Pangrati or Pagrati (Greek: Παγκράτι) is a neighborhood in the Municipality of Athens, Greece. It is bordered by the Kolonaki (Κολωνάκι) neighborhood to the north, the Kaisariani (Καισαριανή) Municipality to the east, the Vyronas (Βύρωνας) Municipality to the south, and the Mets (Μετς) neighborhood to the west. It is not to be confused as a separate suburb, as it is part of the Athens city proper. However, it is frequently mistaken as such, possibly because of it bordering the actual suburbs of Vyronas and Kaisariani. One of the most important landmarks of Pangrati is the Panathinaiko Stadium that hosted the first modern Olympic Games in 1896. The First Cemetery of Athens, the official cemetery for the city of Athens, lies within Pangrati.

  • It was a magnificent week! The reception was warm, the apartment is such as we expected with its space, its comfort, and the neatness.
The district is quiet with direct buses towards the tourist centre, market on Tuesdays, many shops nearby. We would like to return in this apartment during our next stays to Athens

  • The house is big and comfortable. And the host is very nice. He took us a big walk to PLAKA. It's really useful for us. Take the tram2 or 11 is close to the house and it's also close to the Acropolis.

  • We never met Leo but he responded to are emails quickly and we spoke to him on the phone upon arrival and he answered all our questions. His parents live next door and helped us find a nice restaurant nearby that had great souvlaki , gyros and beer.
The apt is big and well equipped, bed linens and towels were provided and 2 terraces to watch Athens street life. To our surprise there was a huge wonderful food market set up on wed morning on our street with incredible displays of oranges, cherries, etc and a stand that had 15 - 20 kinds of olives! We were a little concerned the apt was not near a metro station but we had heard the taxi's were cheap and they are, a taxi to the metro was only @ 4 euros for the 4 of us! You can take a taxi to the other side of the city for 7 euros but pick your drivers carefully, we make sure they know we won't pay more than 5 euros for the ride and make sure the meter is running. There are 100's of taxis so if you don'
t like the looks of one just wave him off a flag down another, the drivers are also a great resource for info about food and activities. The Acropolis is a must, hit it early if you can, the crowds are big and by 11am it was already hot even in late May, I can't imagine it in mid-summer! We only saw 1 small protest (20 people) by the parliament, we felt safe the whole time. Also at the parliament you can watch the changing of the guard every hour, the uniforms and marching style are right out of Monty Python. We were told to stay away from the Omonia metro area late at night but in the day it was fine with some of the world class graffiti that is spectacular! The other highlight was the Gazi flea market where gypsy's sell everything under the sun for cheap prices every sat-sun. It's an amazing scene, lots of fun bargaining and just people watching, they sell food and drinks there as well. Things in Greece are cheap, 8euros for a nice dinner, 2euros for a beer and the wine is cheaper than water! This apt is in a quite neighborhood but in 3 blocks your on a buzzing street with hooka bars and cafes, enjoy!

  • It was an amazing stay in Leandros' apartment. Although we did not get to meet Leandros, he was prompt in his replies and was very helpful when we needed help. He even arranged for his friend's taxi to send us to the airport. His father was (email hidden) and was so helpful for everything we needed. The apartment was just as described and I would definitely recommend anyone to stay in this apartment.

  • This is an awesome apartment! Very clean and enjoyable. We walked from the apartment to the acropolis, national gardens, and the temple of zeus. Leo's father was very friendly and it was great to have the ability to make food.

  • Wonderful apartment! I went to Athens with my grandparents and all of us pretty enjoyed our staying in Leandros's apartment. It was even much better than I could expect! I did not see Leandros in Athens but his father introduced everything for us. His father is pretty kind, helpful and warm-hearted. He even provided us with milk, nice home-made cookies, giving us a true feeling of staying at home. Thank you!!!

The apartment is well located since it is nearby the city center. You can go everywhere easily. Also, the apartment is well decorated and clean. You can find almost everything you need there. In summary, the price, the apartment, the location and the host are perfect! If you go to Athens, Leandros's apartment will be you best choice.

  • We had a lovely time in Athens, specially because of our stay in this apartment. Unfortunately we haven't met Leandros in person, but if he looks like his father, he must be a very kind person. He baked cookies for us and there was milk and butter for the first day. A bakery was around the corner and several supermarkets nearby. Everything was well arranged. There were towels and sheets and since we were there fore six nights, we received clean towels halfway the period. Furthermore the wifi worked perfectly. We felt very welcome here. The apartment was big enough for us, we were with 5 persons.

We can recommend this apartment for this price to anyone.

About
I was born in Athens and lived there until I was 25. I now live on the beautiful island of Andros, a near- by island that was my vacation spot until 2004, when I decided that this was where I wanted to live permanently, away from the hustle and bustle of city life. During the summer months I work in a local hotel as this is one of the best ways to meet people, especially travellers... and who knows, maybe we will meet at some point in time... I also love travelling, meeting new people, learning new cultures - and just seeing as much of the world as I can. As a traveller myself, I know what it means to have good accommodation, friendly hosts and good information. So with this in mind I hope that I can fullfill all these requirements and ensure that your stay in Athens will be as you expecteded. It will be my pleasure to do whatever I can to meet all your needs so that you return home with the best memories.
