We would love to to welcome you into our home!

We live in a great apartment in Didsbury Village, on the first floor of a building formerly known as the 'Clock Tower'. The apartment is made up of two bedrooms (both with ensuites), and one huge living space/kitchen - the apartment is usually flooded with light due to the 8 large bay windows in the main room, overlooking the Village.

We are both musicians, so there is generally music of some description playing - the living room is equipped with some pretty great speakers, as well as a plethora of books, and two vintage red chesterfield couches on which to enjoy them.

When we are not playing music, chances are someone is probably cooking - we like to eat well, and you are welcome to join us for any meals that we get happening. Breakfast is included every day, and usually consists of sourdough toast, eggs, muesli with fruit and yoghurt, fresh baked goods, or porridge. Please let us know if you have any specific requests, or a preference for a particular type of milk - we will always do our best to accommodate these requests.

Your bedroom is at the other end of the flat, and is completely soundproof, should you wish to retreat. Along with an newly renovated ensuite, there is a comfy double bed, and underfloor heating for you to enjoy. There is also an additional mattress for you to use, should you wish to stay with three people.

We also have wireless fibre-optic internet, free for you to use. It's very fast :)

We are about 20 minutes out of the CBD, which means that the area is quiet, but close enough to commute easily should you want to see the sights. The 142 and 42 buses into town stop directly outside the apartment, so transport is a cinch. Didsbury Village Tram stop is just over the road, so that also opens up a gamut of travel options. We also have buses nearby that take you straight to the Trafford Centre, should you be in the mood for a monster shopping trip! Finally, there is a cab company just down the road that will take you to Manchester Airport for £12, and pick you up whenever is convenient. The trip takes about 15 mins.

We are super close to a number of great galleries, bars, restaurants, and museums, including the Whitworth Art Gallery, Manchester Museum, and the multiple Manchester Food and Drink Award winning restaurant, the Rose Garden. (Set menu Sunday through Wednesday, VERY GOOD.)

In addition to this, we have loads of personal recommendations, so ask away and we will do our best to help you out! Soph and I are both freelance musicians, working with the BBC Phil, Hallé, and Royal Liverpool Phil amongst others, so we also have a pretty good handle on the music scene.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch. We look forward to welcoming you to Manchester, and our home!

  • Delightful unusual, spacious, light, apartment in the heart of bustling and pleasant Didsbury village. Tranquil private bedroom with ensuite and comfy bed. Hosts very welcoming and relaxed. (They left a locked key so I could get in even though they were out when I arrived.) I enjoyed staying here a lot and would like to stay again if visiting Manchester.

  • This was our first time with airbnb and we were pleasantly surprised. The apartment is very spacious and done beautifully. Its located right in the middle of Didsbury village and transport is no problem at all. The bus station is just outside and the Didsbury Village tram station is a 5 minute walk.
Our room was neat and spacious with a modern en suite bathroom. Adam and Sophie set up breakfast every morning and we really appreciate that. They were both helpful in guiding us and gave us plenty of tips. We had a lot of chats with Adam and loved his sense of humor.
We would highly recommend this place and look forward to staying here again.

  • This was my first Airbnb experience and I must say that my stay at Adam and Sophie’s place was nothing but memorable and wonderful. Their place is conveniently located at the heart of Didsbury Village – close enough to town where all the buzz is (only a short bus / tram ride away), but not too close that you feel harassed by the noise. In itself, Didsbury is a welcoming enclave with many food options, bars and supermarkets. I especially liked ‘The Art of Tea’, this quaint little tea-house just around the corner with a 2nd hand bookshop attached to it as recommended by Sophie. I could spend hours browsing through the vintage books while enjoy great tea and food.

Adam and Sophie were also the most wonderful hosts to me. They are both musicians, and very easy-going people. I enjoyed the short chats with them over breakfast while Adam practiced on his cello. They also very kindly laid out various cereals, coffee and tea, bread and jam options for me every morning, which was a really nice touch. Finally, I absolutely love their place. Very chic and spacious living room with a lot of natural light. My room was also very spacious, with clean sheets and very comfortable bed and pillows. Of course, having a personal en-suite bathroom was a luxury. I couldn’t ask for more really.

If you are looking for a place while holidaying in Manchester, look no further. Adam and Sophie’s place will be the icing on the cake! I unreservedly recommend their place to you! :)

  • It was only one night. But I can definitely recommend staying with Adam and soph. They are wonderful hosts who lay out a great breakfast for us although we had to leave very early in the morning. They really make you feel that you are welcome.

  • Adam and Sophie were awesome hosts considering it was only a quick stop off. Highly recommend staying in their swanky abode!

  • Adam and Sophie's flat is just beautiful. We didn't get to chat with them much, because we were out all day, but everything in the room was perfect. I would definitely stay there again when I'm in Manchester.

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 night stay with Adam and Sophie. East Didsbury is the nicest location in Manchester that we know of: lovely residential areas, convenient shops, lively cafes, right on the bus line, serene gardens to stroll through. And Flat 2 at 700 Wilmslow Rd is the most convenient place to stay in East Didsbury. It was a treat to learn something about professional musicians from Sophie and we appreciated the breakfast she laid out every morning. The flat is spacious, our room was very comfortable and the kitchen stunning. Coffee lovers though would appreciate something like a Bodum coffee maker. There was one short period of frustration when the electronic key failed to open the front door but this was resolved and I’m sure that Adam will add a key that would obviate the problem.

My name is Adam, and I am a cellist currently based in Manchester, UK. Here are some of my favourite things, presented in list form for your reading pleasure: - Meeting new people/being an airbnb host. (No, really. We love it!) - Food and wine, and the odd spot of cooking - Corpse Reviver No. 2's - (20ml each of gin, cointreau, lillet blanc, and lemon juice, shake with ice, garnish with a maraschino cherry) - My aeropress - The Schubert Quintet - In Rainbows (by Radiohead) I used to play cello with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra and run a chamber group called the Fitzroy Ensemble; I have recently relocated to Didsbury, in Manchester. It's been great here! Together with my girlfriend, Sophie, we live in a lovely apartment in Didsbury Village. Our place is big, filled with light, and there is generally music playing and something cooking. It's a good place.
