We have a small cabin, which is separate from our house, available in Ahakista, Ireland. The cabin is set in a lovely and large garden with trees, flowers, plants and a table and chairs. There is a double bed as well as a single sofa bed, a private kitchen, bathroom with shower, wood stove, and closet space. It is fully furnished. Guests will have access to the garden, the koi pond, and hot tub by arrangement.
We are in the leafy village of Ahakista on the Sheep's Head peninsula about 30 minutes drive from Bantry. Ahakista sits on the shores of Dunmannus Bay and has a beautiful harbour, two pubs, a church and school. It is a 5 minutes walk to the sea and there are numerous walking trails that surround the property.
From April to September we have a gallery and cafe on the property as well (See (website hidden)).
Where's the Heron?
The Heron Gallery is in the leafy village of Ahakista on the Sheep's Head peninsula about 30 minutes drive from Bantry. Ahakista sits on the shores of Dunmannus Bay and has a beautiful harbour, two pubs, a church and school.
From Bantry take the Cork road, pass Barry's Garage at the top of the hill and then take the first turn right. In Durrus, take the right fork in front of the Post Office and Ross's bar. Make your way along the shore of Dunmannus Bay to Ahakista. Pass Arundel's Bar and take the next right. The Heron Gallery is at the top of the hill.
A great place to stay in a beautiful setting. Annabel and Kurt were kind and friendly, inviting us to help ourselves to the fruit and veg in the garden, and being very accommodating. Hope to stay again!

We really enjoyed our stay in Annabel's cabin. Depite the cold weather, there was still plenty to do and the cabin was lovely and warm. Annabel recommmended a hike in the surrounding area and very kindly allowed us to use the hot tub both nights for a small fee to cover fuel costs. This was a real treat! I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to escape their busy lifestyle and explore and relax this beautiful peninsula. Without doubt, we will be back.
This was a lovely place and we appreciate that due to unforeseen circumstances we were upgraded to the cottage attached to the shop and main house. The bed was comfortable and the shower was warm. We had a fire going in the lounge room when we got there and Annabelle and her husband were very friendly and accommodating. There dog Molly was also a sweetheart!
Annabele was a lovely welcoming host and we were made to feel very comfortable there. The location is stunning and great pub just down the road for dinners made it ideal for us tired walkers!
We had a really lovely stay in Annabels cabin. It's in a gorgeous location in West Cork. I loved the way the cabin was decorated. We were very comfy there, when we arrived at the cabin we were greeted by flowers from the garden and freshly baked bread. A really unique place to stay, I would have liked more time there but we'll definitely call again! Thanks so much.
