If you want something unique our quirky, magical Treehouse might be for you. On the edge of town, yet hidden from the hustle & bustle of Ubud by a high wall, the Treehouse overlooks working rice fields and a temple - the best of both worlds!
Situated near the heart of the bustling artistic and cultural centre of Ubud, Bali, Satori is our home for half the year which we are delighted to share with others while we are away.
If you're after an isolated, out of the way retreat, then Satori may be a little too urban for you. Here we offer the best of both worlds, close proximity to all the wonderful services and cultural experiences that Ubud offers, within a truly magical setting! Step directly from the hustle and bustle of Ubud life though a doorway to another world, a stunning oasis, of water features, jungle garden and beautiful rice field views.

We offer 2 separate accommodation options, The Treehouse (our guest house) listed here, and the Villa (our home) listed here
The Treehouse at Satori:
Constructed carefully amongst a tall stand of trees sits The Treehouse, arguably one of the most unique Airbnb listings in Ubud! Guests have describe it as adventurous, fun, rustic and magical.
The Treehouse is two separate rooms, upstairs and downstairs, connected by an outdoor (covered) stairway wrapped around trees.
The upstairs room is a Javanese teak house, boasting a generously proportioned day bed (can convert to full size single bed) TV/DVD, desk and charming TREETOPS BATHROOM! Glass doors slide back to the stunning view where you can relax in the outdoor furniture created from reclaimed wood from old fishing boats, and take in a vista that flows from a jungle frame to the rice field valley below.
Downstairs is the cosy 3x3m air conditioned bedroom with queen-sized bed and a floor-to-ceiling glass wall inviting in the magical setting. Steps away is an indoor/outdoor kitchenette and an additional bathroom.
Both levels have separate bathrooms, the downstairs has a window
A path beside the Treehouse leads alongside our waterfall feature to a private outdoor sitting area. Also set here is a beautiful handmade wooden bathtub, a perfect spot to float with a glass of your favourite something and contemplate the ever-changing light on the rice field beyond.
The shared yoga/massage studio lies between The Treehouse and the neighbouring Villa. Let us contact a talented massage therapist to visit for the perfect end to a memorable Bali day!

Mark is a wonderful host. He was very prompt in answering all my questions regarding our stay at his property and even anticipating our needs to get around the town. Kadek and Wayan, the caretakers, were very accommodating and we couldn't have been more thankful for their presence. Nonetheless the Tree house is just a serene place to have a splendid time and to meditate. The area where the property is situated was just perfect for us, not too far from the central Ubud markets and not noisy at all. This is the perfect place to stay to at to get close with nature. Thank you to Mark and staff for a memorable stay in Ubud!
This treehouse is by far my favourite Airbnb stay. It truly is magical and flawless for those that like to feel close to nature it is perfect. Mark left us with all the information we needed upon booking and the staff from arrival and throughout were beautiful and welcoming, Wayan is this sweetest soul, and truly cares about us having a great stay. My sister got sick on our first night and Wayan went out of her way to help. Breakfast and coffee is delicious.. I'll definitely be returning to this charming sanctuary and maybe try the villa next time :) and thank you so much Mark for sharing your beautiful place
My girlfriend and I loved every bit of the treehouse. It was definitely the nicest, most homely place we stayed in ubud, and we'll definitely be back again! The staff were excellent, and very helpful. We needed our clothes washed within 2 hours, and wayan went out of her way to do so. Wayan was without a doubt the cutest person we'd ever met!
The breakfast was awesome, as was the massage. We loved our stay, and definitely recommend it.
I simply love the treehouse and the private villa the moment I stepped into satori. The team - Wayan, Sak Ming really makes us feel at home with the delicious breakfast, and complimentary afternoon tea etc. The driver, Dewa is also very friendly and always offers to help. As it was Valentine Day, the staff was sweet enough to prepare some roses for the lady. We really love the little walkway that leads to the outdoor bathroom, and the cozy living room and bedroom of the treehouse. Hope to be back to enjoy the private villa and the treehouse for a longer holiday next time!
We thought the treehouse was wonderful and great alternative to traditional rooms. It was clean and comfortable with great views over the rice paddy fields. The staff were absolutely terrific as was the owner, Mark, who checked-in via email to see that all was OK. We were made to feel so very welcome and nothing was a problem for them. The complimentary fruit mountain breakfast was delicious as was the complimentary Balinese afternoon tea. We loved taking a sunset bath in the outdoor bath overlooking the rice fields. The treehouse is on the edge of town (so not that central) however nothing that a quick taxi ride or 30min walk won't fix. The slight downside is that it can be a little noisy as its next to the main road leading into Ubud however the noise was during the daytime rather during the evening. However it was just a slight problem and often times the gurgling spring and waterfall drowned the noise out. Altogether we loved the whole treehouse experience and would definitely recommend it. We would come back
again . For sure
The treehouse is indeed charming and the staff helpful and attentive as in a hot breakfast so while sitting on the deck overlooking the rice fields
However I wish I had realized a few things before choosing this spot
The walk to the market in Ubud in the center of town took me 40 minutes in the hot sun. A taxi will cost about 50 rupiah.
You can hear noise from the road traffic in the treehouse. The noise is masked by the waterfall and fan but you do not have real quiet to hear the birds and insects.
Bring your own toiletries. Only soap is provided.
At times I was the only person in the complex at night Although I felt safe it is a factor to consider.
That said I did have a lovely time with in house massages and drives into the villages arranged by the staff for me.
Thank you so much for taking the time to review my Ubud home Eileen, the housekeepers loved having you stay! We're sorry you didn't realise where we are geographically. We do like to give our future guests as much information as we can. We state in the listing we are 1.6km from Ubud town, which usually takes 15-20 minutes walk. The market you mention is not actually the centre of town but the opposite edge of the town, you had to walk through the whole town to get there! But yes as you say a taxi is a very cheap option if that is where you choose to go :-)
The Villa and Treehouse is my home for half the year which I rent when I am away from Bali, so we don't always have the hotel style some people might expect. Usually people find that is what makes it so special and wonderful, a true home away from home! We like to offer a personal connection and care that separates us from a more sterile holiday experience. We hope you found that too. Best of luck with future Airbnb adventures and thanks again!
It was a WOW! experience staying in the magical treehouse. I loved everything about it!
- amazing view over the rice paddies
- delicious breakfast
- lovely, friendly and helpful staff
- facilities as described
- I had a SUPERB 90 minute massage in the massage room.
I want to go back!!!
Next time I'd love to stay for longer than 1 night. Many thanks to Mark for allowing us to stay for 1 night when the minimum is 2.
