sleep four persons.

LOCATION: The riad is centrally located in an area called Derb Dabachi. The famous «Jemaa El Fna» Square is only a five minutes’ walk away. There you can easily get a taxi to discover Marrakesh and its surroundings. You will enjoy walking to the Jemaa el Fna square to buy fresh orange juice from the street stalls, and then walk back past an array of street vendors selling pastries and other local delights to enjoy it on your private roof terrace.

RENT: The daily price is 100€ for the entire house for up to 4 persons. Each additional persons above 4 will be charged an additional 20€ per night. The price includes the exclusive use of the entire house and cleaning upon your departure. We provide bed sheets, towels and usual amenities such as hairdryers.

PRIVACY: When you rent with us you always book the entire house. There will be no other guests, just you and your family and friends.

THE HOUSE: The riad was entirely renovated in 2012 with traditional Moroccan construction techniques. Examples of Moroccan handicraft, such as tadelakt (Moroccan wall painting technique with colors), sculpted plaster and wooden ceilings are found in every room. Lamps, furniture, mirrors, bedspreads, curtains, etc. found in the riad have all been crafted by Moroccan artisans, some of them living next door.

ROOMS: The total surface of the house is about 100m2 and it can comfortably accommodate four persons in its two bedrooms. It is equipped with reversible air-conditioning. There is a common bathroom with a bathtub. The kitchen, a Moroccan chill out area, and one bedroom are located on the ground floor. The second bedroom and the bathroom are on the first floor.

LIVING OUTDOOR: A patio with a fountain and a large palm tree occupies the ground floor. On the first floor, there is a chill out balcony with a view on the patio. On the top floor, a roof terrace of about 40m2 is the best place to enjoy the sunshine during the day and the deliciously breezy evenings of Marrakesh.

STAFF AND SERVICES: Bed sheets, towels and usual amenities such as hairdryers are provided by us. There is a French/English-speaking caretaker. She is available any time during your stay to assist you and make sure you are enjoying your vacation.

MEALS: Dinner and breakfast (typical Moroccan dishes) can be ordered and enjoyed in a nearby Riad which we are associated to.

INTERNET ACCESS: Free Internet access (email hidden) connection is available.

TRANSPORTATION: A private shuttle can be reserved to pick you up from the airport or the train station. A transfer to or from the airport or train station costs 150 Dirhams (13€) for up to 7 persons. The shuttle is also available for sightseeing trips you might want to make around Marrakesh. Taking our shuttle is a good way to get to know the driver and the vehicle in case you plan such a trip and want it to be arranged by us.

ARRIVAL/DEPARTURE: Our house is available from 1600 on the day of arrival and must be vacated by 1000 on the day of departure. If possible, though, this will be flexible depending on your final flight arrival and departure times.

SMOKING: Smoking is allowed on the roof terrace and in the patio.

VISITORS: No local visitors are allowed entry to the Riad during your stay. This restriction is necessary because of the Moroccan legislation.

NEIGHBORS: It is expected that our guests do not make excessive noise that could disturb our neighbors. Furthermore, it is not allowed to be naked on the roof terrace. We also ask our guests not to unnecessarily look at the terraces and patios of the riads in the neighborhood. The roof terraces in Morocco were originally reserved for women.

NOT TO BE MISSED: walking is the best way to explore the medina (old city) of Marrakesh. Here are a few ideas of where your steps should take you:

- Main souks, 3 min walk.
- «Jemaa El Fnaa» square, 5 min.
- «Place des Épice», 5 min.

  • We so enjoyed our stay at the Riad. The location was ideal and both Nadia and Hassan we're extremely helpful in suggesting places to visit, eat, shop, etc.

  • Elegant Riad, right in the middle of all the Marrakech action.
Super helpful staff. Many thanks to Nadia, Hassan, and Fatima for all of their hospitality and help.

  • Aleks Is a very great host, he answered all of my emails and gave me and my party tips about things to do in the area. My wife, myself, and two of our friends stayed in Le Petit Palace Riad. It was more than enough room for us, and we enjoyed our week in Marrakech.

Nadia and Hassan were the house managers. They took such good care of us! They prepared us breakfast by request, arranged transportation to and from anywhere we wanted, and worked extra hard to ensure our stay was amazing.

I loved our stay and would visit every year if I could.

  • Das war eine faszinierende Zeit in Marrakech, das Riad ist ruhig gelegen, sehr authentisch und äußerst angenehm für einen Aufenthalt in dieser Stadt

  • My husband and I stayed in Aleks' riad for 3 nights last week and it was wonderful. Great location very close to the Djemma el Fna square in the heart of the medina. The riad is spacious and clean. The contact there, Nadia, is close by and always available. Highly recommended.

  • Our experience in Marrakech was wonderful, in many ways thanks to Aleks's crew (Nadia and Hassan) who were super friendly and took great care of us since the moment we stepped out of the airport, to arranging a delicious breakfast for us and arranging a transport back to the airport for us. They made an unforgettable experience for both me and my wife. The petit palais riad was another part of the experience. Located in the medina of Marrakech is super close to everywhere you would want to go, and is really private and peaceful for a couple or group traveling together. The place itself is not as new as you see in the pictures, but it's still gorgeous, specially in the night. I would recommend Aleks place to anyone wanting to have a unique experience in Marrakech!

  • This is a amazing property. Smack in the middle of the Medina geographically, only minutes walk to any sites and literally on the doorstep of the souks. Despite that it is quiet and secluded. Well presented, private, comfortable.
Aleks was one of the most responsive hosts I've used on Airbnb and his representatives (Nadia & Hassan) were attentive, generous and helpful. We also used their airport transfer service which was on time and professional.
The roof terrace was even nicer than it appears in photos, but views are limited as it isn't particularly high.
A delightful, peaceful and private riad.

I have been in love with Marrakech, its inhabitants and Moroccan artwork for many years. The first time I was struck by the beauty of Morocco was when, after hitchhiking from Switzerland, I arrived in Tangier in 1979.
