This is an area frequented by young people (25-30 YEARS) rather trendy.
Its bustling food shops, delicatessen. (Midnight you can buy your milk or your butter ...), a bakery down the building. its small restaurants, brasseries, sidewalk cafe, theaters, concert halls, canal Saint Martin near.
what I like about this neighborhood is that it can do everything on foot, and to have the choice.
-envie seafood, it goes on the grand boulevard 5-minute walk.
-envie drinking a glass of water bort, it goes on the St Martin canal, 7 minutes walk
-envie to do shopping, we go from the side of the Forum des Halles or large store, 10 minutes walk
-envie to drink a glass off the Champs Elysees, 30 minutes on foot or 15 minutes by bike
-envie going to the Louvre, 20 minutes on foot, 10 minutes by bus
For us who love French food and drink, this is a good area both for shopping and for the wide choice of restaurants, plus terraces for his coffee, and evening aperitif.

Lovely flat in a quiet building in a great area. Exactly what we wanted. - we walked everywhere, so convenient. Really good facilities in the flat (we're even thinking of buying a coffee machine after using the one there for the weekend!) and the shops and restaurants nearby are great - fab boulangerie just downstairs, and the whisky store was a real find. :) thank you Sabine! X
Sabine was very accommodating as our flight was late and our luggage did not arrive in Paris. We were an hour and a half late for meeting Sabine at the apartment and she waiting around for us. She was pleasant and helpful when we arrived. The apartment is located in a cool part of town with lots of little bars and restaurants just as you exit the building. Very close to a metro station which made it very easy to get around town. Would definitely stay again.
The apartment was located in a very good area with many restaurants, cafés and bars. Also just a few minutes walk from the metro so very accessible to all the sites of Paris.
Apartment was clean and tidy and had everything you would need such as kitchen utensils, washing machine etc
Sabine has been a good host who kept us pro-actively updated about our arrival times, directions and maps all the time. Her apartment was adequate for 3 girls who were visting Paris for the first time. All utilities were functioning properly and the location was close to the metro station. There are plenty of shops, grocery stores, cafes and bars downstairs which was very convinient.
The apartment is positioned for visiting Paris on foot. There are no parking places. Street is filled with shops, restaurants, and large crowds. Subway station is really close, around the corner from the closest intersection. Apartment is perfect for 2 ppl but 4 can sleep with the pull out. You get towels per # of people staying in the apartment. There is no air conditioning - it is an older building and keeping the windows open during the night did not help during the month of July and the bad heat wave. The kitchen and the washrooms are clean and sufficient. Condiments such as oil, salt, coffee, tea and even juice was available which was really nice. Overall the apartment was great for our short stay in Paris. The negative - having flown in from Canada (where European flights leave late at night and arrive in Europe early morning) - I did not expect that I would have to wait until 5 pm (option 1- to drop your bags with the cleaning lady, grab the keys, then spend 2 hrs outside until 7pm then come back to the apartment after that time) or option 2 (arrive at the apartment at 7pm). We were not only exhausted from our long flight, having not slept all night then having to walk around Paris all day, drag our luggage to a foreign area, and up the old staircase to the 4th floor all sweaty to be then told to leave for 2 hrs. That part was ridiculous. This is why we literally told the cleaning lady that she didn't have to clean- we would clean because we were physically and mentally exhausted and in need of a shower.
We had a wonderful experience. Sabine was great with communication and always quick to respond both before and during our stay. The apartment was clean, very modern decor, and nice. The street/neighborhood of the apartment was great. There were plenty of grocery stores, restaurants and bars. The apartment was just a short walk away from the Opera house and close to two different metro stops. We had a great time and loved our stay here in Paris!
