Anita was a welcoming, friendly, and caring host. I enjoyed having breakfast with her and other guests each morning and getting to know everyone. It felt like a home and small community away from home. The property is beautiful and the room comfortable. I loved the jungle noises through the screens by the end, although it took me a couple of nights to get used to. If you appreciate nature and are friendly, this is the perfect place for you. I would definitely stay at Casa Buena Vista again.

This is a great, cozy place to stay! Anita's house has a beautiful view of Manuel Antonio's bay and you can watch it while you have your breakfast. The room is clean and tidy and just as described in the picture, it is in an old cabin downstairs the main house and has a beautiful wooden deck where you can stay in the afternoon, have a drink and watch the cappuccino monkeys play around. Definitely recommended, the whole place has a great vibe and gives you the feeling of staying at an old jungle cabin!

I can't say enough about this place, we are absolutely in love with it. The teak house is really comfortable and fun. The surroundings are just beautiful. Anita is an incredibly warm and welcoming host. Breakfast was good and Nuria makes perfect eggs. We had such a great time here we even stayed an extra night. If we make it back to Manuel Antonio in the future, we will definitely stay here!

Anita and her staff were lovely to be around! Her place was super relaxing and the deck was a great spot to hang out and see animals. While her place is centrally located to shops, two beaches, and a bus stop, note that if you don't have a car you are walking up and down hills to get everywhere - if this is a concern for you, I wouldn't recommend staying here without a car.

I WOULD NEVER RECOMED THIS PLACE. First: Not recommended if you are an alone women: there's a man that works for Anita and he stares at you until you tell him to leave, anyways in our experience this man was staring at us for up to 2 hours until we encouraged him to get out of the place. (This sounds weird but as the area is shared anybody could be in that teak house) He was first sitting on the couch and then on the balcony, anyways, he's a worker not a guest and that's why we complaint about it , Anita just ignored us and did act as if it was totally ok. but you know, IT WASN'T Anita was very rude to me and to the other people too, I heard the guests talking about it since they had a bad impression of her on the check in and at breakfast, it doesn't matter what you are asking for: in my experience, our fan just stopped working one day, Anita lives right on the place and despite of that it took a loooong time for her to bring a good one, the WORST is that when she brought the other fan to us she just got in to our room so disrespectfully even stepping on some clothes we had drying. I mean the place is her's but WE ARE PAYING TO STAY, is not like she's making you a favor right?... *******SUPER IMPORTANT****If you are a delicate person don't even think about this option, BREAKFAST ALSO INCLUDES EATING WHILE SMELLING A DENSE CAT EXCREMENT AND PISS ODOR. This is for real my people. I have been in many other places with Airbnb , even cheaper than this , and this one is just the best example of the the WORST you can get not just for the place itself(Since is dirty and old) but for the poof customer service Anita provides. Breakfast was a little better when the other lady was there. BUT WHEN IS Anita who serves the breakfast is a bad experience. One day she asked me if I wanted eggs, i told her very clearly YES I DO, and then she asked again like if she "wasn't" hearing me, I felt that in some way she wanted me to say no so she wouldn't have to make them, very weird attitude since when I said yes she just got her head down and then looked at me with pissed-off face.. THAT was creepy by the way, I left my chair for a minute just to bring more bread to finish my eggs and she took them away, I had more than the half of the eggs on my plate and she did it anyway, didn't even ask. So if you want to stay at this place you have to be aware: it includes the rudeness, the dirtiness, the lack of professionalism and lack of care for the customer. Anita is selling her places so is...

The stay in villa Buena Vista was just great! Anita been very friendly and accommodating, easy communication. The bungalow has an amazing view into the rainforest, you will see monkeys playing and jumping around your terrace.. Amazing teak bungalow with spacious living room, kitchen, hot water bathroom, close distance to numerous restaurants and the beach.. Don't miss the amazing breakfast with views over the ocean and national park.

I discover Manuel Antonio 41 years ago after graduating the University of California in Berkeley. Don Melton and myself first did a research project in the National Park and adjoining beaches and decided to make Punta Quepos our home. Don was the local historian and gave educational talks for many groups including National Geografic. We were among the founders of the first Chamber of Tourism in Manue Antonio, founders of ASCONA (Quepos first conservation organization), and have continued to be active in civic and conservations groups to date. I am currently working with a group to establish an animal shelter here in our area. We worked for many years on the problem of drownings (see page 7). I ran my gift shop LA BUENA NOTA for many years and because of my extensive knowledge of Costa Rica, I can answer most questions about our area and some advice about other tourist destinations in Costa Rica.
