"Adam has the most amazing apartment in the heart of Didsbury Village... The location is ideal... the bedroom is big and spacious with ensuite bathroom and shower. Adam is a perfect host."
- Ian, Nov 2012
We would love to to welcome you into our home!
We live in a great apartment in Didsbury Village, on the first floor of a building formerly known as the 'Clock Tower'. The apartment is made up of two bedrooms (both with ensuites), and one huge living space/kitchen - the apartment is usually flooded with light due to the 8 large bay windows in the main room, overlooking the Village.
Your bedroom is at the other end of the flat, and is completely soundproof, should you wish to retreat. Along with an newly renovated ensuite, there is a comfy double bed, and underfloor heating for you to enjoy. There is also an additional mattress for you to use, should you wish to stay with three people.
We also have wireless fibre-optic internet, free for you to use. It's very fast :)
Interaction with Guests
We are both musicians, so there is generally music of some description playing - the living room is equipped with some pretty great speakers, as well as a plethora of books, and two vintage red chesterfield couches on which to enjoy them.
When we are not playing music, chances are someone is probably cooking - we like to eat well, and you are welcome to join us for any meals that we get happening. Breakfast is included every day, and usually consists of sourdough toast, eggs, muesli with fruit and yoghurt, fresh baked goods, or porridge. Please let us know if you have any specific requests, or a preference for a particular type of milk - we will always do our best to accommodate these requests.
We are super close to a number of great galleries, bars, restaurants, and museums, including the Whitworth Art Gallery, Manchester Art Gallery, and Manchester Museum.
In addition to this, we have loads of personal recommendations, so ask away and we will do our best to help you out! Soph and I are both freelance musicians, working with the BBC Phil, Hallé, and Royal Liverpool Phil amongst others, so we also have a pretty good handle on the music scene.
We are about 20 minutes out of the CBD, which means that the area is quiet, but close enough to commute easily should you want to see the sights. The 142 and 42 buses into town stop directly outside the apartment, so transport is a cinch. Didsbury Village Tram stop is just over the road, so that also opens up a gamut of travel options. We also have buses nearby that take you straight to the Trafford Centre, should you be in the mood for a monster shopping trip! Finally, there is a cab company just down the road that will take you to Manchester Airport for £12, and pick you up whenever is convenient. The trip takes about 15 mins.
Other Things to Note
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch. We look forward to welcoming you to Manchester, and our home!
1. No smoking anywhere in the flat.
2. No unexpected guests please! We love to have people over, but only those we have organised through the listing.
3. This is our home and we love it. Please treat it with the respect that you would show your own place!
4. Have a lovely time in Manchester :)
A delightful stay with Adam and Sophie, who made us feel welcome. Their apartment is airy, spacious and light. We enjoyed the closeness of the tram system, and the pleasant village atmosphere with convenient supermarket and eateries nearby. Highly recommended.
This was my first Airbnb booking, and I was a bit nervous about booking somewhere that the owner would also be occupying at the same time but Adam and Sophie made us feel really welcome, and relaxed in their home. Adam was really good at keeping in contact and answering my questions leading up to the stay.
We only stayed 1 night and already had a table booked for dinner, but they had loads of recommendations for places to eat and drink. When your host recommends somewhere that's offering half price champagne, you really can't complain!!
The flat is right in the centre of Didsbury so it's really easy to get to whether you're using public transport or driving. It's got a really large kitchen / living room which is a great place to sit and have a cuppa, and the morning after enjoy the great range of breakfast items.
There were 3 of us in the room, so 2 of us took the double bed, and I took the mattress on the floor. Whilst I recognise it is just a mattress it was really comfortable, and suited our needs for the night, and more comfortable than some hotel beds I've slept in!
My stay with Adam and Sophie was lovely. Even though my stay was short, they made me feel comfortable and at ease. I was greeted with a welcome sign with my name, which was a nice touch.
The room was nice and spacious, breakfast options were extensive and the neighbourhood was friendly and lively too. I would recommend them to others, and would stay again.
I was in Manchester for work for close to three weeks, and loved staying with Adam and Sophie! They were away when I arrived, but their friend Anna made sure I was settled, and when they came back I really enjoyed their friendliness and generosity and helpfulness. The apartment is wonderful: beautifully furnished, full of light and air, and near easy transport to Manchester as well as many lovely places to eat and shop in Didsbury Village.
The host canceled this reservation 50 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Adam's apartment was bright, warm and cosy. Loved their lounge area. He wasn't around during check in but the instructions given were clear and we had no problem making ourselves comfortable. Too bad we didn't get a chance to try the breakfast but just waking up to the music played was a joy. It's a little far from the main action. However Didsbury Village is easy to walk around and has plenty of eating options. The tram station was also nearby so we used it to get into City Centre and to Old Trafford.
Adam and Sophie; King and Queen amongst men. Their house a royal palace of sorts, adorned with many fine artifacts from the Middle East of Australia(Sydney). The bed had a soporific quality to it, ensuring a perfect night of sleep accompanied by the dulcet tones of karaoke from the pub next door.
Highly recommend-5 Michelin hats.

About the Host, Adam
My name is Adam, and I am a cellist currently based in Manchester, UK.
Here are some of my favourite things, presented in list form for your reading pleasure:
- Meeting new people/being an airbnb host. (No, really. We love it!)
- Food and wine, and the odd spot of cooking
- Corpse Reviver No. 2's - (20ml each of gin, cointreau, lillet blanc, and lemon juice, shake with ice, garnish with a maraschino cherry)
- My aeropress
- The Schubert Quintet
- In Rainbows (Radiohead)
I used to play cello with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra and run a chamber group called the Fitzroy Ensemble; for the last two years I have been freelancing in Manchester, playing with the Hallé Orchestra, Opera North, and RLPO (amongst other bits and bobs)...
Together with my girlfriend, Sophie, we live in a lovely apartment in Didsbury Village. Our place is big, filled with light, and there is generally music playing and something cooking. It's a good place.
