We live on the property, but there is considerable privacy. If you need anything, we're a shout away!!!
Sometimes we're up for a drink or two, but generally we're exhausted when we get home
The town of Las Negras is located 15 minutes outside of puerto. There are little shops to buy the essentials, and a couple simple restaurants all within walking distance
Daniel and Casey's villa hideaway is even better than the listing describes! We absolutely loved staying here, loved having access to the beautiful lagoon, loved hanging out with the dogs and the burro, and loved the privacy of having a place away from the city. It was really cool to stay somewhere off the beaten path and have access to a part of Puerto Escondido that not all tourists see. The villa is about a 15 minute drive outside of Puerto Escondido, but we never had any problems flagging down a micro bus during the days/evenings or finding a taxi to bring us back at night. Casey was out of town when we were staying there, but she was easy to communicate with over email. Daniel is a perfect Air BnB host--as available or as out of your way as you want him to be. We would absolutely stay here again and hope to!
The villa is really nice with amazing nature. A tranquil place for relaxation. We were supposed to stay for five days but unfortunately the internet connection went down on the first day. Since we had to work remotely staying without internet wasn't an option for us. Daniel showed great flexibility and drove us to his hotel in Puerto Escondido where we got a really nice suite for the following days. Both Daniel and Casey are very hospitable and friendly people! As are their lovely two dogs, donkey and cat :) Would recommend to anyone who's looking for a quiet and remote place. Don't forget the insect repellent.
Lagoon is absurdly beautiful, incredibly private; we saw only one other person on the huge lagoon the entire time we were there. The house is gorgeous and cool at night, and kept super clean by Daniel's staff, who are all really nice and helpful. We spent our time reading on the couches in the outdoor living room (!) and paddleboarding, but Daniel was also nice enough to take us out on his boat and give me a wakeboarding lesson! Located outside Puerto Escondido, but cabs are plentiful and cheap to get into town and there's a decent restaurant two doors down if you're hungry. Can't recommend it enough, great vacation spot, especially in the wintertime.
We had a magical trip to Puerto and loved our stay at Daniel & Casey's place. Morning coffee on the dock, paddleboarding and dips in the lake, awesome dogs and a burro to keep us company and a beautiful country drive to all the great beaches. We didn't get to meet Casey on this visit but Daniel was beyond a great host—super welcoming and fun! We will surely be back! Thanks for everything, guys!
What a wonderful experience we had as a couple staying with Casey! There is no more gorgeous, safe, private and relaxing place in Puerto Escondido than Casey's compound, and we saw just about every available lodging place while we were there. Right on the lagoon, we were able to go swimming or take a kayak on a whim and see some amazing wildlife. There is also a great restaurant right next door that serves delicious fresh fish. Casey and Daniel were so friendly and definitely helped make our trip special and memorable. If you're looking for the best of both worlds: relaxation and serenity, but also easy access to the center of town, nothing comes close to this place. Unbelievable bang for your buck.
Casey and Daniel's villa is one of the calmest and most serene places I've stayed. Beautiful sunset drinks on the lagoon, paddling out across the deserted water on their kayaks, magic surfing just down the road, incredibly friendly and helpful hosts, the whole place is magic. We'll be back.
