Cecilia was great and worked around our mid day arrival and her work schedule. The keys were waiting as promised nearby. The process was straightforward and easy. We really enjoyed the apartment. The space fit our relatively large (2 adults/3 kids) family's needs. There isn't a great deal of privacy from each other - the upper loft is open to below and the 2nd bedroom is small but enclosed, but we didn't find this to be a real problem. The apartment is well equipped and the kitchen served us well. The beds were really comfortable and even the extra daybed in the living space was nice. The balconies are great. The front is narrow with big windows and has a great view. It isn't really useful outside of drying clothes (beach days!), but the rear is lovely and relatively private. We had apres-midi wine there most days. The neighborhood is just enough off the beaten path that the traffic noise is diminished. We still closed up the windows at night to sleep. There are several good nearby boulangeries, a boucherie, a small store and a super marche. There are several good nearby restaurants as well. The walk to the Vieux Port is easy and quick if you want to go there. The walk to Notre Dame de la Garde would be close if you were a crow and there is a lovely view from the apartment, but the walk is straight uphill (and I mean up). It is worth it, but be forewarned. On the topic of up, the stairs to the apartment are considerable. There are four flights up. At the end of our first rather long travel day to Marseille (admittedly after a long night in Paris), we questioned the decision with luggage and children in tow, but in the end it was more of a struggle to make everyone be quiet in the stairwell than it was to ascend the beautiful old tile stairs. We loved Marseille and will definitely return. It is by far our favorite city we have visited in Europe, and especially France. The beaches are not very far away and really are nice. Plage du Prophete is a good little walk away and Plage du Prado is a walk and a bus ride, but lots of fun. We got rained out of our Calenques day, but we had so much fun elsewhere that we left it for our next visit. The Marseillaise are, as a whole, a lovely people. We met many nice people and many people helped us along the way despite our horrific French language skills (not the least of which was Cecilia). Whereas in Paris we felt as if we were begrudgingly ignored for the most part, in Marseille we felt showered with kindness and excitement that we were visitors to their beautiful city. Did I mention we loved Marseille? Thank you again Cecilia. Your apartment was an integral part of that enjoyment. We will be back and we will...
We (two male friends, age 30-40) are more than satisfied with our stay in Cecilias lovely apartment. Cecilia was very helpful and she waited patiently in the apartment for my late arrival, almost midnight. Cecilia was very helpful and we felt very comfortable in her home. Before the arrival as well as during the stay we had a few contacts to sort a few things out and the response was very quick and helpful.
The apartment was close to better than according to photos and description. Efficient airconditioning was good to turn on from time to time since it gets pretty hot under the roof. The terrace to the South was perfect for early mornings and evenings. To the North the French balcony was nice to access as well. The neighbourhood is very calm and you have 7-8 minutes walk to Vieux Port and not more than 1 min walk to a supermarket and the local bakery. You could easily walk to the closest beach, Plage des Catalans, in about 20 minutes following one of the main Boulevards. I would say the location is perfect if you want some dining, sightseeing, beach, and calm neighbourhood - All in One!
When/if I go back to Marseille again I will for sure contact Cecilia again and I will recommend this apartment to anyone going to Marseille.
A bientot Cecilia and Marseille!

Cecilia was one of the sweetest hosts we have encountered. The photos of her loft do no justice to the quality and beauty of her apartement. We loved it so much we stayed 3 more nights than planned. From the well thought out lighting, to the massive TV, to the sunken bath near the bed, to the amazing views of the cathedral under the moon - this place left us nothing short of breathless and appreciative for cecilia's magic touch and the advent of air bnb. We'll never stay in a hotel again after getting so lucky with this place - a very short walk from the food, markets and views of the olds Port, I wouldn't stay anywhere else in marseille. We'll DEFINITELY come back to stay at Cecilia's loft.
Simply wonderful loft, very well equipped, charmin, cosy and very central. The terrace was the base of our breakfasts and aperitives and we enjoyed sitting outside in the sun. Cecilia was extremely nice, she always answered quickly to our questions and met all our needs. A great place to visit a surprisingly beautiful city.
