Manuel Antonio and the National Park is internationally known for its breathtaking beauty and abundance of wildlife. Staying in the Teak House room at Anita's was lovely. The room is a bit dark, but very comfortable. The bathroom, kitchen, and common space were comfortable, clean, and lovely to share. Breakfast was simple but lovely (eggs, toast, coffee, fruit salad and a view!), and conversing with Anita made it even better.
Overall, I would stay here again. There is a short (uphill) walk to the grocery, but proximity to the beach and National Park was easy. Great albeit brief trip to Manuel Antonio, can't wait to be back!
Anita was a gracious host! Lovely back to nature property. We enjoyed sitting on the big porch listening to the outdoor wildlife sounds. Great restaurants up the road! We had a car so we were able to travel in the area more. Safe parking.. Nice breakfast with a view!
Anita was very welcoming and friendly, extremely knowledgeable about the area, and helpful with travel arrangements. I loved staying at her place which is in the heart ofthe jungle with a great out door open porch where you can watch beautiful birds, monkeys swinging from the trees, and other wildlife! The beautiful beach is walking distance, and there's a super full breakfast in a light filled room with a stunning view of the sea. Being at Casa Buena Vista was like being part of nature itself and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay!
Very nice place to stay, great view. Feels like home with other people who also staying there. Anita and the housekeeper does everything with a smile.

About the Host, Anita
I discover Manuel Antonio 38 years ago after graduating the University of California in Berkeley. Don Melton and myself first did a research project in the National Park and adjoining beaches and decided to make Punta Quepos our home. Don was the local historian and gave educational talks for many groups including National Geografic. We were among the founders of the first Chamber of Tourism in Manue Antonio, founders of ASCONA (Quepos first conservation organization), and have continued to be active in civic and conservations groups to date. I am currently working with a group to establish an animal shelter here in our (website hidden) We worked for many years on the problem of drownings (see page 7). I ran my gift shop LA BUENA NOTA for many years and because of my extensive knowledge of Costa Rica, I can answer most questions about our area and some advice about other tourist destinations in Costa Rica.
