We would love to to welcome you into our home!
We live in a great apartment in Didsbury Village, on the first floor of a building formerly known as the 'Clock Tower'. The apartment is made up of two bedrooms (both with ensuites), and one huge living space/kitchen - the apartment is usually flooded with light due to the 8 large bay windows in the main room, overlooking the Village.
Your bedroom is at the other end of the flat, and is completely soundproof, should you wish to retreat. Along with an newly renovated ensuite, there is a comfy double bed, and underfloor heating for you to enjoy. There is also an additional mattress for you to use, should you wish to stay with three people.
We also have wireless fibre-optic internet, free for you to use. It's very fast :)
Interaction with Guests
We are both musicians, so there is generally music of some description playing - the living room is equipped with some pretty great speakers, as well as a plethora of books, and two vintage red chesterfield couches on which to enjoy them.
When we are not playing music, chances are someone is probably cooking - we like to eat well, and you are welcome to join us for any meals that we get happening. Breakfast is included every day, and usually consists of sourdough toast, eggs, muesli with fruit and yoghurt, fresh baked goods, or porridge. Please let us know if you have any specific requests, or a preference for a particular type of milk - we will always do our best to accommodate these requests.
We are super close to a number of great galleries, bars, restaurants, and museums, including the Whitworth Art Gallery, Manchester Art Gallery, and Manchester Museum.
In addition to this, we have loads of personal recommendations, so ask away and we will do our best to help you out! Soph and I are both freelance musicians, working with the BBC Phil, Hallé, and Royal Liverpool Phil amongst others, so we also have a pretty good handle on the music scene.
We are about 20 minutes out of the CBD, which means that the area is quiet, but close enough to commute easily should you want to see the sights. The 142 and 42 buses into town stop directly outside the apartment, so transport is a cinch. Didsbury Village Tram stop is just over the road, so that also opens up a gamut of travel options. We also have buses nearby that take you straight to the Trafford Centre, should you be in the mood for a monster shopping trip! Finally, there is a cab company just down the road that will take you to Manchester Airport for £12, and pick you up whenever is convenient. The trip takes about 15 mins.

Adam's apartment was bright, warm and cosy. Loved their lounge area. He wasn't around during check in but the instructions given were clear and we had no problem making ourselves comfortable. Too bad we didn't get a chance to try the breakfast but just waking up to the music played was a joy. It's a little far from the main action. However Didsbury Village is easy to walk around and has plenty of eating options. The tram station was also nearby so we used it to get into City Centre and to Old Trafford.
Adam and Sophie; King and Queen amongst men. Their house a royal palace of sorts, adorned with many fine artifacts from the Middle East of Australia(Sydney). The bed had a soporific quality to it, ensuring a perfect night of sleep accompanied by the dulcet tones of karaoke from the pub next door.
Highly recommend-5 Michelin hats.
It was a great weekend! The big living room is fantastic! Follow adams recommendations and you will have a great time in Manchester! Especially the pub across the road the storkers arms was our favourite.
From where can I start?!
Adam and Sophie, you are so cute, well educated smart ("la madeleine de Proust" for instance ah ah!! a lesson for a french girl).
Lovely couple, every time I was with you, I felt good immediately by your good humour!
What a pleasure to meet you, Thank you for all you did for me: the boots, the Presecco, our dinner, your fantastic music!!!! So magic moment I couldn't forgotten, your advise, and all your help.
Thank you for having welcomed me!!!!.
Adam and Sophie are very kind and welcoming. I really felt home and the flat is very good.
It is located in a lovely village very close to the tram station heading to Manchester downtown. A very good experience!

About the Host, Adam
My name is Adam, and I am a cellist currently based in Manchester, UK.
Here are some of my favourite things, presented in list form for your reading pleasure:
- Meeting new people/being an airbnb host. (No, really. We love it!)
- Food and wine, and the odd spot of cooking
- Corpse Reviver No. 2's - (20ml each of gin, cointreau, lillet blanc, and lemon juice, shake with ice, garnish with a maraschino cherry)
- My aeropress
- The Schubert Quintet
- In Rainbows (Radiohead)
I used to play cello with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra and run a chamber group called the Fitzroy Ensemble; for the last two years I have been freelancing in Manchester, playing with the Hallé Orchestra, Opera North, and RLPO (amongst other bits and bobs)...
Together with my girlfriend, Sophie, we live in a lovely apartment in Didsbury Village. Our place is big, filled with light, and there is generally music playing and something cooking. It's a good place.
