Bush Retreat is in Opua, in the Bay of Islands, just one minute's drive from the car ferry to Russell, and about 8 minutes' drive to Paihia. It is a spacious home with three spare bedrooms, two queen and a twin share, with one bathroom and separate toilet, so if we have other guests, the bathroom and toilet will be shared. The garden has a huge lawn with a beautiful bush backdrop. Guests are welcome to use the free wireless internet connection. It is a smoke free zone, but the garden is large enough to escape to for a puff without disturbing other guests. There is ample parking.
The nightly rate includes a continental breakfast, and our kitchen is available at all times for extra cooking if required.
Your hosts are Sue and Ladislav Graczer. Between us we speak a number of languages, including Czech, Hungarian, Slovak, Spanish and German. Ladis enjoys cooking and gardening, and taking his 16ft boat out on fishing trips. Sue is treasurer of the Bay of Islands Travel Club, is a regular at the Opua Cruising club quiz night, swims a lot, and teaches languages in evening classes. We have both travelled widely, and love meeting new people.
We look forward to meeting you.
Very nice host，very helpful, we had a very good time!
Lovely place and well situated. This couple is very welcoming and made our first airbnb experience awesome! Breakfasts made by Susan are just HUGE and DELICIOUS.
Well what can you say about Susan and Ladslav they were great people to spend are last days in New zealand with. This was a great place to stay and the accomadation was 1st class you would not get this type of service in a top (website hidden) for the breakfast it was amazing.this location is a little way from the shops but rember this Susan is more than happy to give you a lift for a small fee to cover her fuel.
On top off a wonderful garden Ladislav makes a grreat whisky the only trouble is it tends to make you talk a lot but it is very nice so Susan and Ladislv thank you for a great stay.
Ladislav and Susan are so very generous as well as interesting. Their home is a warm, loving home and their hospitality is unbeatable. We loved the outlook, the garden is fantastic and the room is very comfortable. They both went out of their way to make our travels in the Bay of Islands easier. We learnt some of the rules of pronouncing Maori words and enjoyed a good chat over a glass of wine. I feel that our trip to NZ was enriched because of our stay with Susan and Ladislav.
Susan and Stanislaus were a very nice and interesting couple, very hospitable and I really enjoyed chatting with them. The house is in a very tranquil spot, great for getting away from the stress of urban life. The coast here is utterly beautiful, especially if you like sailing boats and tidal landscapes/ecosystems.
When the Gods of Hospitality gave out the gold dust ,Susan and Ladislav were given a great fortune, for each day they sprinkled a little on me and others , making our stay amongst them truly enjoyable.
The settting is tranquil and spacious,so near to all the amenities that the Bay of Islands has to offer.
High standard of hygiene, with a really comfortable bed.
A loving couple to be emulated and respected within the Airbnb community
Susan was a great hostess and we enjoyed our stay in Opua. It was the ideal location for us.
Susan was quick to respond and a great host. Nice room as described and an easy drive into paihia. We sat out with a glass of wine and had a great chat with Susan, her husband and the other guests. Breakfast was great. Would recommend to other people passing through the area
